The waffle was golden brown and the toppings were placed in the center, which was better than what I was expecting where the cheesecake topping is just smothered all over the top! The scrambled eggs were a little under browned. The hashbrowns & bacon strips were done very well not very well done! Music seem to be coming from the kitchen and it was almost too loud to hear the waitress, but I'd rather have music in the dining room and not. Moved into town recently and was excited to see an IHOP. visited today and was super disappointed. Son ordered the turkey dinner which was $14. out came a small plate with turkey bits in gravy (he is not picky and left most of it as he said it tasted bad). he got two sides - mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. the portions were no more than a heaping tablespoon and a piece of garlic toast. way overpriced at $14. the drinks were small and the iced tea cloudy and tasted old. our server was incredibly nice and attentive. the restaurant had a foul smell to it - overall an unpleasant and expensive experience. read more

This is one of the only places in McHenry open on Christmas Day, but I'm glad we stopped in! There was only one server working (John) but he was super attentive to us and cracking jokes. We tried the new Wonka menu- the lemonade was a nod to my childhood. The experience was interactive since you could dip the cotton candy into the drink or scrape the icing off the sides of the glass. They also have impossible burgers, which are perfect for vegetarians if you don't want pancakes. This location has stepped up their game in recent years! I haven't had a bad experience here, but I always enjoy visiting this place for a breakfast with family or a nonchalant Christmas dinner. Seriously though, John is such a great server. Imagine how many customers ate mold that day before I discovered it, and how many continued eating moldy fruit because the manager didn't take the time to address the issue with me on the phone. I was told to call during a small window of time in the morning the next day to discuss with the manager. So, yeah, this place only gets one star because I'm not able to give less. A truly gross establishment. This was just the fruit. The establishment itself is a hole. We pulled up and less-than-inviting employees were outside smoking. One employee walked by and wiped his runny nose with his latex gloves. It's a hot mess. I won't bother calling back for a $5.99 refund for the fruit, or the even the $30 for the meal. They can't make up for the fact that they served, and continued serving, moldy fruit. Nothing they can do will convince me to return. I'll go to Crystal Lake next time. Customer lost. The kids are grown. The little one is now 14. Out with his friends for an end of summer minion extravaganza. Mom: First off, the service was great! Very nice server and attentive. I got the fajita bowl. It was ok. I would lose the beef and add more hash browns, but that's just me. We started with the cinniminions and we all agree they were "straight fire " 14 year old child: the service was fantastic. The cinnaminions were delectable. The water was absolutely horrendous but it's fine. Cold gru iced coffee was literally just black coffee. I took my great aunt out for breakfast this morning (Saturday) - and opted for IHOP since I figured they'd have more seating than another breakfast joint. We were seated immediately. Our server was kind of cute in that she and my aunt joked about carding her for the Senior price and margaritas. :) The food was good - standard, but decent portions for the price. The place was empty but the person who sat us was super friendly... there must have been maybe 4-5 tables occupied with patrons; of which two out of the five tables were just individuals dining alone. We were sat next to this lady that was FaceTiming on her phone; we pretty much heard her entire conversation during our 25 minute stay. She was obnoxiously loud- not IHOP's fault. We were just handed our menus and off she went. It's incredible the amount of bad service we have encountered lately. Probably one of the worst breakfasts I've ever had. I came here because we had gotten a $50.00 gift card. I'm so glad we had that because if I would have had to pay out of pocket I would have flipped. We were seated near the entrance and we had to wear our coats the entire time because it was so cold. We waited an hour for our food and granted, it was noon on a Sunday so it was busy. Had the food been a little good it would've have been fine. We ordered a split decision breakfast, French toast combo, an order of mozzarella sticks and a side of fries. After an hour of waiting and freezing our food finally arrived. Our pancakes and French toast had no butter on them. We were given little butter packets that we pretty much solid and would not spread. The food was cold and almost inedible. 4) when the waiter took my debit card, he forgot to give it back to me. So I left without it on accident. (Not thinking) I realized it when I got home 2 hours away, called to see if they would mail it, and the manager (who I could barely understand and thought I was an employee calling) told me it would inconvenience him because he would have to buy a stamp and mail it. But first I would have to sign something stating he wasn't responsible if it got lost in the mail! ‍‍‍ I told him to keep my card cuz that hassle was worse than getting a new one altogether. I mean, really? Your employee forgot to give me back my card, and I admit to forgetting to get it too, but you couldn't be a decent human and send it to me? Forget it. So needless to say, I'm waiting 7 days for a new card from my bank, but this place will never get my business again! And I am in the area often. read more

Horrible. First time I went the waitress was messed up on some sort of drug. This second time there was hair in my butter for chicken and waffles and it was over cooked and hard. We also got rib tips and shrimp and the shrimp was super fishy and ribs tips were over cooked and the onions with it were sour. read more

Service with Kaitlyn is the best, you ask about something on menu & she accommodates when she can, at least she asks.
