I have been trying to find the best donut in the area and so many people have said good things about this place so i decided to give it a try but I was a bit disappointed. I came on Wednesday where they had a special for $1.60 eclairs so I got an eclair, as well as the custard filled Bismarck and glazed donut. The eclair was so good! Completely filled with a creamy delicious custard. Definitely come and try their eclairs!! The donuts, however are where I was disappointed. They are dense and chewy and just not pleasant to eat. Since the Bismarck was filled with custard (a good amount too) it wasn't as bad but don't get the regular glazed donut if you like a fluffy donut like me. The Riverside Bake Shop is the absolute best bakery. Over the years I have tried just about every doughnut they make. My all time absolute favorite is the Custard filled Bismark. It's a nice size doughnut just filled full with a great tasting custard. I have never had a Bismark from anywhere else that has as much custard as Riverside's. The Bismark also has a great tasting chocolate topping. I highly recommend trying one. They are awesome. I have also had their cookies and coffee cakes. They are also very good. I really like the coffee cake topped with cherries. I know I have tried the cakes but it's been too long to give an honest opinion on those. Another awesome treat they offer on Fat Tuesday is the Packi's. These are another great treat that is a cross between a doughnut and a cake, or maybe a cream puff. A Packi is a powdered doughnut split in half and just filled with a nice fluffy cream and other fillings such as cherries, blueberries, and my favorite is the one filled with cream and banana pudding and slices of banana. They have a nice variety, but it's best to order them in advance to get exactly what you want. You can't go wrong with the Riverside Bake Shop. read more

It was our first time going, so we didn't know that payments are cash and check only. There is an ATM provided but I believe it was a $3 charge for using it. I used to love this bakery but some items have been really dry lately. The blueberry muffins are terrible. They taste like a blueberry cupcake that is very dry with all blueberries in the very bottom dry. McDonald's makes better quality blueberry muffins. Seriously! I'd stick with fruit filled bakery items if I were you. That way there's more moisture. read more
