Don't buy their ammo!!! Bring your own. They were duds. They wouldn't fire and the workers said it was my guns issue. Tested it later and they worked perfectly with different ammo. Super expensive too. They have a ton of signs worrying about you shooting the cardboard you hang the targets on, instead of worrying about the ammo they sell you. First time for my self at an indoor range... few visits for my husband and wow what a great experience we had tonight! We recently purchased a new firearm and wanted to get comfortable with it. The 2 gentleman there ( Eric, and didn't get the others name unfortunately) were beyond friendly, knowledgeable, professional, helpful and informative. Eric at one point came over and asked us if we would like him to look at our shooting handling, stance ect. Wow what a difference in the few amazing pointers he gave to my husband and I! Arrived right when they opened on a Wednesday morning. Plenty of targets, gear to rent and it wasn't busy. The staff were super friendly and even helped my father in law out. I've been her a few times and every time that I walked in, it was dead silent and almost as if I was interrupting the people behind the counter. Twice they were very rude and it seemed like I was bothering them but I kept telling myself well maybe some one has had a bad day. Carry on, after ID check, ammo check, and firearm check, I finally made it to the range where a friend of mine was meeting me after work. The range is perfect, spacious, modern, cool, clean, and they had some one going lane to lane checking on things. Shot about 250 of my own rounds and after an hour and a half we had enough. On our way out we noticed the people in the back counter interacting and being friendly with people coming in, we thought, great they were probably having a moment when we came in but when it was our turn to pay we got the same rude attitude as when I walked in.. I guess you have to be a cop or a regular to get treated with respect here. We came in on a Thursday and didn't know it was two for one, the guy on the register gave us our IDs back and told my friend hey it's Thursday so it's 2 for 1, are you paying for your girlfriend here? and pointed at me. I'm not one to get offended easily but if these guys would have joked around and made it a good experience the moment I walked in I wouldn't have a problem with it, and would have joked with them as well. Beautiful range, very high pricing, and rude staff every time I'm there is making me give them only a 2 star rating. Maybe next time I'm there they have better customer service and a welcoming experience. It's no wonder 1st time shooters rate this place so low. read more

The employees were helpful when I called and politely explained how it worked and how to schedule any lessons. The place is nothing fancy and a bit old, but the experience was great nonetheless. They are conveniently located, the staff is very helpful and the prices are reasonable. I especially enjoy that the lanes are wide and the facility is always clean. You can purchase targets and ammo as well as rent firearms, which is a pretty standard thing for a range. There is private parking which means you don't have to park on the road, just be aware that there is currently construction next door. Clean range. Nice place. But I'm saddened to see your nickel and dime for everything here. Some things are explained others left out. The guys here need to understand the difference between men and women when it comes to conceal carry options. Don't think I will be visiting again. Hands down, now our favorite indoor range. Tbh, a lot of indoor ranges are pretty similar, maybe some have better selections for rentals, but that's about it. We were so surprised with how quiet it was once we parked, we actually thought that maybe this place didn't have too many people shooting that day...nope! Once we got in, although still pretty quiet, there were lots of people at their range. So that's great how sound proof this range is. This range is probably one of the bigger and cleanest ones we've been to. They're very respectable with the social distancing rules and so have all of the people that have gone into this range. Also, another BIG factor as to why this place has become our favorite, is their customer service is just so awesome! Every time we've gone in, everyone that's helped us has always been welcoming, super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. read more

The range itself is ok, though it is a bit run down and not very well ventilated. The staff is ok, I guess. They don't exactly give you a warm welcome but they also aren't hostile. The one shot a second rule when firing is annoying but also, unfortunately, not uncommon with fuddish indoor ranges. My biggest gripe is that they don't allow people to use their legally owned "high capacity" magazines. An employee told me that it was against the law to use a "high capacity" magazine. It isn't against the law, it's only against their rules, and it would be nice if they would refrain from giving people incorrect legal advice. read more

