While it wasn't exactly cheap, they restored all of the files on the USB drive including the ones I had lost on my computer. That was great. Also, last year our computer was acting up and running slow so I brought it here. They did a scan of the hard drives and reformatted parts of the storage so that we had more free space (so our computer wouldn't crash every time we needed to do something) and removed some programs we didn't need (after consulting with us first). A number of national chain stores have claimed to recycle the heavy plastic bags that are used as…read moremailers. Target is one of those businesses. I was so delighted when I recently showed up at the Target on the 3rd Avenue Extension to discover that the Walmart's claims were true. I didn't know what the recycling bin would look like. So I asked for help and I found the staff to be gracious. They walked me over to the recycling area which was neat and well maintained. The bin was empty and ready to accept donations. I believe strongly in sustainability and reducing my carbon footprint. I've been looking for recyclers in the Capital Region. Sometimes, I get disappointed. There are chain stores (should I name them all?) which claim to recycle but do a poor job of it. Their employees are nasty and their bins are dirty, neglected and overflowing. I'm happy to share the good news that both this Target at the Shoppes at Greenbush Commons as well as the nearby Walmart Supercenter are accepting plastic mailers for recycling and their employees have been welcoming. The recycling process time consuming and expensive. It's nice to know that some large businesses are giving back.

Alas, we did not have the discount code loaded properly and... Hailey to the rescue. She swiped and tapped a few things with the kiddo and we saved and extra spot of cash. Store is easy to navigate, clean, and everything was stocked. Good area and staff was nice to interact with. With Hailey going above-and-beyond to ensure we have a super-positive experience in getting the discount we qualified for, it hit all the right points to make the experience perfect. Stopped by the Front Desk manager to tell them the same and they said to fill out the survey on the receipt-- did that, too. We'll be sure to visit this Target for future needs because of that experience.

I moved to this area and into my house just over 3 months ago. My gas oven started making an odd…read morenoise when coming up to temperature. Once at desired temp, no noise was made. I took the bottom of the oven apart and watched the flame when I turned it on. The flame would go up and back down, over and over until it reached the temperature. I took a video of this, showed it to a family member who recommended I go to Rensselaer Appliance. I went there the next morning and was told that they didn't sell that brand of appliance but would order the part and install it. I was quoted a price and then asked if I would be putting good money into something that it would be better to replace. Bottom line was fix it. The service tech that came was Mike. He was polite, professional, thorough and obvious to me he knew exactly what he was doing. When it came to pay, the invoice did not have a breakout of the cost of the part nor labor. When I questioned this, Mike very politely said charges are by the job and if I had questions I should call the store which I did after he left. (I had no problem with Mike, he was just doing his job.) I spoke with the owner asking for the cost of the part and was told he didn't know what it was that he had ordered it. I asked wouldn't there be paperwork for that and he said he would have to look into it and call me back. When he called back he was not courteous nor pleasant in any way especially when I questioned the charge for labor. Mike was here, start to finish for 45 minutes. The labor cost for a 45 minute repair was $279.54. When I questioned (the owner) this he told me they charge by the job and the next time to go somewhere else! He was extremely professional, rude and condescending to me and yes Bob, I will go elsewhere and never set foot in your store again. I was very, very disappointed, to say the least with this overall experience and how I was treated. As an fyi, I have never written a review about any business prior to this. I was treated so unprofessionally, I just could not let this go unspoken.

I wanted a new television for my basement to go over my workbench. I didn't care as much about resolution, upgraded speaker quality, etc. as it was a little-used television that I listened to more than watched while working on projects. I am not really tech savvy (nearly everything I was looking for was what my wife told me I needed, as I have trouble just getting the remotes to work) so I decided to come here first. The person I talked to was very helpful. He showed me a couple of televisions that would work but one was way more expensive than I needed (his words actually) and the other was so basic that various apps couldn't be installed onto it. He apologized but couldn't recommend spending a lot on a tv here when a cheap Asian import at Walmart would work a lot better. I appreciated his honesty and advice. If I need a really nice television, I will trust the people here.

Having opted for a family membership with my partner, we've brought my spawn here several times. The kids space is pretty well set up. It would be nice if it were staffed a little more. I'd actually say that's one of the things the space lacks, is clear staffing. Everyone I've met so far has been friendly, and helpful. Very nice. The location is really central. Parking is the only real pain, weekends are pretty convenient. Lots of nearby food and beverage. Nibble moved in right next door. It's a great space.

Do yourself a favor and stop in here if you are in the market for a computer. Get local service and support, get a good product at a good price, and support a local business. Computer Answers is located in the corner of the Price Chopper/Columbia Plaza strip mall on Columbia Turnpike (9&20). You may not have noticed it, but it is worth seeking out. Bright blue LED lights are now installed around the shop windows to help draw your eye. Inside, the store itself is a no-nonsense tech-oriented shop that skips the mood lighting, Muzak, and other frills. What it offers instead is excellent service for computer sales, repairs, and upgrades. Computer Answers offers good values with a selection of refurbished desktop and laptop computers with warranties at good prices. So, why buy a computer here, instead of online, for from a big retail or a Big Box store? Here is my first hand experience as a reason: I was helped with my purchase decisions by Kevin who works in the shop during daytime hours. Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with information about the computers offered for sale. What differentiates Computer Answers from the normal retail store is on-the-spot personalized service. I wanted to upgrade the laptop from its standard 4 GB of memory to 8 GB. Kevin quoted me a great price, and 10 minutes later, two name brand 4GB memory boards were installed in the laptop.. Kevin pointed out that the 32-bit OEM version of the Windows 10 operating system installed on the computer could only utilize 4GB of memory. So, Kevin is upgrading the the operating system to the 64-bit system so that I will get the value I paid for for the memory upgrade. Thanks, Kevin. I don't think a Big Box store would offer such knowledge and service. Oh, yeah, and Microsoft Office came per-installed and registered on the computer. That's not a 30-day trial either, that's usable software included in the purchase price. The shop offers a 6 month warranty with a computer purchase, and up to three-year warranties are available if desired. They will also migrate files from your old computer to your new one as part of the purchase price. I heartily recommend that you check out Computer Answers in East Greenbush as part of your research when shopping for a new computer. I am glad I did.
