I went with relatives from out of town to Riverpark for a delightful lunch. I had been there several times, but not since pre-Covid. The view is gorgeous with plenty of windows to take it in the East River. Luckily, it was a sunny day, so it made the view all that more beautiful It really is a hidden gem in Manhattan. The ambience is warm and chic. The servers are very attentive and friendly, going out of their way to make your dining experience, extra enjoyable . We all started with butternut squash maple soup. Beautifully plated with diced butternut squash walnuts. The perfect choice for a freezing cold winter afternoon. I had a delicious winter greens salad with salmon. I enjoyed every bite. The tuna tartare was a shining star. The salmon entree was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We didn't indulge in dessert but I will look forward to it during my next visit. The cappuccino was the perfect ending to a lovely afternoon.

came here for my birthday last month and found it on a whim as they had a reservation available on OpenTable for the night. Whenever I'm walking along the east river I always see this restaurant but never clocked that it was an actual restaurant and I'm so happy that I discovered this place! Talked away behind the hospital it overlooks the water with beautiful floor, ceiling, window windows and the ambience inside is perfect for a nice group dinner or a date night. The food was delicious and really fairly priced all of us thoroughly enjoyed archer drinks, and meals. The staff was also super friendly and when I mentioned that I was gluten-free brought out an extra gluten-free dessert for me to try. This is a really well run restaurant and I cannot wait to come back and I hope more people discover it !

When location matches cuisine complemented by superlative service - the experience can't but be awesome. Riverpark is a hidden gem. Couldn't find a better setting for romantic lunch sitting outside with an uplifting view - on a balmy day:

I found this spot while I was looking for a nice restaurant with a view of the river. The location was not as easy to access, since there is no subway stop right by there. But, we can all use a little bit of walk, can we? The walls facing the East River are covered with huge windows from floor to ceiling. It gives such beautiful view of the river! We ordered was Roasted Chicken Breast, Dry Aged Riverpark Burger, Al Limon with Shrimp, and Radiatore. The chicken was plump and juicy, packed with flavor, super delicious! The burger and fries were great too. The patty was gently covered with melted cheese, topped with crispy shallots. It was juicy and flavorful, a pretty darn good burger! Al Limon had wonderful lemony flavor that went perfectly with the shrimp. Radiatore, another dish done well. The tomato enhanced the flavor of the sausage, against the bit of the bitter and nutty flavor of rapini. It was really good! We ordered desserts as well. Chocolate Profiteroles, Chocolate Ganache Cake, Almond Cake. Profiteroles came with four little chocolate choux, sandwiching vanilla ice cream in the middle. You can see the vanilla beans in there, it was so good! Chocolate Ganache Cake was moist and rich, and yes, the whisky milk foam was amazing with it. We mentioned briefly to our wonderful server, Jerome, that we were celebrating my mother's birthday. Guess what? He brought the Almond Cake out with a candle and a chocolate that says "Happy Birthday" on top! And not only that, he brought it out while singing happy birthday! It made my mother so happy. The cake was as amazing as the special celebration. We were well taken care of, we had a fun dinner. Everything we tried was delicious, We actually went back again for dinner, and they were great too. They also have pretty fantastic outdoor space as well. The traffic noise takes away the peaceful ambiance a bit, but still, it is really nice. We loved our experience at Riverpark. I would definitely go back again for more! Thank you Riverpark and the staffs for celebrating my mother's birthday with us!

When we talk about hidden gems, it's a bit conflicting. We want to let everyone know, but we want it to remain our little secret. This being said I'm sure it's not such a big secret, but there weren't many people here when I was. Loved having the place to myself. The food was good, my steak sort of let me down at this price point only because there was inedible hard fat and I've had better steaks many many other places, which is not to say this wasn't good, it was still a great steak, the lemony hollidaise and potatoes that were served with it were nothing short of amazing and the mushrooms in sherry cream were absolutely the same! They had crispy onions and I fought myself to try and save a few. (I did and made the most delicate and amazing eggs the next morning with these right on top- it was decadent and delicious.) We were also greeted with a pleasant little mouth amuser (amuse bouche) Every time I have one of these I'm simultaneously mad that I don't get them more often at more places and overjoyed that I'm getting one when I am. It's so rare to find, now all I need riverpark to do is supply some branded match books for the cause. Side note, what are your favorite restaurants that have an amuse bouche? Or a matchbook??