This is absolutely a wonderful gun range. It's very clean, professional and organized. Professional, accommodating and courteous staff. Prices are very reasonable. It's spacious. They have a great gunsmith on sight that does great work and he'll even do a deep cleaning on your gun while you're shooting your other guns. He did an excellent job on my Springfield emp. I went in to shoot but saw that they offer lessons. I badly needed a pistol class or 2. The classes are buy appointment only but I was blessed that his student was a no show and he had an immediate opening so I jumped on the chance. The instructor was Bill Padgett and his class is thorough yet to the point. He taught me some very interesting history and mechanics of the guns and explained different calibers as well as the physics of shooting. I felt like a wide eyed kid absorbing it all. We did some dry fire techniques before we moved into a private range and shot a very nice Ruger 22 at 1st. Right out of the gates my accuracy was night and day difference just from what he taught me in dry fire. I was hitting bullseyes and putting rounds through the same hole. Then we moved to 9mm with my Springfield emp. Was doing just as good! He coached next on my mistakes and commended me when I was accurate. He's patient and really good at what he does. If I remember correctly I think he used to train Secret Service. He's also an Olympic gold medalist shooter and has seen many of his students into the Olympics to take home gold medals with pics to prove it. At 1st I thought I needed my sights dialed in but I realized it had to be me because I was shooting a brand new $1200 dollar Springfield. After taking his class I've realized my gun and my own true potential. His class is very affordable and I'd honestly pay double, even triple to get the results that I did. I can't praise Bill enough. He's such a joy to work with and a kind, caring soul. I live in Pasadena and I was so happy with the class that I extended my rental car and booked a hotel nearby so I could take a second course from him the next day. We shot 22 again to start and moved on to 45 with a great Springfield 1911. Afterward I rented a lane to practice with my 9mm And well I'm going to post a pic of the difference of my groupings before and after training. The before pic was from the last time I shot at my local range in LA. The after pic was obviously from this awesome range. I highly recommend this range and if you want to get your mom or young one lessons. The private range with Bill would keep them more at ease to learn. Can't wait to come back! read more

