When we arrived, I asked if they took Apple Pay. I was told yes. Throughout the time I tried to purchase any food or beverage, the Apple Pay would not work, even with server assistance. I always have fun bowling here. The service is awesome they are always coming around making sure we have enough water or the drink we have. The food when I do get it is always great it tastes good. My recommendation would be to get the pizza because you have so many options. Bowling, laser tag, arcade, bar and grill, a ball room if it so pleases you, all wrapped up into one facility. I'm probably even forgetting a few things. I'm going to focus on the bowling aspect, since I feel it to be the principal reason most come to visit. I've been to a lot of alleys, most less impressive than this one, and quite a few that don't even compare. Some of the most current tech makes a game seamless and fun, including automatic bumpers if you're playing with those that require them. There's even a private area with several lanes that doubles often as a cosmic bowling room. River City has some of the best deals I've ever seen, including dollar game nights, unlimited packages that pull the arcade and laser tag in, and even free! yes, free bowling some nights. What's not to like about that? The one thing that is sometimes vexing is that there is a fair amount of young staff, and that their age has a tendency to show itself at times with mistakes or longer waiting times. On more than one occasion my bill has been mixed up. It's a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. All things considered, I'm confident most will have a great time here. read more

If you're going for fun and food, I'd pick one or the other. We've come a few times and each time it seems the service keeps getting worse. If you want food, I'd sit and eat in the restaurant for better service before having fun or bowling. We ordered our drinks and appetizers 20 minutes after we started to bowl (that's how long it took before someone came to ask if we wanted to order anything). Our soda came quickly after that, but tasted like the syrup was running out or too much carbonation. EVERYTIME we've been here the soda tastes off or deluded and EVERYTIME I have mentioned it to staff. No changes. So I'd recommend getting your soda from their vending machine by the door if you want a soda that actually tastes like it's suppose to. 20 minutes after our app order I flagged down the server to finish our dinner order. Then 5 minutes later a DIFFERENT server came to ask how things were and I asked what the delay was with the appetizers cause the table next to us ordered after and have their appetizers. Server goes to check and said the appetizers were never put in to order but our main order was. "Do you still want the appetizers?" Couldn't believe she asked that after being there for almost an hour, 15 minutes left on our bowl time, and planned to bowl and eat, then arcade and laser tag. So no lady it's a little late for that. Got our entree order and my Caesar salad was swimming in dressing. I tried to still eat it and couldn't after the first bite. It felt like I put a scoop of dressing and JUST DRESSING in my mouth! YUCK!! Needless to say we will not be back and will happily have a longer commute to a different establishment that has better service. A friend and I went there on Saturday with our girls and I have never seen such poor service with the wait staff. The waitress we had was rude and only took our order after she walked away from us once and I had to asked her to come back. She would not take my 14 yr. old daughter's order, I had to tell her what she wanted. Someone else served our food and we tried to flag her down and she just ignored us after we ordered. I used to be a waitress so I am sorry I did not leave a tip because this is not how you treat customers. I put the total for what we ordered and signed my receipt. In checking my bank online I see I was charged $5 more than my bill was. This is not right and I have called several times, left messages and even filled out there web query with no response. Took my daughters and their friends bowling and the lanes and technology are great. The front desk service was terrible. She was extremely rude when I asked a question, almost dismissive and another employee we interacted with was the same. I went to River City Extreme for my grandson's 4th birthday party. We had drinks, food and 10 grandchildren played in the arcade. The pizzas (4) were delivered to our table. We never received napkins, plates, pizza cady or silverware. The arcade now charges a $2.00 service charge for you per card purchased. We couldn't get them to upload the card so we were forced to pay for each card. The pizzas were sub par. The bartender was very rude and inattentive to us when trying to get drinks. I will have to say this WILL be the last time I patronize this establishment. This is not the 1st time we received a bad experience but will definitely be the last. read more

