My pregnancy and postpartum experience with Willow was far from supportive. The model of seeing a new midwife each appointment left the care disjointed, and I found myself at my 36 week appointment explaining my previous pregnancy condition with yet another new midwife. The midwife on call when I went into labor I'd never met. Granted , COVID changed everything, but they cut most in person prenatal visits completely. Phone calls aren't the same. Care felt rushed and reactive, not guiding and proactive like my first pregnancy at another birth center. The huge bill I received was a big surprise too-- one I could/ would have avoided had I known there would be an $8000 outpatient facility fee. That was in addition to the other ~$7000 of planned and expected charges. Sure wish that information was made available to me BEFORE the birth. Postpartum care was nonexistent. Was told ' sorry we let you down" but essentially you're on your own. Not thrilled, and won't be recommending this birth center.

I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant and have had all my prenatal appointments (and a couple regular…read morefemale health appointments prior to pregnancy) at this center. I have had nothing but good experiences here with the staff and nurses. No issues with making appointments, and lab tests have all been handled timely and easily. I'm a tough stick for blood draws and haven't had issues with lab techs not being able to draw blood. I ADORE my OB at this practice, Dr. Margaret Enadeghe. She is the first OB I've had who's taken the time to listen and respond to every single one of my and my partner's questions. Even when I nervously ask the same question multiple times over several visits! We are never rushed, however long she needs to spend with us to make us feel comfortable and informed, she does. She's a lovely person and a new mom herself, and happy to share her experiences tackling motherhood, which I've really appreciated as I'm becoming a first-time mom as well. Also, for folks who have ED/body dysmorphia issues, Dr. Enadeghe is incredibly sympathetic. I have disordered eating and was really worried I'd be tempted to restrict calories because of pregnancy weight gain. Thankfully, Dr. Enadeghe told me there was no need for me to even LOOK at the scale when they weighed me. She said she would inform me if anything was out of the ordinary, and assured me that the number on the scale wasn't a concern. This approach really helped me and made me much less anxious about my body's changes during pregnancy. I also really like the policies put in place by the clinic. I think they try to stay on top of current academic research and are consistently changing their protocols, instead of just sticking with antiquated methods. Quick example: I'm a research junkie and learned there's relatively new data that states it can be beneficial to the newborn to delay cord cutting after birth. This helps with hemoglobin levels and a bunch of other stuff. I asked Dr. Enadeghe about this and she said it was standard policy for the clinic to delay cord cutting.

I've seen several…read moreclinic doctors, worked with Kim the Dietitian and Charet the physical therapist and feel that their comprehensive approach and "team work" nature serves patients in the very best way possible. Dr. Matthew Palmer is my primary at the clinic and after 12 years of poor treatment from another well-known clinic in the Twin Cities Dr. Palmer diagnosed me with stage 3 endometriosis and completed a comprehensive laparoscopic excision surgery. He is a true surgical genius and recognized nationally for his training and expertise in endo and excision. I have referred several patients to seek his care and everyone has left feeling "heard" for the first time in their lives. My husband and our families enjoy his soft spoken, kind and sensitive approach. I have never met a doctor who listens the way Dr. Palmer does. I also think a very unique feature of this clinic is their "team" approach to your care. Dr. Palmer is the endo/excision specialist but when we were facing infertility he referred us to Dr. McEvoy at the clinic who is the resident "fertility expert." I found this approach incredibly refreshing and it proved once more that Dr. Palmer is focused on providing the best patient care NOT his ego. Like any business I've had a couple bumps with trying to schedule things or a receptionist who may have been having a bad day, but the care here is second to none and we are all human. I'm there so often many of the nurses say hello by name and they truly make me feel at home no matter which location I visit.

Very rude employees. Unprofessional ultrasound tech. Super b++chy! Everyone on phones! Zero stars!read more

This was our first child and the entire experience was new for us. We wanted a more holistic and natural birth while still assisted by trained and educated professionals. The entire Roots staff made us feel welcomed, cared for, and most importantly--heard. Their center provided many opportunities for free educational classes and opportunities to meet other families going through the same process we were. Every appointment felt personal and included extra time to focus on talking through our questions, concerns, and the emotional feelings of the pregnancy and preparing for the delivery. The birthing experience was more than I could have hoped for. I was surrounded by support and understanding in a warm and comforting environment. I felt that everyone advocated for my best interest and the wishes I had shared when the situation arose. I never felt scared of birth, I went in to it feeling fully prepared and ready. Extra ready, because this baby was was almost a full two weeks late! My labor was long but beautiful and intensely personal. We can't say enough how thankful we are for Roots helping us guide our healthy boy into this world . It is an experience we will never take for granted and if fortunate enough, would return again!
