    Guinness Short Rib Chili
    Ron M.

Stopped in for lunch and had a really solid experience. The food was the highlight. The Guinness Short Rib Chili was rich, hearty, and full of flavor. We also tried the Goffle Road Farm's Chicken Bruschetta, which was fresh and well balanced. The fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, onions, arugula, pesto mayo, and balsamic reduction all worked perfectly together. The Chicken Sandwich was another win. The buttermilk fried chicken breast was crispy and juicy, and the roasted peppers, poblano ranch, lettuce, and onions added great flavor without overpowering it. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out promptly. Overall, great food and great service. We'll definitely be back.

Service at the bar with Sean is always exceptional. He takes care of the bar and the tables in the room as well, no easy task. The food is always exceptional. It's not just your ordinary Irish Pub food, the chef brings it to a different level. My kids had the French onion soup, the base/broth was spot on. The Mac and cheese was delicious, although we prefer our pasta a bit more cooked, it was al dente and next time we will ask. Our sandwiches were delicious as were the short rib entree. The only big disappointment was the fish and chips. The one thing we always look to have and my son was not happy with the fish. It was so soggy and when you order fish and chips you expect it to me crunchy and fresh and it was not. Maybe a bad day for the chef, but not good at all. Other wise all was good. We will be back. They are great people and have great food. This particular dish was just not very tasty.

Biddy O'Malley's never disappoints! The French onion soup is OUTSTANDING--I swear I think about that soup daily. So rich, flavorful, and that cheese on top was perfectly melted and bubbly. Honestly, everything about it was amazing. We also had the artichoke dip--hot, cheesy, and full of flavor. For dinner, I had the Mahi Mahi with forbidden rice and it was delicious. We also tried another fish dish with risotto (can't remember the name) but it was just as great. Service was super attentive, and I've been here before just for the bar area, but the food keeps bringing me back. Definitely a go-to spot!

After about five years, I stopped in for dinner again and found it to be an improved experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a dark, moody decor, but on a Sunday evening, sitting by the indoor fireplace made for a cozy atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was busy but still comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had sandwiches--both were tasty. The menu is limited but offers some solid options. While it didn't blow me away, it wasn't bad. Service was attentive and reliable, rounding out a decent dining experience.

I love everything about this place! It's an elevated Irish gastropub with proper pints. My dad loves it and he's from Ireland so he's very particular on his Irish places lol They also let u combo the flavors for the wings which is nice bc I can never tell what flavor I want

Great place to have a hearty meal and drink. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Brought our 4.5 year old son and he loved it too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some of the best chili I've ever had, and burger and steaks are cooked perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy atmosphere without being stuffy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Excellent service, they got everything perfect without taking notes, and even split our chili between 2 bowls without prompting, after we mentioned we would share. Will definitely come again!

Biddy O'Malley's in Northvale, NJ. Irish Bistro and Bar serving some amazing classic Irish gastropub fare in NJ! The food was so good and comforting. I love that most of the ingredients are locally sourced! This is definitely not your standard Irish Pub-the food, drinks and service are all elevated. The ambiance is amazing! Beat and Goat Cheese Salas with Salmon is great

Been to this establishment for lunch about a dozen times for work discussions. Having a hard time deciding on 4 or 5 stars. Food (4.5) Service (4.6) Ambiance (4.5) I always enjoy anything I order. Not on any diet but for some reason I often order and love the Beet and Goat Cheese salad and often get it with Salmon on top. Nuts, seeds, and other goodies prepared just right. The salmon is huge so I sometimes take some home. Burgers and chicken cutlet sandwiches are also great. Their house fries are superb btw, a weakness. Their servers are exceptional, experienced and understand the right amount of attention during a business lunch. The ambiance is pub-like yet their dining room is very well set up with perfect booths for business discussions. Ok, just decided, you get a 5 from this tough grader!! Please keep up the great work!

    Brian W.

It's been a while since I had enjoyed this establishment. I felt welcomed home by the classic and innovative dishes. The dining room is always so charming and adored by many. My server was the only reason it was not a 5 - I begged for water in between the Moscow mules and left parched. ( These are real and recent photos)

    Scottish egg
    Natalie T.

The fish and chips were so soft and crunchy at the same time, they did a good job cooking it. I haven't seen Scottish eggs on the menu in a while so I was happy to see they had them and boy they did not disappoint. The traditional lamb shepherd's pie was also delicious, it was a cozy meal. The only call out would be the chicken pot pie as the crust was over cooked and a bit tough to bite into. However, the flavors were delicious and we enjoyed the meal overall. This is a definite try again spot. The service was wonderful and the restaurant it self was inviting- a great experience overall!

Wisely recognized as America's oldest tavern with its stone facade, the Old '76 House, located on Main Street in Tappan, has been welcoming guests and was restored to its pristine condition by the Norden family. Step inside, and nearly every corner tells a story that served as a meeting place for local patriots during the American Revolutionary War. It also welcomed General George Washington for dining on occasion. He once received plans at the establishment that exposed Benedict Arnold as a traitor--prompting a dramatic reaction still talked about today. Upon entering without a reservation today for lunch, my partner and I were greeted by the host and got a cozy table by the fireplace with original Delft tiles in the Tap Room. The interior features rustic beamed ceilings, four fireplaces, vintage portraits, historical certificates and documents, as well as costumes and artifacts where patrons were able to walk around and marvel at them. The menu reflects the tavern's heritage, with dishes inspired by early American cuisine. We decided on the Thanksgiving Sandwich accompanied with fries and the Traditional American Meatloaf over Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Vegetables. For dessert, we shared Hannah's Apple Crunch with vanilla ice cream. But even more than the great and delicious food was the history, ambiance, and especially the way we were treated. Our server was Joe and checked on us often. The portion was healthy and the price comparable to the area's. If one has even a passing interest in American history, then it's a must to come here. Not just a meal, but an experience!

That level of hospitality and customer care is rare and speaks volumes about how they treat their guests. The attention to detail extends to the bar as well. Their Old Fashioned is made the way it should be--with a large ice block that keeps the drink cold without watering it down. As John Taffer often says, "If an Old Fashioned doesn't have a large ice block, they're not paying attention to detail." Basque clearly does. If you're looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and a restaurant that truly cares about its customers, I highly recommend Basque. Give it a try--you won't be disappointed.

He proceeded to edit out the items he thought we didn't want to eat, and instead of backing off to let us make new selections and returning, he stayed at the table and told us to "just order" the recommended fish of the evening. The junior waiter was way more attentive and kind to us than this jerk. Food was ok, little under seasoned. Won't be returning. ADA note: This place doesn't seem very wheelchair accessible - tight corners trying to get around the dining room tables, there is a step up at the main door and then again to get up to go towards the bar/main dining area.
