I started coming in 2019, because my previous laser hair removal place went under, took my money, and didn't do the best job. Amazing results for first experience! I used River Oaks Med Spa at a satellite location as they were hosting a filler party. They were offering $9 a unit. There were 2 nurses on location as well as a handful of the office staff and one of the owners. I was quite impressed how many workers came out on an evening to host this event. The owner introduced himself and everyone was warm and extremely friendly. This was my FIRST time receiving Botox and as you can imagine I was extremely nervous. The nurse (I wish I could remember her name) was extremely knowledgable and came with several years experience. She was gentle and talked me through every step. She assured me everything would come out beautifully and oh my gosh did it ever! She only used 17 units (I was quite shocked because I am 40 and I was so sured I'd need so much more). The obviously don't overkill or shoot you with more than you need. The results are amazing. She explained it would take up to a week to see the full results which was exactly how it happened - one week. I don't remember the name of the injector I went to. There are two of them there. I had lip injections at my plastic surgeon office. My lips looked horrible. I mean bad. I had a large protruding top lip that was super asymmetrical and the filler never desolved. It's a scary thing to go to someone after you had that happen. Because your afraid that it will be worse. I went there and they were pleasant. She looked at me and my horrible lip situation and listen to me. My fears and concerns. We went slow. Meaning she only used half the syringe to see how it would turn out. I opted to go that way. Instead of something too drastic. Then you wait 2 weeks till swelling goes down and go back for the other half. She was also able to make my bottom lip larger so the top one didn't look so large. All of this was natural looking though. I didn't leave having large clown lips or looking crazy. I think taking it slow at least for me in my situation worked well. I also got Botox there as well. She was amazing. I had it in my forehead around my eyes and lower face to help get rid of my ever present Resting Bitch Face (RBF I can't help it. That's just the way my face looks.) My face wasn't frozen and I can still make expressions. Just without all the lines and I don't look like I'm constantly scowl. So that lady was really great. read more

My usual injector lady Tiffany at Basu wasn't available and I had an event in a few days, so I called River Oaks Medspa and luckily there was an opening same day. I saw the lady that was expecting (forgot her name) for some neurotoxin for my forehead and a bit around my eyes. She said Dysport would kick in fastest in time for my event so I agreed to try that. After telling me exactly what i would need she quoted me around $500. I thought it was high compared to how much I usually spend on neurotoxin for the same areas. I'm in my early 30's so honestly don't need much and my forehead is already pretty smooth. I just didn't want the creases when I lifted my brows. Anyway I agreed to the price because they were basically my only option since my injector and other really good places were booked up leading up to my event. The dysport helped some but didn't completely get rid of the creases. My brows were still super mobile. I got in around 2 weeks after my large dose of neurotoxin to get a touch up. I saw a different lady who suggested Botox might work better. She went ahead and injected me and then directed me to the front desk where they told me that it would be $200. Now this was a touch up appointment. I called specifically saying this was a touch up, I told the injector this was a touch up... and then I got blindsided when they told me... "ummm no hun.. a touch up is only 4-5 units total". Interesting. This was not communicated to me when I called to come back in or when I was sitting in the chair before being injected Needless to say I was stunned and feeling taken advantage of. I told the front desk person that it didn't seem right that I should spend another $200 to fix something that was already $500 (again higher than what I've ever spent on these areas). He said "oh well, there's nothing I can do, hun. Sorry." I said I would leave a review about my experience. Others must have heard me say that because what looked like a nurse with an overfilled face came straight out of the woodwork and said she'd be reviewing my before and after photos. I said okay and took a seat. She came back and asked me to follow her. She quickly and quietly ushered me into a back room where she and the injector asked me to take a seat. She introduced herself as the owner and asked me to explain what was going on, so I did. She then began to ask me a series of questions- almost like interrogating me as if I was to blame for something. She then asked me what I wanted her to do about it. I felt a little creeped out by her confrontational attitude and all of her questions so I merely suggested she could offer me a credit for half of today's visit(what should have been a touch up!!) she smiled and said she would think about it and give me a call. I sat there feeling a little bit mindfucked at this point. Done with the lack of solution-based chit chats, I decided to get up and respectfully show myself out. And of course after waiting at least 3 weeks for a phone call that never came, here I am writing about my experience. I thought it would be FAIR to at least give them a chance to fix things, but the fact that they didn't just confirms exactly what I thought during my second visit- this medspa DOESN'T play fair or seem to follow any ethical rules. So these are my tips if you choose to visit here. Keep your guard up. Know what the going rate is for neurotoxin prices and when administered by a nurse or doctor. Don't pay doctor prices for a nurse. Don't let them tell you that this dose is a "mini" dose. That's bullshit. Make sure you ask them to calculate the total cost before they inject you. And if you need a touch up, make sure it is complimentary! I have never had to pay for a touch up before in the 10 years I've been getting injected. Just be cautious because it seems they take advantage of the affluent area. Good luck! read more

Using a mirror, she has you go over your whole face; Anything you have questions or concerns about, she addresses. We sat and just talked for at least 20 minutes, going over everything I wanted to know, which was fantastic. She asked questions, she gave advice, she spent more time with me listening than any other practitioner has before, and I've gone to several offices previously getting different things done.
