I purchased my first ford in my 50s. the sterotypes of the brand always kept me away. After driving toyota and chevy mostly, the vehicles over the years have been less and less. For example, I had a chevy equinox that I purchased from buzz chew - they were great with service dept. however, just before warranty expired, my transmission just died... had about 60k miles they made the repairs under warranty - no problem. a few months later, the transmission died again!!! they wouldn't honor warranty since it just expired, even though the same problems happened. This costed me $6000.00!!! at the time, I had no money, going through financial struggles, and worked a second job to payoff the debt that I was lucky enough to borrow I never had a transmission fail and to have a vehicle that this failed twice!!!???? no, this is not the norm. Not only will I not buy a chevy again but the dealership let me down and lost me as a customer after a family member recommended to try riverhead ford, I reluctantly went there to check. I had no intention of buying but tried to keep my sister happy. my sister introduced me to a salesman, Bill Seydel. my first impression of bill was that he looked like an everyday guy, not a lick willy sales guy that is interested in only the sale. after spending some time with me, discussing budget and type of vehicle I want, which (at the time) was suv. after having me try the options, discuss price and budget, he suggested leasing and explained the benefits of always having new and warranty coverage and monthly cost savings, I decided on edge. the vehicle was fine and served it's purpose well, no complaints. when I was ready to turn the lease and get another, I decided I wanted a pickup as the first time, bill explained the options and spent a lot of time to be sure I was happy to make the best decision I felt right about. I then got a lariat crew cab, which gave my dog ample room, with the back seats up, to move around and do cartwheels if he so chose to. the truck was great!!! this happened before covid was front an center after the lease end was near, I decided to take a look at trucks again. my financial status was better and I wanted to upgrade, which was the platinum. with supply shortages going on, the options were limited. instead of making a quick sale bill suggested to order from the factory, which at the time was 4-8 months wait, which a drag since that would be august and my lease ended in February. bill understood the concern and motioned that the lease can be extended and any issues he will work something out to keep me to have something to drive. at the time, my faith and trust in bill was pretty high since he has been straight with me since the beginning, more interested in making me, the customer, happy than making a quick buck. so, we went down the options, some i wanted and some he suggested, and explained, why I may not want. line by line, we went over everything. In the end, I got the truck loaded because I wanted it, not the salesman pushing. At my age, I wanted something great. I'm not a contractor but wanted the comfort, height, and good gas mileage. the hybrid model I got with lane assist and bluecruise is pretty cool... ford has a way to go to make self driving happen, but this reduces much driving stress as i see it. Riverhead fords service department has always been great, fair with price and with the for visa point system, I never paid for oil changes and other services needed while having the card. my only complaint about the service is loaner cars. with vehicle shortages being a thing still, they have less vehicles on hand currently and have to wait 3 weeks to schedule service. fortunately, with the point system, they have different ties, bronze, silver and blue, i used it for all purchases and auto pays, paying as soon as bill came, I became blue tier. with that tier my plan lets them come to me and switch cars out rather than go there and wait. I suggest them to anyone! read more

I have been going to Riverhead Ford since I purchased my F-150 Lightning for routine maintenance, which on an EV is basically tire rotations. The 20,000 mile routine maintenance suggested a cabin filter replacement and tire rotation so I took it in for that. These scammers charged me $179 for that "service". An OEM filter from Ford is $35. The biggest rip off for a minute filter replacement. Never again will I support this business. read more

Please avoid this dealership at all cost! I dropped my car off 6/27 for a diagnostics that was supposed to be covered under warranty. They had it for a over a month with no information or calls back. I called twice a week and they kept telling me they'd call me back with the status. Eventually after a month I went in and they told me it's not under warranty because they suspect water damage and it would be $1800 to fix. I asked them if they could submit it to ford to see if it's covered and they told me no they rarely cover this because of water damage. I told them I would bring it to another shop for a different opinion and they'd said come back tomorrow so they can put everything back together. I go back the next day (8/1) and about a hour after they told me to get there it was done and they gave me the car back looking like this. Car was disgusting on the outside, seat was torn, cockroaches inside (not even kidding) and one of the shop guys shoes were in my car. I have pictures and proof of all this before and after. After 2 weeks of fighting them getting tossed between different people, the service manager laughing in my face telling me that's not gonna happen when asking for them to fix it and getting my calls dodged I went in to talk to the gm and that's when I talked to Pete the service director. He was helpful to where he got my car washed which got most of the sap off, and tried to repair the seat with the patch but it did not come out great. So they damaged my car, got it infested with bugs, dirty covered in sap, charged me $200+ for diagnosing what we already knew after over a month, and wouldn't provide me a loaner vehicle for that whole duration of time. If that sounds good to you this is the dealership for you. I will advise everyone I know and see to never come here. This place should be closed down. read more

