Despite my best efforts in the past to do Fall train rides, which turned out to be disappointing only because there was never any good colors on trees, this by far is the very best fall foliage experience I've ever had in my life. You get great views of the tree color transitions and just great photo opportunities. It does get cold on the water so bring a jacket. Experience is as excellent as last time with beverages and snacks for purchase. If you enjoy fall colors, great scenery and boats then you have to do this at least once.

My girlfriend and I spent a few hours here on a Sunday afternoon in May. If you rent a boat you can keep it out as long as you want, and you have access to the whole property for the entire day. We spent awhile in kayaks and had the whole lake to ourselves for the entire time. We then spent some time down at the swimming hole and had that to ourselves as well. Everyone who works there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful day overall and the perfect end to a perfect weekend getaway.

I was out on my boat on the Hudson River early on a Sunday evening and needed gas. Every fuel dock…read morethat I stopped at was closed for the day and I was starting to run low. Instead of burning gas going to each marina, I began calling ahead. Rogers Point was getting ready to close, but the person who answered the phone (it's a yacht club run by it's own members) said he will stay open and wait for me. I filled up and we were able to enjoy the rest of the night on the boat thanks to Rogers Point. The member who helped me also said to call the marina by radio any time when they're closed and any of the members will be glad to come out and open up the fuel pump. Great place just north of the Walkway on the Hudson for any boaters who are ever in need of gas - and reasonable gas prices.

Went on a rafting tour with Lander's River Trips over the Fourth of July weekend. The trip itself…read morewas nice - although we did get stuck quite often in shallow water - but the business was quite disappointing. First off, when I registered my party, none of the employees were wearing masks (not very comforting during covid). Additionally, mask requirements were not enforced for guests either, which was quite unnerving in a small enclosed space where people definitely did not stay 6 feet apart. Similarly, no masks were worn by employees on the shuttle busses to and from the rafting site. Considering that you share a bus or van with a group of people, this seems against public health recommendations - especially because all busses/vans had signs up requiring masks. Lastly, receiving our raft was quite chaotic. It wasn't clear where to go or who to talk to, and my group spent quite some time trying to get the attention of the employees. I may go back once the pandemic is over as the trio was very scenic, but would not recommend going at the moment.

We stayed at the Lander's River Skinners Falls Campground. Unless you want to hear loud music and…read moregenerators going all night long, avoid this campground like the plague. The people who come here are really stretching the concept of "camping". They bring giant speakers and even TVs and power them with loud gas generators. The campground supposedly has quiet hours after 11pm but they do nothing to enforce them and when you bring up the lack of enforcement they just kind of shrug. One night we stayed people played loud music all through the night until 5am. If you value enjoying nature with a good night's sleep stay far far away from here.
