I have been bringing my son here for the past 4 years and more recently my younger son as well. The Dentists have been great, however, the front desk employees are beyond rude. There are issues with verifying insurance at EVERY VISIT. They wanted me to pay out of pocket for my younger sons appointment today because they needed more than 6 hours to verify his coverage. When I offered to bring in proof of insurance, I was told that they needed a more detailed report than I could provide. My spouse and I both came to the appointment and didn't find out until we got there that only one parent is allowed in the back. It would have been nice to have been informed of this policy beforehand. I really appreciate how nice the dentist was. That being said, she rushed through everything without communicating to my child what she was about to do. This was particularly troubling because it was my child's first experience at the dentist. I assume many children are scared and so it can seem easier to get things done as quickly as possible, but communication is important. The part that was most bothersome was that the dental assistant hardly acknowledged my child's existence. It's like she was just going through the motions of doing her job, without recognizing the very real person in front of her. Again, they did a fine job, but in a caring profession like dentistry, particularly one in which you deal with children, I think it's important to slow down, connect with the child, and walk them through what they're experiencing. read more

Although they THINK they may be a good dentistry, be prepared for attitude as soon as you get there, from being extremely rude, telling you to wear a mask (which is no longer state mandated) to asking what time your appointment is. I'm curious as to why, if we were already there, and wasting time from our day, did they not get the whole job completed? Why space out 3 fillings for 3 appointments? This place has gone downhill. Front office is unprofessional. Had to cancel my appointment due to being an on call nurse and not being able to give 48 hr notice. Wanted to charge $50 to reschedule which is their policy and that's fine but to charge Medi-cal patients that much is not ok. Brought my baby for her first dentist appointment and she really enjoyed it. The staff is friendly and they explain everything pretty well. I was just confused as to why they didn't do any work on her besides the cleaning. They said she had cavities on either side of her mouth and that they would work on one side first and then the other, which is fine, but they didn't do anything that day. I work at a neurology practice during regular business hours and now I have to miss two more days of work in addition to this one. I guess you really can't have it all huh? Anyways, it's still a nice practice and I will still continue bringing her here based on the service provided and how comfortable they made my baby feel. About 4 months ago my son went in w his father, (we were in the process to evaluate my son of Autism), he went in for a visit at the dentist and my son was just not having it crying screaming I mean this is a 2 in a half year old toddler that just hates dentist and doctors offices. But the nurses from what my sons father states is that they basically kicked him out, the nurses looked annoyed. I am sorry I am also in the medical Field and I understand kids adults that might have or have Autism or have special needs. Maybe if you cant handle crying and screaming those nurses or DA should not be there. Just my opinion. I've taken my kids twice but they make you make appointments months in advance after your first appointment and than charge you $50 for canceling . It's Friday and I canceled an appointment I had for my children on Monday (that was made months ago by them) and they're saying I have to pay $50 to reschedule ? that's more than 48 hours in advance . Never heard of this policy and it's a really easy way to loose patients. Plenty of other nice kids dentists that don't do this. So if you're a busy parent who can't afford those kind of fees I would definitely find a different place. read more

It has taken us a while to find a really good children's dentist and I am beyond happy we found Riverside Children's Dentistry. From the moment we walked in I felt this would be our new dentist. The staff is amazing, polite and have creative ways of making the visit less scary for the little ones. Dr. Dan was soo wonderful and great with our son. He explained course of treatment and made sure all our questions were answered. Not once did I feel rushed. The wait time was not long at all. they have canceled my son's past two appointments. The most recent was this past Monday when they apparently sent me forms via text message and I hadn't filled them out and then my mom explain to them that I work inside a state facility where I am not allowed to have my phone. They were unable and unaccommodating about the fact that I was not able to reach my phone. when my mom asked them if they could send it to my work email they said they had to send it to the email on file which was my personal one which I also do not have access to at work. They wanted me to go ahead and bring any phone from outside this facility and bring it in and break state law. again this is the second time that they canceled my appointment and this time my mom was there with both my kids and that is not an easy task for a grandma. Very very unhelpful and it felt like they were making fun of the situation. Instead of being proactive and trying to go ahead and help. They also didn't recommend a quick appointments because of the entire mishap and instead said I would have to call to reschedule when my mom was right there and they could've offered an appointment later in the week. I've never been treated like this at any dentist and for some reason this dentist likes to only send forms via text message and mind you. These are the same forms for each appointment. I wonder if they do this to patients that are not text savvy or if they have print outs of the papers read more

My 2yr old son had his check up today, with Dr.Dan and I have to say, Dr.Dan was amazing with my son! Usually it's such a fight with him to brush his teeth, he cries, have to hold him down, kicks and screams, or bites down, the whole works! But this time no tears, no fighting, or anything! First time visiting this dentist and I must say I was very happy with their service from beginning to end. The girls at the front were very attentive and answered all my questions politely. One of the reason I came here was because they had availability within 1-2 weeks of me calling to schedule something unlike other dentist places I've called. The place was nice and clean, and very kid friendly as they had TVs hanging flat on the cealing. The dental assistant and the dentist were spectacular. They both provided insight in a non judgmental way and were super engaging with my 3 year old. She did so amazing and I think part of it is because she had kid friendly people. In the end she got a tooth brush, tooth paste and a balloon which she was very happy about. I am definitely going back. I brought all my kids to this dentistry and everyone has been amazing up until today. Two of my children needed oral sedation to continue treatment so I was asked to have a medical clearance form filled out by my children's doctor. It was submitted this week since I was told the appointment was for tomorrow, 1/15/21. I called them today to confirm the appointments and was told there was no appointments scheduled for my children. Instead of acknowledging they made a mistake, the office manager or whoever I spoke with could care less. She said that the appointments were never scheduled because I did not pay money up front for the medication that was needed. I was never told it was due up front. Even when the medical clearance was turned in, no one asked for the money. Yes I was upset and had every right to be. She was rude and unprofessional and could care less. I had a few bad experiences find the right dentist for my 2.5 year old and was told he needed some work and they wanted to put him under anesthesia which I wasn't comfortable with. I found this dentist and seen all the raving reviews and thought I'd give it a shot and get a second opinion for my baby. I'm so glad I came here Rosa the RDA made him and myself feel so comfortable and actually took the time to talk to him so he wasn't as scared. The actual dentist (didn't get her name) was also so amazing and we decided to take a non aggressive approach to treat his cavities(which he only had 2 not 8 like the previous dentist stated), which worked best for all of us together.
