Horrific. Dirty. FLY IN MY DRINK. Nothing was done to atone this. My drink was taken and I was not even given another drink. Think twice about eating here. Highly unsanitary

Moved into town recently and was excited to see an IHOP. visited today and was super disappointed. Son ordered the turkey dinner which was $14. out came a small plate with turkey bits in gravy (he is not picky and left most of it as he said it tasted bad). he got two sides - mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. the portions were no more than a heaping tablespoon and a piece of garlic toast. way overpriced at $14. the drinks were small and the iced tea cloudy and tasted old. our server was incredibly nice and attentive. the restaurant had a foul smell to it - overall an unpleasant and expensive experience.

Hey everybody, IHOP is open for indoor dining. Stopped in Sunday morning and got seated immediately. Our waitress Kim is awesome! We request her every time we dine in. Kim is very attentive and makes sure you are happy. Food comes quick and coffee is always topped off. Stop in and ask for Kim and get a great meal.

This is one of the only places in McHenry open on Christmas Day, but I'm glad we stopped in! There was only one server working (John) but he was super attentive to us and cracking jokes. We tried the new Wonka menu- the lemonade was a nod to my childhood. The experience was interactive since you could dip the cotton candy into the drink or scrape the icing off the sides of the glass. They also have impossible burgers, which are perfect for vegetarians if you don't want pancakes. This location has stepped up their game in recent years! I haven't had a bad experience here, but I always enjoy visiting this place for a breakfast with family or a nonchalant Christmas dinner. Seriously though, John is such a great server. He made our night for sure!

Ordered breakfast for the family, and a fruit cup for my child and the fruit was MOLDY. Moldy fruit for my child. No thanks, IHOP, no thanks. Check your food before eating, folks. Imagine how many customers ate mold that day before I discovered it, and how many continued eating moldy fruit because the manager didn't take the time to address the issue with me on the phone. I was told to call during a small window of time in the morning the next day to discuss with the manager. So, yeah, this place only gets one star because I'm not able to give less. A truly gross establishment. This was just the fruit. The establishment itself is a hole. We pulled up and less-than-inviting employees were outside smoking. One employee walked by and wiped his runny nose with his latex gloves. It's a hot mess. I won't bother calling back for a $5.99 refund for the fruit, or the even the $30 for the meal. They can't make up for the fact that they served, and continued serving, moldy fruit. Nothing they can do will convince me to return. I'll go to Crystal Lake next time. Customer lost. Get your act together. Gross and sad.

This was a gluten free waffle with strawberries and whip cream. Whip cream was maybe a teaspoon at most so I threw it out.

Get the men's bathroom fixed. The two urinals have been out of order for several months.

So I decided to try it for lunch and am torn between 3-4 stars. I got the breaded veal diner/dinner type special, posted on the board behind the counter seating. $14. And it came with bean or cream of potato soup. The veal was not a whole piece of veal but a ground concoction that seemed like something from the grocery frozen food section. Not awful but not awesome. Then again this is a little diner so should I expect chef food? It is called Little Chef. Undecided. It was served hot and crisp which was good because the gravy and mashed taters were definitely overwhelming the texture and flavor of the meal. The gravy was ok but a little different taste than any gravy I've ever had. Definitely not homemade and was very strong flavored. I think if it had some beans or a small salad included with this would have been happier. I got hot tea which was a challenge as the water spilled all over from the tea pot and I was told to put my hand on the top to avoid that, but then your finger got a little bit of burn from the hot metal. The soup was good and I took it home. The service was fine, absolutely no issues there and since it wasn't too busy, as expected. I know everyone's prices everywhere have gone up, but I just can't justify what I paid for what I got. Again not sure what expectations should be in this economy or where to put the extra minus star for the state of restaurants and value, but this was just a bit under expectations.

ALL the servers, bartenders and the host were super friendly and hard working, even when they were packed and pressured. The reason for this is our last two visits, Judging my mother for what she ordered and gossiping with drunks at the bar loudly enough that we can hear is absurdly rude. Sorry its a slow night but maybe don't judge a vegetarian for not loving bacon and mocking them to other customers. Its just a bad showing. We come here often, so to be treated like that is heartbreaking. Now, my mom can't be certain they haven't been gossiping about her pretty simple order, a wrap with no meat, the entire time. Also just turn off the depressing news on the tv's its obnoxious when we are sitting down and just trying to have a good time. Put on a fun tv show, the game, something else.

I'm glad we didn't skip this place based on the Yelp reviews. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown McHenry and next to the river. I highly recommend sitting in the enclosed patio. It's spacious, full of tvs, and has a nice view of the river. You can tell based on the menu and confirmed by our server, burgers are their thing. All kinds including beef, bison, chicken, turkey, veggie and fish, some choices are an up charge. The burgers come with a side, some have an up charge. Our server mentioned everything is made in-house. I feel it's a rarity of restaurants to made their food in-house so it made me excited for the food. Everything is reasonably price. I opted for the BFM burger and pickle chips ($2 up charge). The burger was juicy and well cooked. Their burgers are 1/2 lbs so it was big. The pickle chips were crunchy and really good. Portion was huge and worth the up charge. My lunch partner chose Cajun fries and they were crispy and flavorful. Our server was great! She was so nice! One negative, they allow dogs and many people brought their dogs. Since the space is enclosed, I did not like all the dogs while I was eating. It was tricky leaving since the hostess stand is located in the tight entrance and there was a dog right in the doorway. My lunch companion is deathly allergic to dogs. Luckily this dog owner was considerate and moved their dog so we could pass. Other than all the dogs, we enjoyed our meal and would come again.