I Purchased my new to me 2019 Ram 2500 Larmine from the preowned department here at riverhead ford. This was hands down the most frustrating experience I've had purchasing a vehicle. Especially one of this price tag. The staff here had no knowledge of the vehicle, that's understanding because it is a ford dealer, but still. That's not the point. They had little to no knowledge on what I had to do as the buyer to register the truck. Long story short I had to chase the dealers tail to get this deal done and even to receive my plates. My temp tag was active for 1 month and they would not help me once that expired. I had to let this truck sit in my yard for an extra 2 weeks because riverhead ford could not get me my plates. The cherry on top is once the plates finally came in, I get a phone call, requesting yet another $320. Why ? Because they miscalculated the fees and used this to blackmail me. In the terms " Just send me the money and il send you the plates and this nightmare can be over with". This people are, not understanding, slackers, and a perfect example of laziness and not being able to take accountability, or even follow up. This is the worst car dealership on Long Island. The general manager is a bully and a buffoon. He promised that if we didn't buy the car from him he would make sure we would never be able to service it at that dealership. Out of the 3 dealerships we checked with he was also the most expensive and would not negotiate. Bought a 2013 F-150 September 2020 with the max extended warranty. 1 week into having it the engine started to misfire. We brought it back and was told the Truck needed a new coyle. We were given a hard time about the truck. Dealer also stated a full tune up was done on truck to ensure problem fixed. Approx 2 weeks ago for today's date, the truck started doing the same shaking and misfiring. Called to make appointment. Brought truck into Riverhead Ford today. Monday August 23rd 2021. After telling Wayne that the truck was doing the same thing it was doing 11 months ago, Wayne said he would have truck looked over. Approx 1 hour later Wayne had called and said the truck needed a full time up and the problem would be fixed. He quoted us at 1,050 for the complete tune up. We denied service because we were told a full tune up had been completed 11 months ago when we bought the truck. Wayne stated he would need 1 hour to have the technician put the truck back together. After hanging up with Wayne, my truck sat in the garage for approx 5 minutes, a technician got in it and drove into parking lot. Nothing was "put back together". (We stayed in the lot and watched) When we arrived to pick up the truck, Wayne handed us an invoice for $141.00 and held our truck hostage. We informed him that the Truck was brought to Ford because we have the extended warranty and the truck was doing the SAME exact thing it had done 11 months prior. (We have owned this truck for 11 months and still have the same issue wrong). Wayne became argumentative stating his employees need to be paid for the work they did (plugging computer in to see the code given for misfire). We informed Wayne again that the truck was dropped off under warranty of the service provided as well as the warranty which we spent a lot of extra money on for the truck. Wayne then threw the key over the counter at us, said "fine, my technicians work for free" and then grabbed the papers on the counter, crumbled them up and told us to "get the f*ck out" This has been the most UNPROFESSIONAL experience I have ever encountered with a dealership service provider. To speak to any customer in that manner shows that a person does not care about their job nor do they care about the person and/or brand that they represent. We brought the truck to a regular mechanic who ran a diagnostic on the truck and said the coil is bad again. He replaced the coil again and truck runs great again. Looks like Riverhead Ford was attempting to take advantage of me by selling a job that the truck did NOT need. Be aware. Do not trust this company. read more

Was in communication with a salesman to come that evening and bring my trade-in, and awaiting a confirmation on the time I suggested, when he informed that they'd just taken a deposit from another customer, and thus said we couldn't see the vehicle. I brought my Explorer in for a recall to be done, a half hour after I drop it off I get a phone call from a service advisor saying my brakes were metal on metal, the rotors are damaged and I need new brakes and rotors. I asked how much it would be and they wanted $1300.00...knowing they were not changed long ago, I had my father pick up the car and have a look for himself. I STILL HAD HALF MY BRAKE PADS LEFT AND MY ROTORS WERE PERFECT. Absolutely disgusted with the service department. You should be ashamed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE FOR SERVICE HERE!!! What is the #1 rule for a car salesman?: never, ever, ever profile your potential customer. Well someone at the RFL dealer needs a serious refresher on basic sales etiquette. I walked in the other day interested in a Raptor.. and this salesman looked at me top to bottom with a smirk on his face. Clearly I was wasting is valuable time. He did show me a 2018 model he had on the lot.. but couldn't test drive it. Apparently "they don't let Raptors being test driven" according to him. BS#1. I asked him about finding me a 2019 model and he replied that would be very difficult because most of the dealer on the island mark up the price by $25k (instead of the usual $10k). BS#2. Then after making me wait a good 15mins he came back with a price for his 2018 which was so ridiculous.. he was clearly trying to get rid of me. BS#3 Well.. .since then I found another dealer on the island, who provided me with a 2019 model, let me test it (twice) and made me a deal on the mark up which ended up being cheaper than the 2018 from RFL! Conclusion: I will gladly pay "my friend" in Riverhead a visit soon with my new purchase to remind him why his 2018 Raptor is still parked on his lot! read more

