Amazing experience at the Mediterranean Market at Grove's Farmers Market today. I knew they were…read moreknown for their dubai chocolate, baklava and other treats, but I just had to try it in person. A nice young lady working there recommended to me to try their traditional baklava as well as the chocolate one. Both were very top tier, but the chocolate baklava really spoke to me. The textures of a bit crispy on outside with very soft, almost juicy filling of nuts, chocolate and their yummy syrup on the inside, made this chocolate baklava simply heavenly. After the first bite, my taste buds and my whole mouth just said Wooow! The baklava, especially the chocolate one, is absolutely positively a must try when you visit this Mediterranean spot. Good vibes here too, as there are a lot of tourists here and it's a cool people-watching opportunity and the tables to sit down and eat are just everywhere. Grove's Farmers Market is a historical, special place to visit and within the confines of this special place, is this magical baklava shop that's just a must. Will definitely be back again for more!

At the time, I had the choice of one that is made at a factory and one that is freshly made by hand. The homemade one was delicious, using top notch pistachio cream filling, chocolate and the kadayif was crispy. I've been bringing my friends and family here since. The market has a wide variety of products that it is hard for me to keep focus. I want everything! Great place to stop by and make a care package or gift basket for someone. I recently tried the Turkish Delights. One was rose, one is pomegranate with chocolate mini spears and one had saffron and rose petals. So decadent! You would think that you would want to eat a lot in one sitting but they are so rich and decadent, I find pacing myself slow and enjoying them one by one is the way to go. Staff has ALWAYS been friendly, even if it is in their own special way. I never felt rushed and all my purchases never felt transactional. Not only is this place perfect for a tourist spot, it is also valued as a neighborhood store.

You could get a membership if you'd like but non-members are also welcome to shop! I plan on coming back here again this weekend. It's worth the drive from the Central Valley to So Cal! I found some awesome deals while shopping. They had three large Korean pears for $3!!! That's such a steal. I was so happy to find my favorite fruit at a great price. Among my groceries, I treated myself to the viral fruit shaped ice cream. I believe it was $7 for a pack of three. I feel like it's a lot more affordable here than places in my hometown that charge more than half of the price for just one. It was tasty and I can definitely see the hype.

And she made something amazingly delicious out of it! Fast forward a few years later, we were blocks away when I reminded her about this place. She asked if we can make a stop so she can make that same dish again. (She mentioned Hubbers might have made a request for it.) I was curious enough to go in this time. I expected it to be crowded because Sanamluang is incredibly popular. We were lucky to find the only open parking spot which happened to be right up front. This place is deceiving! Looks like a no nonsense place looking from the outside but it's pretty big once you get inside! They even have a seafood and meat section at the back. They'll also clean and fry in-store purchase fish. I did notice that most of their products are pricier compared to other Asian markets. I didn't have the need for any, so I came out empty handed. But Mom got the cut of meat she needed to make us dinner this week! Okay first stop (for me.) Being far from home, not sure when I'd come back... if the need comes up and I happen to be around, maybe...?

I could have sworn that they used to have more limited hours, but either way, it's a solid European market. Aside from being a market, I think they also do shipping services to Europe too if you have friends or family there. Sizeable market with lots of snacks, sweets, dried goods, some ice cream, frozen food, drinks, alcohol, cooking and baking goods, and much more. You can easily spend a good amount of time perusing the wide variety of food that they have here. Great place to get tinned fish, chocolates, or crackers and cookies or candies if you're trying to find a quick gift. My boyfriend got some alcohol and some canned goods here. I got some caramel vanilla ice cream. Reminded me of the drumstick ice cream, but creamier and less "heavy" tasting if that makes sense. A juxtaposition, I'm sure. Shop had customers come in and out the entire time, but it was never super busy. Worker was on the phone I think with other customers, but was friendly either way. Ambiance was casual, a bit aged, not super fancy, but does the job.

Wow!!! Recently came here because my friends took me and I was super happy to finally shop here!!!…read moreThis is apparently the largest Japanese market in Gardena (and all of California). It's a very big store that somehow doesn't look as big from the outside, but there are so many things to highlight from here. We were in a city nearby but decided to stop by here because my friends wanted to buy some ingredients. This store was a delight for me as it was so big!!! My favorite section was the many Japanese merchandise of clothes, plushes, and desserts!!! It was super tempting to not buy something haha and I ended up grabbing the box of iconic mango ice cream popsicles!!! It was super yummy and was to my full liking. We ate it straight from the box because we didn't want it to melt in the car ride home. It was super refreshing and delicious. Other highlights was the hot foods bar and lots of Japanese beauty products.

They have a lot of premade food options. Some are decently priced and some are on the pricier side…read more If you go at 7pm or latter they do mark down lol the sushi and other premade food by 20% off. The thing that's good about going to Tokyo central for premade sushi is that they make all their sushi fresh daily and what's not sold is marked down and got rid of before next day compared to other markets where they sell their sushi that's like 2-4 days old. They went viral for awhile for having a hot food bar, which looked like a buffet but in reality you grab what you want but it's $15.99 a pound. The pound adds up really quick and you end with paying like $30. The food isn't that great in the hot food bar in my option so I'd skip it. The market itself is very pricey it's not a cheap market. So if your planning on buying grocery your gonna pay high prices. I'd go here for a quick sushi roll or some mochi they sell a bag from Japan for $3.99 with red bean that's pretty good. One of my favorite food item is the umami chicken karage with rice that's pre packaged and if you can snag it while it's still hot that great. Its usually on a separate table on in the refrigerated section, It's the one with some teriyaki sauce over it, not the regular one. As you exit you can grab utensils, napkins, wasabi. ginger, soy sauce. Parking is a hit and miss, it's a popular market if you go there at lunch time it's packed or weekends. Personally I drop by to get a quick bite, sushi roll or chicken karage . They do have a food court that has a Japanese bakery, takoyaki , a katsu place. Upstairs they have a sushi bar which is unique I havnt tried it but seems a bit pricey but looks like quality. Looking for something Japanese in food wise, this would be one of the places to go to look for it. I don't know why it seems like every Asian market I've been to is so cramped and hardly any space when trying to get around with a cart. It's the same here.
