Love the ambiance and the intimate space. I'm usually very skeptical of Filipino food in restaurants having grown up in a Filipino household. What I appreciate here is that the food here are truly exquisite, with Filipino flavors and ingredients (think kalamansi) but not a reinvention of Filipino food per say. There's still so much on the menu I want to go back and try but special call out to the flavorful and fresh fluke Crudo + the spaghetti seafood dish that . Looking forward to maybe trying all their ice cream on next visit. Callout that the main menu itself doesn't have a huge veggie friendly selection and mostly seafood leaning, if that is a preference. I personally would have eaten everything on it!

Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and made the dinner feel like an event. The food was great too, I had a date salad I think and my friend had the gnocchi. Both delicious. It was my birthday so we got a dessert and champagne which was fantastic. The red wine we got was truly phenomenal. Someone in a review wrote it was the best wine selection in NYC and I think that might be true. Overall the food is solid but I feel like in NYC that's table stakes. The service is great the ambiance is really intimate but energetic and not too loud which takes the place to the top for me. Great for dates, catch ups but price wise definitely a treat

If you are looking for a seriously indulgent dinner complemented with outstanding wine pairings in an elegant, , relaxing atmosphere, Justine's is the place to go. My husband and I went on NYE with a 5-course prix fixe menu and I have to admit we were scoping out pizza places nearby in case we were hungry after. This was beyond unnecessary because the food at Justine's is absolutely delicious and the serving sizes were exceptionally generous. We chose to sit at the bar to see the action in the kitchen and it was exceptionally comfortable. The host and servers were all lovely and helpful with menu questions and suggested wine pairings. We tried almost every item on the menu and everything was delicious. I had the Sunchoke Soup, Bea Spaghetti and Braised Short Rib and they were all outstanding. The spaghetti was up there with any pasta I've had in Italy or top Italian spots in NYC. I was absolutely stuffed by the time the short ribs came but that dish was so delicious I had to finish it! I'm a huge dessert fan but I was so full from the other courses that I don't know if I gave the desserts a fair shot. The Butter Maman was super rich, and I might really enjoy it with an afternoon coffee or a lighter meal. It was very heavy without saving room for dessert. The Cashew Sansrival was a little funky and I wouldn't order it again. I was curious to try the parm ice cream but it was a little too far outside the standard dessert flavor relam for my taste. For wines I started with the Blanc de Blancs, which was worth the splurge for a true champagne. The Beaujolais recommended by my server as a less pricy option paired beautifully with the short rib. I will definitely visit again with zero worries of leaving hungry even with two courses.

Only had few days to explore NYC and a dinner at Justine's was such a delight. The staff were amazing and the service was top notch. I'm still dreaming about the salmon carpaccio (thin sliced guava was a nice touch) and the chicken goes perfectly well with the risotto. Will definitely comeback.

This small, bistro on Hudson Street is a great addition to the culinary scene. The small menu is very creative with everything we ate being unique and flavorful. The service is wonderful and the restaurant, although tiny, is beautiful.

Small intimate restaurant with a good vibe, wonderful service, and tasty food! We ordered the heirloom tomato appetizer and the trout and chicken entrees. The heirloom tomato appetizer was SO refreshing and delicious. I'm not sure it's worth $25 but it was good!

West Village's Precious Gem. Indulge yourself to a fusion of cultures through their food which was delicately put together to give you the distinct and rich flavors that you will not forget. Great selection of wines and cocktails! We were greeted by Filipino crews and the Filipino Chefs too! Shout out to Chef Arron Justin! Definitely a must visit when you are in the area :) Will visit again!

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Thank you to my lovely friend who spent who knows how long trying to get a reservation here. Chilled celtuce (4/5): is it a combination of celery and lettuce? idk but it kinda reminded me of radish, with a clean/slightly bland flavor but it had this hydrating quality to it and a nice crunch. Sesame shao bing (5/5): a literal drug in the most innocuous and tasty form of flatbread. It has the crispiest flake on the outside with a perfectly chewy doughiness to it and a literal slab of butter inside, which melts in real time (careful not to go too ham and let it dribble down your arms and get all over your clothes...because it's just THAT good). Sweet & sour short rib (4/5): the cook on these short ribs were super tender, I just think the marinade was very strong, with a particularly vinegary aroma. Eight treasure rice pudding with sticky toffee (4/5): she's a 4 only because I don't like toffee, but the rice pudding was hands down heavenly. Service was solid, and they have a chic, dim ambience for the tables inside whereas the outdoor seating sits underneath the lanterns and soaks up the streets of Chinatown, so each have a merit of its own.

Appreciate the quality service and the intriguing menu; the food does come pricey, but there are some interesting innovation to make it a worthwhile one time experience. Zhong Zi - One of the best wrapped glutinuous rice I've had; its impressive how light they made the rice so it isn't all consuming on the belly. Celtuce - Impressive dish that transforms simple ingredients into a show stopper; the celtuce is tender and performs great osmosis to absorb that addictive vinaigarette. The crisp onion adds a delightful depth and texture. Cheung Fun - The cheung fun technique needs to be improved as the rice crepe is too thick, especially when the competition is at at all time high just within blocks. The command on textures is very nice with the crisp vegetable filling and saline burst of roe. However, the salinity of roe plus the soy needs sweetness to balance the saline forward dish. Beef Short Rib - Addictively sumptuous short rib in a fruit candied sweet and savory glaze. The beef falls off the bone with ease and goes together with their rice so harmoniously. Sticky Rice Pudding - Brilliant adaptation of the sticky toffee pudding; I never realized how well a sticky rice could pair so well with the muscovado caramel until this dish. Don't miss this.