First I took my 2015 fusion there for an oil change. they checked the brakes and told me they were good..7 out of 10. the next month I needed inspection. now my brakes went from 7 to2 and had to be changed or the car would not pass. on oct.24th I went to them because fob didn't work. they asked if I wanted another key fob made,i agreed. riverhead ford said they would program old key fob,plus sell me an new fob and program that one as well. $350.00 later I came away happy. I went home,and the old key fob didn't .programed.I'd have to buy another fob for another $160.00 why not tell me this first time? this means in order to have both key fobs working total would be over $500.00 CROOKS! Just bought a 2021 Ford F-150 Lariet from Riverhead Ford and was charged $3500 over MSRP, when I asked why the salesman simply said lack of inventory! After the sale I received an email questionnaire inquiring about my satisfaction,I answered it honestly and they would not publish it! So I contacted Tom Williams to try and resolve the overcharge but I received no help from him. In any other industry this would be considered price gouging!!! Dropped off my Ford Escape 2017 (lease ) for an inspection. Said it would be less than an hour. They informed me they would call me when it was ready. 1 hour and 30mins headed back to the service area they took a awhile to find my keys. Found out my car needs brakes and rotors. The price was $600 to fix brakes and rotors. Looking at the price I didn't feel that was right and called someone to clarify if that's usually the price. After my call I ask for my car because I'm going to a mechanic that won't charge me that much. The prices then becomes $321(because I leaving). Almost half the original price. I said I'm taking my car, I was repeatedly told you'll have to pay two inspection fee one for failing then another one if I take the my car away(pretty much a way to keep me there ). I asked for my car back, again. Waited another 5mins for my car then I asked "where is my car?" they claimed they had to run it through the machine so it would say "fail". But I paid for the failed inspection already. Waited another 13mins to get my car back. Right now I have a lease, but this service experience is making me think if I want to purchase my lease after the year is up, or even lease/buy a card from this area. To sum it up, don't go here, Unless you want to get ripped off. I am an unsatisfied customer with the service I received for my car. read more

I bought my wife a new 2021 Ford Explorer. Employment opportunity has brought us from Florida to Long Island. My hometown dealership referred us to Riverhead Ford. I am always skeptical about a business I know very little about. I however was greeted in a professional manner from a service writer that explained he only needed the key and registration to the vehicle. I explained I was just there to get the first scheduled maintenance performed. I also let them know I have a maintenance plan on the vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised about an hour later that the vehicle was all finished with tire rotation and oil change. Now that my vehicle is in their system and I was pleased with their professionalism, I will be going back for my vehicles scheduled maintenance. Good job. Makes me proud to drive a Ford. My family has bought more than a dozen new Ford's over the past 15 years. We enjoy being treated like family to the highest standards in the industry. read more

If I could give a ZERO star I would! My elderly parents needed a car cause their other car was rear ended. They got a flex for a rental and fell in love with it as it met all their needs, being my mom is in a wheelchair for 25 yrs. we went to Riverhead ford and found a used 2018 model, it was nice. Well Malcolm the used car manager has taken them for a ride! Ford didn't give my parents the code to get into the vehicle and my dad has misplaced the keys( thank god we found them). So I had to make an appointment for ford to read the computer. Ford was gonna charge them to read it. OMG!! They didn't have the car for a couple months, service had to talk to Malcolm to wave the fee. Now come to find out it need new brakes! Really!! My parents have only had the car 6 months and only put 2600 miles on the car. You think they should have gotten at least 1 full year out of the vehicle before they had to start replace things on the car. Sooooo ford decided to pass the inspection on the car with barely the minimum of brake pad left on the car. What cheap f***in bastards the used car management is. So when I confronted Malcolm and told him he took advantage of the elderly, he said " so what everyone has problems and old people in their lives" ......wow, just wow!! Way to treat your customers!! Chris was so invaluable. Even when the MTA tried to foil our Sunday travel plans, he went out of his way to help us get to Riverhead from Brooklyn. I'm an anxious person and pretty worried when it comes to big purchases and Chris answered all my questions and gave us great advice. He walked me through each step of the process and had everything ready when we arrived. I felt no pressure at all but welcomed and encouraged to ask for assistance. Even after one day with the car, I am driving back from Brooklyn on Saturday just to make sure the loud noises I'm hearing aren't something serious since it is a used vehicle. On or about January 29th, 2016 I sent an inaccurate review of my service experience at Riverhead Lincoln/Ford. On 22JAN16 I had brought my 2005 Ford Excursion in for a scheduled repair. In my original review my comments were harsh and my complaints were unfounded. Basically, I was having a bad day. I need to redact my comments about the treatment I received at the service center. I was treated appropriately and any misperception of the treatment I received was the result of my attitude on that day. I want to apologize for the comments that I made in the first review as there was no foundation for them. I also want to apologize to Peter Jr. and I hope my comments did not adversely effect him.