We love coming to this nice bar! Nice local place in Monti. Good vibe when you walk in. Nice bar with plenty of seating. Attached to this complex is the restaurant and bowling alley. All very nice. Hubs loves the Beer of the Month. That beer (I think) is $3.50 for a pint. Great way to try different types of beer. This is also a great place to bring a large party for birthdays, etc... Plenty of tables! They also bring in top (from time to time) comedians! What a deal! And free parking to boot! A really big space! They have 32 lanes total, an arcade, laser tag, ballrooms, a bar, and then the attached restaurant! Huge! We went for moonlight bowling and had a good time, although we really wanted to play laser tag but it had over an hour wait. I was very pleased with the cleanliness! Usually bowling alleys are more dingy and outdated, but that's not the case at River City. My only complaint is that their drinks are over priced and the waitresses are slow and don't check on you often when you're on the lanes. read more

Went there with my family and the service was really bad. We waited for the server to come and we ended up with subpr pizza. The server came over about two times and we had to keep going up to the counter to get our food. The bald headed bartender was a pathetic person. My mom's wine was sitting up at the counter for 15 minutes because the server never brought it. My girlfriend went up to get it for her and she kindly asked "Can I grab this for my mom it'e been sitting here for a while and she wants it." I have had good and bad experiences here. The first time I visited, my friends and I bowled and had appetizers on the lanes. The apps were good and the lanes here are very nice; probably one of the best bowling alleys I've been to. I have no complaints about this first visit. The second visit, however, was pretty bad. We had dinner and drinks at the restaurant first this time, and planned on bowling after we were done eating. The place was completely dead, but for some reason it took FOREVER for us to get any of our drinks and food. If I remember correctly, I think we waited about 45 minutes for our food, which consisted of salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Once we got the food it was delicious (granted I was starving at this point), but that didn't really make up for the fact that it took so long to get it. As I said, we planned on bowling afterwards, but at this point it was too late and the lanes were going to close so we weren't able to. Overall, I was pretty disappointed. I may consider bowling here again in the future, but I will not be visiting the restaurant again, especially since there are so many other places in town that can get me my food within a reasonable time. read more

Disappointed in the food, service and attitude of the bar/waitstaff. We ordered pizza and appetizers, simple and easy. The pizza came out, no plates until we asked for them. The Apps Were supposed to arrive first but the waiter said the kitchen was busy. So they arrived after the pizza. When they fid arrive the sampler was overcooked, the cheese on the garlic cheese bread looked like a scab that had to be picked off before it could be eaten. Went with a large group. I ordered the tequila lime shrimp. After my first shrimp I could not eat any more. They literally tasted like rubbing alcohol. I was informed they had been marinated for 2 days... clearly they over marinated and didnt cook long enough to burn off the alcohol. Ordered a replacement chicken salad wrap. There was barely any chicken salad in the wrap. Chicken was dry, not much mayo, one grape maybe and a few scant cashews. Another friend got the same wrap and agreed. Finally, my husband ordered a steak, while that was cooked as he wished the vegetables were box mashed potatoes (tasted off too) and broccoli and baby carrots straight from a bag. The baby carrots were not steamed well at all. Another friend ordered some kind of beef grilled cheese. Asked for horseradish sauce on the side. Came drizzled all over it and she had to open the bread to look for the cheese. The name on the menu literally called it a grilled cheese. We have eaten here before an had an ok experience but last nights four menu choices really left our table disappointed. read more

They need more staff, it looks like they need more help. I spent more than $100 on this place today and I don't mind. But staffs need help. Second they are lack of knowledge on customer service. Sometimes they need help how to deal with customers. I saw one customer complaining that they are waiting for lazer tags for long time and the kid that in charge don't know what to say. The alley itself is nice - updated compared to most alleys I've been to and clean. That said, the service is awful. My husband and I rented a lane for an hour and during that time, the server never came over. She served tables at the lanes on either side of us, and stopped to chat at one table for quite awhile, but never once stopped at ours to ask if we wanted to order. We had planned to order dinner and drinks but instead took our business elsewhere after our hour of bowling was up. While I appreciate the manager's offer of a giftcard to use to eat at the bar, if I'd wanted to eat in the bar, I would've done that in the first place. They weren't busy either, which made it that much more frustrating. We won't be back. read more

