We stepped in and were immediately greeted by the sweet older woman working plus an amazing aroma of freshly baked bread. We quickly ordered as many more people were coming and going in the small shop. I picked the apple strudel and a seeded rye loaf. My husband chose mini baguette and a pretzel for our daughter. Everything was incredible but especially the loaf of rye. It was the best bread I've had in ages.

It appears he makes a fresh batch of treats each morning. So, we naturally went for those goodies that were hot out of the oven. I am not a scone person, and my scone was divine! Just barely sweet, with just enough chocolate chips and raisins to add some bite. My husband ordered a croissant and cheese danish; both of which he devoured! Coffee was "light and sweet," just how we like it. The best part, though, was the service! The owner is such a fabulous host and got us acquainted with the neighborhood by advising where we should go enjoy our treat (see pic; a beautifully manicured residential park on the water). Today, 3/7/26, Alex, the associate at the bakery counter, told me that the filling is a mixture of prune and apricot. The combo makes for a delicious dessert. Be sure to check the bakery out the next time you are in Roslyn Heights. You will not regret it because the vibe is so suburban chic!

Both were delicious and not too sweet. The donut muffin tasted like cinnamon and the texture is more like cake donut. The blueberry scone was also good, there were so many blueberries inside and was not too sweet which I loved. I was hard to choose which ones to buy since the other pastries looked good as well. For other pastries, they had cookies, pies and breads.
