Flavored detox tea! I never seen this tea in FLAVORS BEFORE!
    Kay Y.

They were closed for a week due to LNY and that's fine. Came on Sunday and the gentleman who assisted me was super kind and was well versed in both English and Cantonese. I haven't been here since I was a child and I loved that they had a Latina assistant too! You'd be amazed a lot of Latin people were here for TCM herbs/medicines too! I love that!!! I also loved that they accepted my debit card. I never seen the Slim Teas in flavor versions before! This place had it! Citrus was delicious!! Now I take these teas when I know I've ate very poorly before or went to an Asian wedding the same night and feasted like a beast lol the next day you will have a very detoxing date with your bathroom. Just to not feel so bloated and heavy the next morning.

The grocery store is very small and packed, tho it carries variety choices for herbs and dried seafood. It serves as a very good source center for making tonic soups.

Emily at the counter was patient to tell me where to find things in the store. I was shopping for Chinese New Year sweet cake and was disappointed by the bakeries, and lost hope until I came in here. It looked like an herbal store of dried goods so I wasn't expecting much but this place is a combo of herbs and grocery items. They even sell organic quinoa and cassava flour here. I got some rice vermicelli and also mung bean thread noodles. There wasn't any candied lotus seeds here (global shipping problems) but they have all the other candied fruits. So I got a packet of longan. I asked for a recommendation on where to get bbq pork and Emily recommended a shop across the street that I have never noticed. Lin Hua has roast duck and bbq and fresh Vietnamese noodles but no Yelp page and a faded almost unreadable sign, so here I'm writing it. These humble storefronts have more than you expect to find! I will be back to stock up on other pantry items from Far East.

I remember these kind of places from when I was a kid and my parents would bring me there. I remember thinking - what a strange store with so many odd dried up things. So whenever I come here present day, my eyes are just all over the place! There is so much stuff! Tons of teas and dried weird things in jars. I think all herbal and good for you. Snacks and lotions and pills. I mean...what to make of this place? Price is pretty cheap on certain things as well. Workers are eager to help. I came in the morning to avoid the crowd. This store is big! Bought some teas and royal jelly. They have skinny detox tea...but you might wanna be close to a restroom for the rest of the day.

It was a great store to find herbs, food, groceries, skin creams at very good prices. Helpful staff!

Resihi in dried form and the box is the tea form. Different purpose and different strengths.

Most items are specialty items, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or Eastern European. They carry imported chocolates, nuts a huge section of preserves. They have freshly roasted coffee that smells amazing we've never bought it as of yet. Their bread selection is quite nice with all local bakeries making dark Rye bread and other Middle Eastern style breads. The yogurt selection is varied and lovely, they even carry glass jars of Strauss Bulgarian style yogurt and a wide selection of labneh. Fresh feta in deli section also is great as well as unique Middle Eastern and Eastern European meats. We also purchase imported sparkling water, they have a nice refrigerated cooler near the registers, there are several brands we have come to like. From what I remember, there is no produce here, mostly dry, shelf stable and refrigerated goods.

If you meal prep and you need meal prep containers and are spending more than $1/container, get it here. If you have a big family and you want to buy your items in bulk, come here. It's more like a warehouse so don't expect a Crate & Barrel environment. Some might judge but trust me, it's the same stuff you'll find at other stores but will cost you 2-10x more. Anyway, bottom line is if you don't mind a little dust and want to save money, make a trip here and make sure you have space in your trunk so you can make your trip worthwhile. Don't come here just for a bag of straws. You might as well go to Pavillions. But yes, I'll come back when I need a refill on supplies.

I was excited to try the ice cream because they had a yuzu flavor that caught my eye. My 8-year-old and I stood patiently at the sample station for about three minutes, politely asking to try a couple of flavors. Unfortunately, the older woman working the booth completely ignored us while she focused on selling to another customer, even offering him multiple flavors he hadn't requested. During that time, I politely asked several times for the samples my son and I wanted to try, but we continued to be overlooked. The final straw was when another customer walked up and was helped immediately, despite us having been waiting there the entire time. I calmly told her that I had asked five times already. Instead of apologizing, she snapped, "There are customers!" I explained that I understood, but that I had been standing there patiently and had simply been overlooked. My son was standing right in front of her the entire time, so it's hard to understand how she kept ignoring us. She then rudely told me that I wasn't the only customer and that I needed to wait. At that point, I said it was okay--I didn't need the sample anymore and wouldn't be buying anything. Her response was, "That's okay. That's your loss!" I have reached out to Maeda-In's corporate office to let them know the experience. They were incredibly sweet and apologetic about this experience and kindly explained they didn't have a "demo" that day so she was a store employee. However, she did take down info and will be escalating to upper management to let them know that the store hired a lady that was rude to customers who are representing their product.

Sadly the economy has increased prices of course but that's not really the store's fault. PASTES Great selection of curry pastes, chili pastes, and seasoning packets for making things like Tom Kha and Papaya salad (All ranged roughly around $1-2). A selection of jarred sauces like , shrimp pastes, fried chili paste, and other sauces that were a few dollars more. COCONUT MILK/CREAM I focused on the Mae Ploy coconut cream which was $3.79 AROMATICS Aromatics like galangal, lime, and lemongrass are available in both dry powder form and fresh form. The powders ranged from $3-6). You can also get star anise either in dried bags or as a powder as well SAUCE Good selection of fish sauces and soy sauces. Large Viet Hung fish sauce - $13 I also spotted cheaper brands like Tiparos, Megachef, etc THAI CHILI POWDER! Finally. Been trying to find it at all the other Asian markets and it's been weirdly hard. I got my trusted 7oz red top container for $4.99 THAI TEA Thai tea in both canned ($3.39) and bagged instant form ($5) PRODUCE I was a bit sad at first on how small the produce section was but it turns out they actually really did have all the needed basics there. - Green papaya (they only have whole, no pre-shred) - Holy Basil in bags - Turmeric in bags - Thai chili peppers - Galangal $7/pound - Lemongrass stalks (I remember it said either $2-3 but didn't specify any further whether that meant PER stalk or per ounce or per pound, etc - Makrut ("Kaffir") lime leaves in bags (said it was $26 a pound but didnt provide a smaller, more realistic measurement - long beans - daikon - as well as a very modest collection of mainstream produce like tomatoes, onions, button mushrooms, etc CANNED Things like bamboo, including thin or thick cuts They also have my personal favorite jarred bamboo in chili oil. RAMENS They've got a small selection of ramens, also including variations of Indomie Mie Goreng ($1 per bag) and 1-2 Korean selections like Shin Ramen The sections I breezed by included oils, rice, snacks, and a few fridges with meats, eggs, desserts, frozen galangal, miso, etc. Unfortunately they didn't have the frozen precut lemongrass containers you sometimes get at Thai or Viet stores They also take card! It's a tiny tiny store with an equally tiny parking lot, so be prepared expect a full lot sometimes. I luckily found a spot but also noticed that it can be a bit of work to shimmy your car back out when you leave since they're packed so tight Definitely worth a visit though if you need this specialty of ingredients.

I expected it to be crowded because Sanamluang is incredibly popular. We were lucky to find the only open parking spot which happened to be right up front. This place is deceiving! Looks like a no nonsense place looking from the outside but it's pretty big once you get inside! They even have a seafood and meat section at the back. They'll also clean and fry in-store purchase fish. I did notice that most of their products are pricier compared to other Asian markets. I didn't have the need for any, so I came out empty handed. But Mom got the cut of meat she needed to make us dinner this week! Okay first stop (for me.)