Bowling at RCE was a good experience. The venue was clean, and the electronic/automated bowling lanes were a nice upgrade when compared to the older equipment at some bowlers. We found the initial service at the main desk to be helpful & informative. The selection of bowling shoes is nice & we had no complaints. The selection of various sized bowling balls was also very nice considering it was a Friday night & all the lanes were rented. We bowled for 90 minutes @ ~$48. I thought the price was high, also considering shoe rentals were extra. We initially had to flag down a server to just let her know we were new, but after that she was attentive to stop periodically for drink & food orders. We ordered the Chi-town deluxe as a 12" as she mentioned they were out of 16" crust; however, when we got our pizza it was certainly a 16". Get the pizza just for the crust - so good! Because we thought the pizza was 12" we also got the wonton taco appetizer listed on a flyer inside the venue, and they were 3 small tacos that were so good! It didn't end up being too much extra & we could easily take part of the pizza to go. We found the food & drinks were reasonably priced & liked being able to pay at our table at the end of the night. read more

If you want to find a establishment to bowl league on, avoid this place. They do nothing to cater to there league bowlers. The service is only good if you get one of the two decent waitresses. If you can't make a league night and would like to make up, they don't let you reserve a couple lanes to make up lanes. You have first come first serve with the general public. As far as the food, they change the menu every couple months. So if you find something you enjoy eating, you better not get used to it. And if you plan on drinking mixed drinks, I would recommend not. Not only do you get charged for the alcohol but you also get charged for the soda. Oh and tack on a extra 9.88% alcohol tax. The service was horrible. The waitress was not very attentive to our needs. We waiting 20 minutes to get our drinks, we had to wait about 45 minutes for our food, in which we had to send a meal back for it being incorrect as well as getting a burger that was burnt. In which came later than the rest of the meal and if we weren't also bowling we would have left. The manager seemed ticked that we even complained. He didn't offer to comp any of the meal or seem to care to much. The waitress at the end if our stay gave us 10% off but at that point we were pretty ticked. We will not be back. read more

During the winter months we like to do birthdays at River City Extreme because we have always had good experience in the past and it's a good family time. Yesterday however, we were celebrating my son's 7th birthday and to begin with the young man that was helping us get checked in was wonderful, but then had a question for another staff member, who was rude to the boy as well as didn't even make eye contact with me or even give me the respect to respond or engage in conversation. After that, when I went to get a smaller shoe size this same young man made it very clear that I was taking up his time. I had to hunt down a waitress to get an order for food, then we had to run all over the place just trying to get some pop refills, of which we were told by the same man as mentioned above that we had to have a server get them, could not find a server to save our life, even though it was not busy at all. It took us over 20 minutes to hunt down a person to fill the pop pitchers and even then the service was not appropriate. Then the waitress came to me and handed me my credit card slip and said, "I need you to sign this now, because I am leaving." All in all, this single experience has ruined this establishment for me. read more

I cannot say enough bad things about this establishment. Bowling on the leagues for years have always been the highlight of the week. The facility is very nice and kept pretty well, with the exception of the bathrooms. On leagues, almost no waitstaff, food lately has been sub par at best. You can't mention the service or food is bad as the general manager will only belittle you and say they he don't care and won't do anything about it. He will only give excuses. And tell you too bad. This year will be most of our leagues last year there.Growing up in a family that bowls it is known that to a bowling establishment their leagues are their "bread & butter". Money and customers they are guaranteed. You always treat all of your customers great but leagues better. Wanted to try out this place after we heard about it from our friends. The place is great for kids and adults. They have bowling, arcades, laser tag, pool table. Great place for children's to enjoy themselves, while the adults have alcohol. They have a few extra bowling lanes for the cosmic bowling. The laser tag is fun for family entertainment. They even do birthday reservations. Parking is average size. The foods was okay. They serve pizza and other foods on the menu. The arcade is cheap starting at just 25 cents and up. The good part is on Tuesday they have cheap bowling lane at just 1 dollar a game. Overall it's been a good experience for kids and family time. read more
