I think I called almost every tire shop in the tri-state. Nobody sold winter tires and even if they did, they dang sure weren't going to stud them for me. Nick and his team were the only ones willing to help me out! I stopped in an hour before close (as quick as I could get there with work), with a tall order (Mount, balance, & stud tires, put them on my Subaru with new locking lugs). Nick and his team were kind enough to go the extra mile to get me taken care of, even if it meant staying after closing. They even marked my summer tires so that I could put them back on in the same spot. I appreciate the heck out of this shop! Highly recommend! read more

I had my car inspected here. My car had 4 locking lug nuts on it when I took it in. I also had a key for the lugs. Now I have 1 lock nut and no key to remove it. I don't know what happened that 3 were replaced with standard lug nut and my key to no longer be with my vehicle. I have since replaced the key for 20 dollars. I really wish the service team would have communicated with me about the locks. This way I could have made the decision about my car. read more

Place is horrible! Had them fix some oil leaks from valve covers and VVT gasket. Also had them look at my AC to fix a leak also. They replaced the gaskets for oil leaks, or so I thought. As for the AC... they never stopped the leak, yet filled the system with freon, twice, and sent me on my way. They pull a vacuum, which would have shown it was still leaking, which means "Do Not Fill With Freon". Guess they needed that $$ for each fill. They also broke the tube coming off my air filter to throttle body, and tried hiding it with black electric tape. Luckily I noticed it and took it back down when I went back over the AC headache. I pointed it out to mechanic and he ordered the part time replace it which was good on "his" part. Bad thing is the owners husband lied to me about it sayn they weren't tryn to cover it up, and that a new part was ordered. Well he didn't get there until a few hrs after I showed up and the mechanic had already ordered the part. Had to tell him to shut up and quit lying to me. That's when I knew exactly what I was dealing with. This all happened within the yr... I took my vehicle to two reputable Shops here in town, and both said my valve covers are pouring oil, and the VVT may need replacing again also. It's all covered in oil so hard to tell now until its cleaned and we can see if its leaking there also. I knew not to go to this place, because of the stories I had heard beforehand, but myself and the guy I work with (which is their neighbor) was remodeling their costumers bathroom, and we had built a bath for their mechanics. So with is taking care of their plumbing issues, and the other work with the bathrooms, I figured they'd do me right. Well less than a yr, and less than 4000 miles, all the work they done is gonna cost me around $1000 to fix. If not more... Oh yeah, between tips, and the bill... I gave them just over $1000. Sorry about the rant, and wish I could have went into better detail, but stay away from this place if you're needn mechanical work done. Hell I wouldn't even trust em with my tires. If they're going to do shiesty work on my car, with my boss being their neighbor, and us working on their building at the time... they'll definitely do sorry work for a stranger. Its gonna cost you twice as much doing it the second time around. If I could, I would have given them 0 stars.. but then I wouldn't have been able to leave this review. So the 1 star is a BS! This is something these reviews sites need to work on. Because we shouldn't be forced to give them 1 star in order to leave a review, especially when that one star they get isn't even worthy of being given. read more

We had an emergency while towing our boat. A seal in a tire leaked with black smoke and overheating. River Cities took us right in and diligently worked to find the correct replacement seal, clean the wheel and get us back on the road. Staff was incredibly nice and kept us informed of progress. I grew up in Huntington, went to the old Huntington High and attended Marshall. I am posting this review on behalf of my 82 year old mother who lives on a fixed income. On June 2, 2020, she went to River Cities Tire on 145 West Third Ave for an oil change. After she left, all the oil drained out of her car and ruined her engine. They had forgotten to put the oil filter and oil pan bolt back on. She went in with a perfectly-running Toyota Camry and ended up with no transportation. In the end, all that River Cities did was give her what their insurance company felt the worth of the car to be. Even though I made multiple phone calls and pleaded for them to make it right so she could at least have some money to purchase another car, they refused. In fact, their local insurance agent worked with them to not give my mother any more money! In the end, it took nearly 2 months for them to even get the small amount of insurance money to her. When my mother shared this story with others, several mentioned similar treatment from the same business. One even recommended suing them. So, if you are looking for tires, repairs, or, heaven forbid, an oil change, we would highly recommend you try somewhere else and avoid the poor service, unfair treatment, financial loss, and personal stress of an experience with River Cities Tire. read more

Went and got tires on my car now my tire sensor is messed up and my whole front end is shaking really bad

Took my son's car to get a new tire because it was flat and also get an inspection sticker. I was told that I needed to get all new tires in order to pass inspection. I was confused because I had just bought 4 new tires there the year before . Asked them what the warranty was on the old tires they said 40-50k miles. My son's car was only driven 8k in the year. Told them it was impossible to have to get 4 new tires and they said I needed to have my receipt from when I got the new tires last year. Asked if they can look in their system to check and they told me they do everything by paper trail and they would have to go in their upstairs and go through all of the paperwork to find it. Basically, I ended up paying for the tires because I didn't have my old receipt. I feel like I got screwed and that any car shop (especially in 2021) that does maintenance should have some type of computerized system to keep track of their work and customers. I have always felt like River Cities was an honest place to take your vehicle in for anything and now my whole perception has changed. I will take my vehicles elsewhere from here on out and hopefully can find an honest shop and honest mechanics to fix my vehicles (if there is such a thing). read more

Got my tires rotated today. They were cheap and relatively quick, but when I got home, I noticed that my center console had been rummaged through, and $3-5 worth of quarters were taken out of my change purse. Beware. read more

All I ever want from an automotive shop is fair and this place is it. I always hear people wanting to find a "cheap" shop for repairs. There is a reason those shops are cheap and it is their work is sub standard. River Cities will always do just what needs to be done (not extra) and nothing more. Tire prices are the same as anywhere but do have any hidden fees. read more
