Despite being an H&R customer for more than a decade, I was treated like a giant pain when I asked for the specific tax preparer who'd done my taxes the year before. But now I am grateful to that rude old goat because I contacted Waterfront to do them instead. I was able to get an almost immediate appointment with a professional who was friendly and helpful. The taxes were done in less than an hour, by a CPA (rather than simply a "tax preparer.") He accessed every legal deduction and gave me solid advice for next year. I can't believe I've been going to H and R Block for years, getting just adequate service, sometimes grudgingly. James Fritz, in the Silverdale office quickly did my taxes, saved me money, and then charged HALF of what H&R Block has been charging me! (to my fault I should have reviewed their work but that's why I hired them so I didn't have to) well turns out they completely left off a W2 and I owed more in taxes. the IRS hit me with a roughly 1,000 dollar penalty which they "paid" by doing my taxes this year free and refunding my 2021 tax fee. but because of their error I was responsible for a 470 dollar interest fee that they would not cover. so be prepared to review all of their work. if an error happens regardless If it was their fault, you will be responsible for the interest owed because of their error in addition to the tax you owe. I told them I would not have incurred the interest because I would have paid my full tax bill had it been prepared correctly, but they said that was policy. So unless they correct this policy I would look elsewhere for a more reputable company that takes responsibility for errors of their service. Respectfully I typically do not write reviews but because their error cost me an additional cost of almost 500 dollars and the IRS headache I was not a satisfied customer.

I had to introduce myself to my bookkeeper, weeks after I was told who it would be. Weeks would pass, and I'd look up, from my extremely busy business (there's a reason I need a bookkeeper!), and no word from anyone at this firm. I really hate having to babysit adults. That's what I was constantly doing with Clear Accounting. I laid out my discontent to them about lack of communications and output, and said I had 2 reasonable expectations - timely communications and reporting. But then the same thing happened. Since last Dec. I received one report from them - ONE - which they extracted from data they imported from my previous firm, and sputtered around with two different bookkeepers. I left them mid-May 2020, and the firm I went to communicated with me more in 2 days, then Clear Accounting did in 6 mos. That is not an exaggeration. When I asked for a few months refund back, I was told some explanation about how they had worked "X" number of hours on my account.....Yeah, right. They get the autopay setup, and that happens like clockwork. Nothing else about this firm is that way.

Recently, I have attempted to get a response on yet another IRS letter threatening to lien my company. I have emailed once a week waiting for a response. That was 7 weeks ago. I pay my taxes each month. When they didn't pull the payments, I sent 5, yes 5 emails asking why and to do so ASAP. I get a new representative. We start all over. Again. It seems every few months there is someone new. This new person knows nothing about my company, how to pay, what to pay, what credits and charges go where and when. Most recently I have received another IRS letter stating that I owe $6500! I'm curious how much money they sill steal from me before I am arrested. Perhaps then I will receive a response on where my money went and what I am paying for? I went from full-service payroll to not even getting my employees paid on time and threatening IRS letters. In between panic attacks and the threat of losing what I have left during this quarantine, I have canceled my service with them (twice). They still charged me this month. I have paid thousands of dollars for their services over the years. They have stolen thousands more. If I don't receive an email in the next 48hrs I plan to hire an attorney to sue them and another Tax attorney to fix their negligent services.
