Odyssey in XD today. The only real complaint here is parking validation is only good for 2 hours. Since movies are never shorter than 2 hours you end up having to pay extra for parking, not to mention walk a lot farther.

A great experience. Bought gift cards at Costco and redeemed them on discounted Tuesday tickets. Parking was close by and validated. Staff were very friendly. Our theater was clean and comfortable. A nice cinematic experience. We're going to make a habit of this! Clean bathrooms too!

Great theater. Comfy reclining leather seats with footrest. The armrests fold up as well if you want to cuddle. We went on a Tuesday at 5pm (matinee prices all day) and the theater was spotless. A few things to be aware of: Parking is limited to the parking garage below the mall. Its located on the 2nd story of the outdoor mall, so plan to be out in the weather. The theater itself is also 2-story. This means if you want snacks or have to use the restroom halfway through the movie, you have to go downstairs.

So far I've seen three movies here and have enjoyed it. The only time it was an issue was when we went during Disney on Ice, three nearby parking garages were full and it was not easy to find parking. Love the DOCO area, quick walk to old sac - food choices near the theater as well. Comfortable seats, typical century quality. Recommend (as long as no events at Golden 1 center that day)

Very clean for a movie theater and conveniently located across from the Kimpton Sawyer hotel and the Golden 1 Center.

We went for the first screening to get the early bird discount. We got there early so we could buy the tickets in person to save the processing fee. We arrived at 8:45 for the 9:30 seating. We were surprised to learn that they don't open till 9:15am. We walked around for a bit and returned at 9:15am. Just note that nothing is open at that hour. As it turns out 9:15am was plenty of time to buy tickets and get to our seats. We got seats to the side and near the back. I didn't want to be too close or behind someone. We had perfect seats. The seats recline. The seats are extra large and the arm rests raise up. Our theater was at the lower level. We took the escalator down and passed the downstairs restroom and another concession stand. The concession stand was closed when we arrived, but appeared to be opening when we left. The movie was fantastic. We weren't too close to the screen and even though we picked some seats off center they were perfect. The sound was at a good volume. Not too loud or quiet. I would come back for another movie.

Prime location in DOCO [Sacramento CA] This was my first time watching a movie at this theater. I didn't even know its location, only that there was a Cinemark in DOCO. I come to DOCO for Kings games but have not even noticed this theater. Oh, it's right there across Macy's up the escalator on the 2nd floor. On the evening we went (Friday night) Sacramento has been slammed with lots of rain but neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night can keep these movie goers away from watching a good movie --- the theater was busy and our movie house #2 for Wicked was a full house... well, maybe because it was first day showing in theaters. Employees were friendly from the ticket counter to the concession stand. The popcorn was yummy with the right amount of butter (we wanted lots of butter). The theater has two levels. The seats were comfortable with reclining features. There is a cup holder but no tray tables. It was a bit warm inside our movie house. Bathrooms are one each for men and for women and located on the first level. Cinemark offers parking validation, as most retailers in the complex do (with purchase), they range from 1 - 3 hour validations. I can't remember how many hours the theater validated our ticket. I love Cinemark theaters but driving to DOCO for movies is a bit of a hassle and distant for me plus having to do the parking thing... my preference would be just to stay local. For the experience I would give it a 3.5 Stars, close to 4-Stars. Review #3597

Had a great time watching "Sinners" last night at century Doco. Parking was easy, ticket was validated, concession stand was fully stocked ($12 for large popcorn and Candy), the seats were comfortable and reclined, sound and visual were good. All in all, would recommend.

I actually really like this location. You can park in the parking garage and get your ticket validated - so free parking. I like that this location has 2 stories even though they only have 1 bathroom which is located on the 1st floor. Snacks and drinks are the same as the other Century locations, but since it is located in DOCO, there are plenty of options for food either before or after your movie. Seats recline and are pretty comfortable. I just wish they had the food trays too. The staff is always friendly and interested in what movie we are seeing. I'll be back at this location soon!

Do they have Cheeto popcorn here?

    No they do not

What is the price of the popcorn?

depends on what size you buy. I recommend the medium kettle corn.

Could someone tell me where is the entrance?

There are couple entrances but the one I enter from, next to Century DOCO & XD, there is a parking garage. On the second floor, there is adjoining bridge you can cross to the theater entrance.

This new movie theater or new movie house at DOCO? Does it have Handicap Ramps so one can attend or enjoy the movies!

Yes, they upgraded it using all the Federal required ADA rules and regulations for 2017.

    Parking for DOCO Century?

You can use the Macy's parking lot, park on the fourth floor for easy access to the theater. Century DOCO will validate your parking so it becomes free parking.

Luckily for us in the Sacramento area, we have one of the only forty-one theaters in the world that have the capability to show 70mm film properly. We have the Esquire IMAX Theatre located on K Street in downtown Sacramento. The last film that I felt the draw to watch in 70mm at this theater was the Christopher Nolan classic, Oppenheimer. Well, he is at it again with his release of The Odyssey. I just knew I had to see it there-this film was the event of the year in the movie universe and seeing it anywhere else when we had this option available to us just wasn't going to cut it for me. So I jumped on their website to look for tickets and boom they are pretty much sold out for all the premium showings for weeks-so I bit the bullet and decided to go watch it at 11am on a Friday morning. I am a member of their free rewards program called the Directors Club and with that you get $2 off each ticket purchase. Tickets ended up costing $23 per ticket, which is pretty high but hey it's the movie event of the year. Parking at this theater is mostly a parking garage, but they do give you a discount inside the theater to apply to your parking but it's a long movie so parking still ends up being pretty high. I do love that all seating at the Esquire is reserved seating, so no real rush to get in line or run in and grab your seat. Pro Tip: When selecting seats at this theater, always try to get as far back in the theater as possible and try for closest to center as possible. For this showing I got quite lucky in that I had back row seats and just a few off dead center-I couldn't have asked for much better. The screen in this theaters is unlike anything I will ever get used to-the screen is a massive 6 stories tall-it's truly something to see. The sound is so pure as well-sometimes you feel like you're going to be blasted out of your seat when watching a movie at Esquire. I find the cost of the concessions at this theater are a tad bit cheaper than I experience at Regal in Natomas or Delta Shores. Now the real question that needs to be answered and this is coming from someone who has seen this movie on a regular screen at another theater and on 70mm here at Esquire--Is it worth paying the extra money to see this film on 70mm at Esquire IMAX? The answer is a resounding YES!!! If you have a 70mm theater anywhere near you-run don't walk to that theater as soon as possible and watch this film in all the glory it was intended to be seen and consider yourself lucky to be near one of only 41 theaters on the globe that lets you have this experience. This Esquire IMAX Theatre isn't just another movie theater. It's a destination.

We found the theater to be clean with very comfy & roomy seats. I liked that the button on the side could raise the foot rest & recline the back into whatever position you liked (versus only 2 positions of kicking back or being upright). I also liked that I got my own arm rest. The viewing experience was good. When we got out, there was popcorn spillage in the hall. Not sure how long it would be there, but no employees were around. Pros: The seating was comfortable, the walkways were wide, and the tray tables and recliners were nice. The bar also looked decent, with fair cocktail prices. Cons: Concessions were expensive, which I expected, but what I didn't expect was for my boyfriend to get sick after eating the popcorn. And of course, the bag policy. I didn't bring anything in, so there was no reason to search me other than "their policy." The only times I can think of getting a bag searched are for safety reasons, like TSA, festivals, shows, or the emergency room. For a movie theater, it felt cheap and unnecessary.