Last time I was at Riverpark was in 2016 when it was still owned by Tom Collichio. I was looking for a spot to celebrate my dates birthday and decided on this restaurant. Upon further research, I found out that it was no longer owned by Tom, but some new owners who just kept the same name. The reviews still looked good so I thought to give it a try. Especially because of the view of the water from here. The restaurant was very accommodating, they helped with putting the birthday boys name on the menu, as well as stayed open to receive us when we were over 15 minutes late due to intense traffic by the east river. We had to order in the car to save time. For starters we had the tuna carpaccio and the oysters which were yummy. For starters I had the halibut with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, parsnip purée and mushroom consommé, 10/10. Savory, well made, and just melts in the mouth. The linguine was also good 7/10 , it just had too much garlic. Overall this Chef knows his stuff. Service was 10/10. Thanks to our servers Ethan and Ritchie as well as to Nadine the manager for accommodating us for this special occasion. Only con is they close way too early by 9pm but it's understandable as the area pretty much becomes dead after a certain time.

Styling American restaurant that is inside of a building right by the east river. There is a highway between this place and the river, but the restaurant is above it so you still get a good view of the river and Brooklyn/queens The restaurant has a dining room, patio, & bar area. I came here for dinner with my GF and we ordered drinks, bread & butter, entrees, and a dessert. The bread was underwhelming as it was a little on the stale/stiff side, and it really reminded me of the cheap Hawaiian rolls that you would buy at a grocery store, but the rest of the food (and our drinks) were fantastic. My only qualm, other than the bread, was that the vegetables that were served with my entree all had their stems still on them and I had to de-stem them myself. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying

    Calamari
    Sam T.

Honestly pretty classy and vibey ambience and a great view with ceiling to floor glass windows of the east river, food was obviously pricey but not bad. Service was great and efficient. We had a rezzie for a large group but I imagine it could be pretty easy to walk in. I only got to try the group ordered calamari as well as my huge steak ($48?) that I ordered. The calamari was relatively unmemorable. The steak was MASSIVE. portion size and flavoring was great, as was the potatoes. However, I asked for medium rare and I'm pretty sure what I got was rare. Otherwise a good place for a more classy or maybe business outing.

We came here to celebrate my birthday. We made a reservation with Jacqueline the day before, and when we arrived the day after, there was no reservation LOL. We thought that was funny! That's ok because the place was still empty, with only a few tables. We wanted the window table, and we got it. Our table overlooks the East River. We saw a big group sitting outside having a party. We had an excellent and professional waiter named Astro. He did an excellent job accommodating us to ensure we were happy with the meals. Ok, here's the verdict! Don't order raw; not their specialty. We had oysters, razor clam ceviches, and raw clams. One of the clams smelled funny. I couldn't see any razor clams in the ceviches, and there was no clam taste at all. We also had the pate, but it was just all right. After the appetizers, I had the Amish Chicken and Hubby had a Grilled Rack of Lamb. This is where they pulled me back in. The best chicken by the Amish! Get this because it would flip you out. I flipped out! I freaked out! I'm all that! Very happy with our entrees. Hubby's rack of lamb was good too, but we both thought the chicken was the best of the night. It was tender and juicy, and the way it was prepared was almost like grilling on wooden charcoal or something similar. I almost gave up on my dinner after the appetizers, but I had no choice but to finish it all! :) The restaurant had a good team. The manager served some of our meals, which was nice. Astro, our waiter, put together a perfect birthday dessert for me. I'm not too fond of anything too sweet, so he threw a lovely birthday dessert for me, custard-like, surrounded by macarons and strawberries. It was awesome! Thank you to the restaurant management and team. Hope to see you again!

    Is there parking?

Yes, there is a discounted priced parking. But you need to drive the back of the building to park. Not from the entrance where you go to the restaurant normally.

Never been to such a place.... Are you expected to get 3 courses? LOL

    No.

    Is it good for kids?

Its more upscale, not really for children, very quiet. I am not from the City, was there with friends so maybe call the restaurant and ask them. ?

Hi, Is that a good place to see the fireworks on July 4th?

Yes. They usually have a prix fixe menu on holidays . It's best to call first to make sure. https://www.riverparknyc.com/event/join-us-for-july-4th/

