I had several family members help me pull weeds and sweep and clean the reception area because I could not set up without those things being done and the owner was not responding. even now 11 months after my wedding he has yet to return my security deposit. the owners was nothing but unprofessional when working with him. like I said, my wedding was beautiful but honestly I would have chose somewhere else to get married if I would have know the headaches and stress this man was going to cause.

Apparently a bear(s) visited the campground all three Thursday nights we were there (and a few other nights, as well). The bear(s) was interested in the hummingbird feeders and trash bins, but Dave splashed Pine Sol around and that seemed to deter them. On the day we were to leave, we were on track to pull out between 10:00 and 10:30 AM, until I walked around to the street-side of the trailer to remove the chocks and discovered the tire had deflated so much, I could not remove either one. While we were inflating the tire, Dave showed up and started helping, unbidden. As it turned out, he ended up getting his jack, jacking up the trailer, removing the tire, placing it in the bed of the truck and telling us where to go to get the valve stem repaired. He said he'd check on the trailer periodically while we were gone to make sure no one was getting too close to the jack, etc. (He estimated it would be an hour; turned out to be more like 1.5 hours). No sooner had we returned and backed the truck up in front of the trailer, he was already out there to get the tire out of the bed of the truck and put it back on the trailer! When it was all said and done, my husband asked him what we owed him because we had way overstayed our check-out time and this sort of service certainly isn't in his job description, Dave refused anything. That was a lot of work, and we truly appreciate it.

Book a horseback ride, hike up to Treasure Falls, or just sit in an adirondack chair and watch the chipmunks and hummingbirds. This is a great place to bring your family to relax around the campfire in the evening; and during the day go hiking, fishing, do some horseback riding, or sightseeing in the surrounding area. The Hinger family has been running Bruce Spruce Ranch since 1966, so it's a family owned business. I really thought it was incredibly romantic stopping by! We stumbled upon Bruce Spruce Ranch in West Fork Campground. We absolutely enjoyed how hot and humid it was in May of this year and enjoyed interacting with the horses. They are incredibly busy, so it was kind of tricky to reserve a spot. I admired looking at all the horses and their many colors. Back in the Day: The cabins rented for somewhere in the area of $2.00 per night, and reservations were made at least a year in advance. Today, the four Hingers, with the help of other family members, continue operating the guest ranch and making improvements, welcoming some families every year into the fourth generation. It is a great place to bring family to relax, fish, hike, sight-see or go horseback riding.

Although we didn't stay at the hotel, we went to The Springs Resort everyday we were in town. An afternoon soak was just what our muscles needed after spending the day on the slopes. We relaxed, shared stories and laughs while sipping tasty wellness drinks ("shroom shrubs") and cocktails in the healing hot springs. The outstanding service really elevated our experience. Our server, Matthew was exceedingly friendly and attentive. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed--including food and drink, took a few group photos, and even let gave us tips as to what springs were best for watching the sunset. Our server Micaela was also excellent, joking with us and making us feel spoiled! I would recommend visiting The Springs in Pagosa to anyone! As it turned out, even with a full house this property was perfect for all. 6 adults and 5 kids. This property met or exceeded any expectations we may have had. Three showers, two tubs and exceptional closet space. The master closet is the size of a small bedroom, and we were able to organize each child's belongings on separate shelves. Hot water was plentiful, as were all kitchen utensils. The larger family style table was perfect for family dinners. The dishwasher and washer and dryer worked well. And as a bonus there is a second dryer in the garage. So we were able to dry wet snow suits and wet bathing suits without having to track snow in the house. Bedrooms were comfortable and the hot tub was a bonus. Pagosa Springs Paradise is perfect for any family, small or large. We rate this property as exceptional.
