My first experience at River Heights cleaners will also be my last. I took a large batch of clothes to be cleaned (approximately 15 items in total). Both men's and women's clothes. Some were to be laundered, some dry cleaned. When I got my clothes back, it looked as if nothing had been washed. Clothes were iron and/or pressed, but dirt and stains (common stains, not blood or wine) were on almost every item. Even the ironing on multiple pairs of pants was done poorly (wrinkles and creases 2-3 inches away from the middle crease in the leg). I took in 6 items, as an example, to show them. I showed them shirts and pants. Some items that were laundered and some that were dry cleaned. The supervisor wasn't particularly helpful. She wasn't mean, necessarily, but she wasn't exactly bending of backwards to help me (She seemed a bit perturbed at me). She told me that if I wanted stains removed from my dress shirts I needed to specify that and to specify that they were to be dry cleaned, not laundered and that laundering is simply washing them. Side note: This isn't true. Laundering cotton dress shirts is better for removing stains and uses less chemicals than dry cleaning cotton shirts, which will allow your shirt to last longer. It's all a quick Google search away... I spoke to the manager on the phone, who was nice enough, but didn't waiver either and kept telling me that the work had been done. I told him that the clothes simply weren't clean and it was very obvious to the naked eye. He said, "the clothes were cleaned, they just don't look clean to you." He also mentioned that he has over 500 customers and has never had a complaint like this. A claim that is easily proven false as evidenced by all of these reviews! While the store offered to re-do my clothes without charge, I wasn't comfortable leaving them there again. On top of the fact that I only brought in the representative 6 articles of clothing to show them and the other 8 or 9 were at home and I wasn't going to go back and forth all day getting clothes to this dry cleaner. Before leaving, with the cashier and supervisor still there, I asked another customer, a woman, to look at two pieces of clothing and if they looked clean to her. It took her all of 2 seconds to see the stains and dirt and she shook her head aggressively. Conclusion: This is a poor dry cleaner and laundering business. There are many more around Tampa that are far superior. Maybe their prices are a bit better, but the quality is the worst of any dry cleaner I've ever taken clothes to. This is the first time in 20 years of using dry cleaners that I've ever taken an article of clothing back to complain. read more

The address of this place is 3918 N. Boulevard St. Yelp keeps changing it, and I keep correcting it. This is not the closest dry cleaner to my house, but it was the closest to my old house, which is how I started bringing my clothes here. They never messed anything up: no broken buttons, no weird creases, no melted fabrics, no cracked beads, so I've kept using them. A good dry cleaner is hard to find sometimes! We've had men's and women's dress shirts, a men's suit, and a sequined women's dress (stained with bacon grease and sugar from a Yelp event at Datz) cleaned here and all came back in great shape. Please avoid this dry cleaner. I've had numerous issues over the past 6 months with their services and they always come up with different excuses. Recap of issues: 1) Shirts returned with smashed buttons on at least 6 different occasions (apparently its the machine they use) 2) Clothes returned with stains (machine used) 3) In correct services provided (laundering clothes when dry cleaning was requested) They have always fixed whatever issues that I've brought to their attention but charging me for services that I did not request was the last straw. Dropping off my dry cleaning at Riverside Heights has become a hassle and far outweighs their convenient location. read more

Broken buttons, torched shirts, billing errors. Seems to all stem from under appreciated employees. Clear signs of out of touch ownership.

Stay away from this place. I brought my boyfriends suit and shirt in to be cleaned before a wedding. Thank goodness I looked at it before I left, there was hair that isn't even his hair color or mine and looks to resemble dog hair all over his suit. I brought it in to get the stain out of the collar however the stain wasn't removed and there was another one when I picked it up. Also the snagged some thread and ripped the whole back of the $80 shirt. To add insult to injury as I was looked at like there is nothing more we can do they had me pay for the shirt that they couldn't clean and that they ruined. Didn't know that the $3 a shirts coat to clean would cost me another $83. First and last time here. Take the time to look for a better cleaners. read more

Location is very convenient. Employees are friendly, prompt and quick service. I've taken dresses, clothes, pants and shirts: stains have been removed, and no damage done so far. I've also taken a few comforters & coats. I use their services 2-4x a few months at a time and haven't disappointed me. read more

I went here because their priced were low. The problem is that their washing machines chew the buttons off dress shirts. They say that they happily replace shirt buttons. But my only attempt failed. They took the newly cleaned, but buttonless, shirt promising to fix it. When I returned to pick it up, it had been recleaned, but remained buttonless. They then explained to me that they would only replace buttons on shirts within 48 hrs. of pick up and only if their laundry tag was in place. They would not release the shirt to me until I paid for the second cleaning. I understand the need for their policy, But, they took the shirt from me under the pretense that it would be repaired free of charge. Instead, I had to pay for a needless reclean and still had a damaged shirt. The bottom line is that they strip buttons off shirts at a high rate and provide no satisfaction for the damage. If that is tolerable, them go to it. I have had enough. Since this incident, I have Googled "River Heights Dry Cleaners Tampa Review" and have only seen bad reviews. The Better Business Bureau has inquired into some complaints, but has gotten no response from the cleaners. read more

I went to the Florida Ave location and discovered two missing buttons on the front of the dress. I understand that mistakes happen, and while they could've been replaced (it's simple white buttons) I wasn't offered a refund by the manager. However, the clerk Kimberly was kind enough to offer to sew replacement buttons at no extra charge and I appreciated it. Still wouldn't risk returning to this location considering I have other dresses of greater value. They are "not held responsible" and it shows in the carelessness in handling. read more
