I am a very beginner golfer so take my review with a grain of salt, but I had a good experience here! I was with a group of 7, so we split up into a group of 4 and 3 for our tee times. I also rented clubs and thought everything was pretty reasonably priced, everything seemed to be maintained pretty well and there was a fun variety if terrain for each hole. It was raining lightly when we first came, and if it's raining when you start golfing there's no rain check (which makes sense). The workers are kind and explain everything in depth to you. There's also a restaurant/bar which is a nice place to stop by after golfing. Very nice course for a reasonable price.Stayed at Foxwoods and was itching to play. Good pace of play. Challenging course but not killer like the big boys in the area and for less than half the price. Jeff in the pro shop is a great guy. Very easy to get tee times. read more

This is my favorite local course, of many very good options. Superb layout with wonderful variety of holes, in very good condition. Very reasonably priced especially if you enjoy walking. (Fair warning: It is a bit hilly.) Good availability for foursomes, if you call ahead, and walking on as a single is usually no problem. Played this course today for the 2nd time. All I can say is this course is amazing from the pro shop to the course conditions to the food and drinks in the pub! Excellent in all aspects! The 18-hole "River Ridge" course at the River Ridge Golf Course facility in Jewett City, Connecticut features 6,535 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 70.6 and it has a slope rating of 126 on Bent grass. Spring special on the weekend of $46.00 with cart. Not a bad price at all. The course is in great shape and the people that run the place are really nice. Not really a course to walk as there are several holes that have severe elevation changes, either up or down. Clubhouse is nice and the food is good. Given its proximity to both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, River Ridge is a good choice for bachelor parties. read more

Great track. Not long, but still has challenges for every skill level. Tee boxes need some love. Greens are pretty true. Not much break or undulation. Fairways maintained very well. Par 3s are awesome. I love this place and before the leagues go out, it's always pretty clear during the week. If you aren't accurate, the woods will get you on several holes. Never had the food. And the price point with a cart is very good. Worth the trip if you're in the area. read more

Shorter course with tricky but true greens. Rewards accuracy Charles rustici designed an interesting course nestled in the woods of CT. This is a solid course for SE CT. They run pretty good specials, and the course has wide variety of holes. Bring your bug spray as it is very buggy. Conditions are very good, and the greens run smooth and consistent. For an area that has limited golf (New London, Waterford, East Lyme offer no full length public options), and where golf prices are a bit high because of this lack of competition, for me, this is the best course. read more

Joke of a management operation. Course in decent shape , but no food options when you arrive for an AM round. No bar options either . Post round, attempted to eat lunch and have a few beers. Orders were completely messed up, coming out late and too many servers for such a small crowd. Seemed very disorganized and kitchen could not handle the orders. read more

Kathi and I have had breakfast there several time in the past and we did again today. Each time the food was very good and the service always pleasant and prompt. Today I had the steak and eggs and Kathi had the hash and eggs. Keep in mind though breakfast is only service on Sundays. read more

We arrived at this course with a certificate for a discount but were told it would be 5$ more than listed. This is despite the fact that we were told we had to walk with our bags for two holes due to wet conditions. No concession was made for 4 senior citizens. Many of the greens were in terrible shape and the staff here did not apologize for anything. I would not play this course again with a free play read more

Great fun course. Holes are not long (I usually play white tees -- 6142 yds.). The greens are very true, but have subtle breaks & can be tricky. Not a lot of water, so should not lose a lot of balls. Very enjoyable staff in the clubhouse and the restaurant. read more

Went today. Great course. Not informed when we first got there that leagues would be lining up at 4 pm. At the turn hit a terrible backup. At least 5 to 6 foursomes at the 1 and 10 hole.Tried to get raincheck for 9 holes and were basically told too bad soo sad. Bill in the pro shop very unprofessional, too bad because course was great. Recommend getting in early ot be at the turn by 330. read more
