My neighbor recommended Dr. Appelbaum's practice, and it's only a mile from where we live so I called to see if they could take us. They set up an appointment within the next few weeks. We arrived that morning and within a few minutes of checking in, they took a Polaroid of the kids in front of the Christmas tree which they had made into a Christmas card for us by the end of the visit. Everyone was so nice and friendly and good with my kids, ages five and eight. My five-year-old is particularly shy, and the hygienist assigned to him warmed him up almost instantly. They had a poster of drink choices showing how much sugar is in each one (they posted an empty bottle, then baggie next to it with the amount of sugar in the drink actually in the baggie). The kids got to pick a prize at the end of their visit in addition to the usual toothbrush, toothpaste and floss in a bag. This place rocks and totally exceeded my expectations!

The final straw was this past December. My daughter was seen and diagnosed with two cavities, but we were told the soonest they could treat them was June. At the time she wasn't in pain, so I trusted their guidance. Fast forward to now--she was just fitted for Invisalign, and the pressure caused severe pain in the teeth with the cavities. She was crying and in extreme discomfort. I contacted the office explaining the situation and was told they still could not see her any sooner. There was no emergency accommodation, no concern, and no attempt to help. We were simply told to find another dentist. Allowing a child to go six months with multiple cavities and refusing to help when they are in obvious pain is unacceptable. This office showed zero compassion or urgency, and it's clear they do not prioritize their pediatric patients' well-being. I will be pulling my kids from this practice. I would not recommend this office to any parent who expects timely care and concern for their child.

The office is designed with little ones in mind, making the experience feel fun rather than stressful. They do such a good job explaining every step to keep the kids calm and engaged. The best part? As a matter of fact, my whole family has been coming here and we have never had an experience as the one listed. I'm not saying it didn't happen, because I don't know, but I'm sure they haven't built their business with such treatment. I'm not excited to go to the dentist, but they always take good care of me. My dentist is Dr. Rizzuti and I am lucky my mom found him many years ago. He helps me relax and takes very good care of me, especially when I was going through my broken jaw experience. It was by no means fun, but it was bearable. I've had my fair share of dental experiences since I broke my jaw. I have had 8 or 9 root canals and they all went well and I know everyone has a different response to root canals. My friends face swelled up, but it has never happened to me, I guess I'm lucky in a way. I have had a couple fillings and lots of cleanings. The hygienists can be hit or miss. They have the hardest job, but some are nicer than others is all I'm saying. I guess it's hard to clean teeth and be super gentle especially if you don't come in every 6 months as suggested. It's a bad habit I've gotten into. Since I don't have dental insurance I have to pay upfront or set up a payment plan. If you pay in full you get a 10% discount which is really nice. The ladies at the counter where you pay are so nice and helpful. My mom comes here a lot and the ladies remember me and who my mom is. I haven't gone to the dentist with my mom in I don't know how long, but they always remember. That is a nice touch.

We needed three baby teeth pulled and we were on a time crunch (long, boring story). Dr. Wolf's office was efficient and friendly from the first phone call. The receptionist, Rita, explained that I would need to get X-rays of the teeth either from them or from our orthodontist and she explained why. Then she gave me the email to have them sent and she called to confirm when she got them and to schedule the consultation with Dr. Giles who does the extractions. Imagine that? I didn't have to do the follow-up myself. Here are a few other things I liked: We don't have dental insurance and when I inquired about the cost of the procedures and the nitrous, I was given the information I needed. Again - a refreshing change. Our appointment time was 1 p.m. We were seen at 1 p.m. I was able to fill out the new patient forms online. Dr. Giles met with my daughter for the first time at a desk versus in the examination chair - much less intimidating. Dr. Giles herself. She's delightful. If you don't have a pediatric dentist - go there. If you don't have one you like, switch to this one.
