The parking here is very limited and it is a bit of a challange to get in and out of the parking lot. Many people say this is their favorite spot to eat and it seems a lot of folks come here nearly daily to get their World Deli fix taken care of. It was hard to choose a gelato flavor and they do give small samples. I went with the cookies and cream and it was yummy. Very creamy and flavorful. We can't wait to go back when it's cooler so that we can sit outside and enjoy the view. The associates were all friendly and helpful. And there's a butcher shop right around the back as well.

Well, this little mom and pop store beside the highway in Mid-city is about as authentic as it comes, but not for poboys, for Cuban food. I can say with confidence that they do the best Cuban sandwich in NOLA. And it costs less than $5. They are super fast. Expect to be in and out in 5 minutes every time. Sin falta. Fastest Cuban granny this side of the Florida straits! They also do a first rate hot lunch: beans and rice, yuca with mojo, roast pork, and flan. Ropa vieja. Anything Cuban, they'll do it. Pre-Katrina it was a full scale operation, but the grandma who forms the foundation for the enterprise now just does food to go at the back of the grocery store.