I've heard "Lunch at The Modern" so many times, one thing I was absolutely going to do during this…read moretrip to NYC was lunch at The Modern, and I'm so glad I did. Located at MoMA, The Modern is a 2 Michelin star restaurant hosting both fine dining, showcasing Chef Thomas Allan's cuisine, and a more casual dining experience in The Bar Room. The restaurant is gorgeous and has a giant glass wall overlooking MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, a lovely view. There is an abridged tasting menu of 3 courses, but we opted for the full chef's menu cause we didn't want to miss their signature "eggs on eggs on eggs" and after the supplemental charge, the price was close enough. - Hiramasa and sugar snap peas/crispy ham and cheese--simple and delicious, with the hiramasa being light and fresh and the ham and cheese providing a deeply savory contrast - Chilled lobster, shiso, and green radish--the lobster was cold and sweet but as a personal preference, I don't really enjoy bitter flavors and the slice of lemon under the radish threw it off a bit - Eggs on eggs on eggs--words cannot adequately describe the unctuousness of this dish, it's like eating rich, buttery velvet on a crispy, fluffy log of brioche. As a bonus, they bring you an extra toast to mop up all the tasty bits - Pumpkin seed sourdough and cultured butter--okay I totally didn't know this was meant to be eaten with the next dish so given total lack of self control in the face of pillowy fresh bread and perhaps the smoothest butter on the planet, I may or may not have eaten it all before the trout showed up... they were nice enough to give us more :') - Sea trout with clams and saffron shellfish broth--the fish was cooked to literal perfection and the clam and saffron sauce enhanced everything even more. This fights with the chicken dish for spot #2 in my favorites of this meal - Heritage chicken, provençal asparagus, vin jaune--this reminds me of the stuffed chicken from Per Se and was cooked just as well. The vin jaune sauce was slightly nutty with an incredibly rich flavor and also went well with the bread - Lamb saddle, romanesco, and lemon poached dates--for some reason I thought the chicken was the final savory course and I did not pace myself at all and was so full by this point. The lamb was tender and the date was a wonderful bite though - Wild strawberries and cacao--I can't remember what was all in this but I loved the little wild strawberries as they were like delicious strawberry gummies - Dark chocolate cremeux, meyer lemon, and espresso--delicious with interesting flavors, I haven't had many lemon, chocolate, and coffee combinations - Mignardises of raspberry, lemon coconut, cherry cheesecake--only one I tried was the cherry cheesecake bonbon but my husband ate 'em all so they must've been good lol The MVP of this meal was the melon lemonade mocktail, made with honeydew, jasmine, and pandan. Might be the most perfect drink for me ever made because it was melony with a subtle floral note from the pandan and jasmine, and only lightly sweet and tart, everything I love. Sooooo good! Service was pretty good up until we wanted to pay, and for some reason it became really difficult to find someone to close us out. We waited almost 20 minutes between the mignardises and finally being able to pay, even actively looking around trying to flag someone down. Despite The Modern not being the most innovative of meals, it's easily one of my all time favorites. I definitely prefer food that's executed well over food that's pushing boundaries, and may be back any time I'm in town.

Hands down the best restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had…read more We wanted to treat ourselves for our anniversary, and I had recently watched their Bon Appétit behind-the-scenes video. Their entire operation seemed so incredibly focused, meticulous, and inspiring that we knew we had to try it. We started with the Iberico ham and the hiramasa tart, both incredible. Then came the chilled lobster, which was super fresh and refreshing, served with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate clean. Every dish felt refined without being overly complicated. The service was extraordinary. You can immediately tell the front-of-house team is operating at an extremely high level and is aware of everything happening in the room at all times. At one point, my wife stepped away to use the restroom just as they were about to serve the first course. Without saying a word or making anything awkward, the staff simply looped around a couple of times until she returned. The moment she sat down, they resumed service seamlessly without missing a beat. That level of awareness and professionalism really stood out to us. Next came the rye bread, which was fresh and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, paired with delicious butter. Then we had the sea bass with crab, which was phenomenal and one of my favorite dishes of the night. But the true star of the show for me was the lamb. My wife and I grill lamb racks often, and I genuinely had no idea this level of perfection existed. It was cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. If I was not in public, I probably would have been scraping the bone clean :) Big shoutout to one of the staff members, Stephanie, who completely made our night. We were telling her how excited we were to finally visit after watching the Bon Appétit video, and she casually asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchen after dinner. Honestly, I thought she was joking at first. Then she came back after dessert and reminded us. Even after paying the bill, I still thought maybe she was kidding, but then she walked over smiling and said, "Let's go." My wife and I were completely geeked out. Seeing the kitchen in person was surreal. It was exactly like the video: super meticulous, orders being called out and repeated in unison, everyone moving with total precision and purpose. You could see the Omega clock, the Michelin stars on the wall, and just the overall culture of excellence behind everything they do. We were honestly in awe. Thank you again, Stephanie. That experience meant so much to us. Every time we visit a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion, I always wonder whether it will truly live up to the hype. Some completely miss the mark. Some are very good. But none have delivered on every aspect the way The Modern did. This is officially our favorite restaurant in the world.

The host was very kind and the bartender who had taken our order at the bar quickly noticed the waiter had given us the wrong fries at first and got us the correct item. The tacos were better than expected. I loved the blackened shrimp tacos! I'd also recommend Only Fans (pornstar martini)

Stopped by Bartley Dunnes for a few happy hour drinks before heading to Museum of Modern Art for an…read moreevent. They have a great happy hour running from open until 8 PM, including $6 beers and $8 cocktails, which is a great deal for the area. ordered the Bartleys Spritz (Aperol Spritz) and a Tequila Mule. We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