Safe, experienced and attentive team! Let's just start off this review by saying that our instructor Bob is absolutely amazing! My wife and I were looking for something to do on a boring Friday night, when we call, Bob was very attentive and excited to answer all question over the phone. My wife's not a big gun enthusiast, in fact... She dislikes them because of the negativity that the media has built around our current society! When we arrived, the facility was clean, staff was so attentive, supportive, and patient with us! Despite our inexperience with shooting, our instructor took his time with us, spent at least 30 min to make sure that we are safe and comfortable before allowing us to unleash hell onto our target (My wife had so much fun) Let's just say...my wife's perspective about guns has changed since! I gave my only other review of RISR shortly after it first went into business. In fact if you look at that old guy with the orange shooting shirt on at the header of all the reviews for RISR, that's me. I don't do many YELP reviews as I don't think anyone that reads these reviews are looking for the mushy middle ones. They only really want to see the ones that say an establishment is either the best or the worst. Since I retired I tend to go to only the best places. Fortunately some hard work and wise investments has given me the ability to mostly go to only the best. While sometimes I'm surprised by the ones that get great reviews but turned out to be really bad (or vice versa), it mostly plays out as reviewed. That said, RISR is quite phenomenal. With 3 bays of 10 lanes each and 1 INSIDE bay for Archery, it is big. A total of 35 lanes, all inside a comfortably air conditioned complex of about 21,000 square feet. It has separate classrooms for its educational offerings, outside tables for shooters to brag about how great they shot (and then show their targets that proved they did not), at least 2 refreshment areas, a "VIP" relaxation area (that does remind me a bit of one of the rooms in the movie "Animal House"), and even a sticky board area for people to advertise guns they may have for sale (to be sold thru an authorized, read that LEGAL, dealer), or gun clubs, or whatever. And they have SEPARATE ladies-only and men-only sparkling clean restrooms. My wife especially likes that! And those restrooms also are handicap friendly, just like there are specific lanes on each shooting bay that were designed specifically to be wheelchair friendly. When you first visit RISR they ask you to demonstrate safe handling skills of your weapons. But they do so very professionally and respectfully. They show first time shooters what they require and then ask you nicely to repeat what they just showed you. They also require making a copy of your picture ID. Some people have a problem with that. NOT ME! I want them to know who is shooting lethal weapons in their range. And as far as I'm concerned if you don't want them to know who you are ... I don't want you shooting next to me. Goodbye. The well-lit ranges are great for buddies (male and/or female), clean, and family friendly. Yes, FAMILY friendly. I have taken my (now adult) kids and their spouse their many times. And since my son got me into shooting again, it gives him the opportunity to teach his old man a thing or two. As a retired Fortune 10 executive, genuine Rocket Scientist (BS in Aerospace Engineering) with an MBA ... my son really appreciates being in a position where he knows it all rather than vice-versa. I have also seen at least one Bachelor Party there. No pictures of the future mother-in-law could be used as a target. And all sorts of guys bring their wives or girlfriends there too. Sometimes both at the same time (sorry, that was a cheap joke). But any lady shooting there always looks so good there. I enjoy seeing empowered women beat their guys shooting and that happens a lot! Tom Reese (the owner) learned many things that make RISR good because he is a trained firearms instructor ... and he was a Range Marshal at Riverside Magnum Range before he left to start RISR. He puts the best of everything he has learned into making it your best shooting experience and shooting value. Above all, he is also a shooting and gun enthusiast. And when I asked him for permission to mount the camera that took that picture of me above (can you see the bullet leaving the gun ... wow), he put me in the "A" range alone so that if I hit the camera it could not explode over anyone else. I must also tell you that he ONLY allowed me to do that because he had seen me shoot a lot, knew that I was a fairly accurate shot, as well as watch my safety skills. So please don't expect to be able to shoot at your camera. But there are other ranges you should go to if you don't want to show identification, shoot Russian loads, do trap or skeet, rapid shoot (including "double tap"), have less than convenient and clean and separate men/women bathrooms, no safety checks or almost-no Range Officers (other than to remind you to leave after your 2 hours were up). If you've shot a gun before you know the ranges I am talking about ... the ones that say "take that road over there, look for #6" and have fun. Clean shooting lanes that are well-lit, monitored continuously (either by Range Officers or Video), education, meeting rooms, relaxation areas, an INDOOR Archery Range(!), refreshment areas, brag board, rental guns, ammo you can buy (when you run out having too much fun shooting), targets, and always at least 2 friendly guys checking you in ... RISR is the best range I know of it the Inland Empire. So enjoy it. I tried out this place because of a groupon I had boughten thinking they would treat me differently because I am a women but that wasn't the case, not only were these people super cool they welcomed us back and told me about many more events they were having that month and I left feelings great, accomplished and wanting more! Took my girlfriend and I here for our first time ever shooting a gun. The staff was very friendly and welcoming upon walking in. We explained it's our first time and they gave us a 15 minute lesson on how to handle and shoot and went over all safety precautions to make us feel very comfortable. I take new shooters here frequently because it is a healthy learning environment for understanding firearms - engaging, enthusiastic staff with knowledge to back it up. If you have questions or concerns, they help! Some of the local outdoor ranges and clubs are cult-like in their exclusivity and style, but this place is not that at all. That is not to say that an experienced shooter wouldn't enjoy their time here, rather, there is an appeal to a larger, actively learning community. I'd wager that does the broader firearms world some good. At the end of the day, this feels likes a place for sharing and learning, and that's what some of us need. read more

First time going to this range and the guy shooting next to us had a gun that was way too over stimulating for me. I walked out and waited in the lobby. This was my first time at RISR. For my nephew's 18th birthday, my wife and I brought him and two of his friends for their first time shooting. FYI, if you are bringing shooters under 18, at least two parents or guardians over 21 are needed, and at least one adult should be an experienced shooter. As far as the cost, I believe it was $17 a person. Eric assisted our group and was extremely helpful. He provided a thorough safety class, and took extra time and care with each of the teens. He was great in making sure that each shooter was comfortable and understood the range's safety rules. I truly appreciated his help. This indoor range allows long rifles, shotguns, and handguns, but will only rent handguns. I rented either a Glock 17 or 19. Unfortunately, we could not use our own ammo with the rental, and ended up purchasing their 9mm ammo--I believe it was 50 rounds for $18, which wasn't too bad. They also have a nice selection of paper targets (silhouette, bullseye, hostage, zombies, clowns, etc.) for each shooter, as well as eye & ear protection to rent--in case anyone in your party forgets. There was no time limit on the gun rental or how long we could be in our lane, which was great for a group of first-time shooters. The handgun range was well lit and ventilated. The target system was also pretty straight forward, and it was easy to adjust and switch out targets safely. Overall, this was a great first impression and experience. The staff was patient and informative. Because of the current state of affairs we had to wait outside for a lane to become available which is understandable.
