    Burger week: poutine burger
    Lesley M.

You know what? I am a fan of this place. I wasn't sure at first what to expect after reading Yelp reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. It seemed hard to find and possibly a little dive-ish. I went in last week in search of the burger week special - poutine burger. This place is very large and has a great view of the river... hence the name I suppose. it looks like it would have a kick butt patio whenever summer decided to rear it's big beautiful head. I remember thinking, this is a place my parents would like, big booth seating, tons of parking outside, a pub menu and not crowded. My burger was good until my dinner partner starting making comments on the gravy which put me off. it's a little thick and congealed. I'm not sure the poutine burger is a regular menu item, so you don't need to worry about that. It's a seat yourself atmosphere and the service was friendly and fast, my two favourite service qualities!

    The Poutine Burger!

#BurgerWeek2016 #round2 First things first tough spot to find! Hidden away behind another restaurant left us in a dizzy till we spotted it! The Poutine Burger! I must say this definitely proves simple is better! Unlike my first burger week experience.... this was a good burger! Beef Patty! Cooked Medium-Well! Not normal for these parts but actually gave the meet some character! Cheese Curds! So squeaky it reminded me of my college days in the townships of Quebec! Then finished with a thick beef gravy! With good flavour that complemented my protein well! Lesson for burger week so far! Simple is good! Service: 6/10

It was a great pub when it was in business. But I'm pretty sure it closed down a few years ago. Miss it. Bedford needs more pubs!

Fantastic fish & chips for $12! Service was "ok"; friendly but wasn't around when we needed refills, etc.

Their location in Bedford opened last summer ('23) and has been my go-to lunchtime venue ever since. Their entire, stellar line up is available either on tap or in can and of course you can get any of the tap brews in a growler. Lots of parking, a drive through, a pleasant space, including an outdoor patio in season and they even brew small batches on site. Not much in the way of food at the moment, other that snacks, but I mainly come for the beer. And the cider. They do a very English style cloudy cider which is dry as a bone and quite delicious. Bar staff are fun, have good taste in music and there is usually something going on in the evening. A perfect local pub, with an eclectic clientele and for brews, something for everyone.

When questionned about, owner said that they are not required to offer a handicap spot. Handicaped people have the right to enjoy as the able people. I guess collecting some petty money was more important. I will never go to that company and I will never buy a propeller product ever again. Not supporting a company that ONLY cares about the money.

There's a full selection of wines, spirits and liqueurs, but the hook is the large (36) selection of local beers and ciders, advertised on the large board behind the bar. Apparently they rotate the selection on a regular basis, so there will definitely be something for everyone. No food, aside from the standard bar snacks, though they are entirely happy for you to bring stuff in and there are several decent establishments in the plazas either side of Brookline. It's a real community pub too, with a busy programme of music, comedy, quiz nights etc. Definitely need to check it out on a busy evening to get an idea of the vibe and maybe add the fifth star.

You can tell the owners genuinely care about the experience. The space was spotless, and I have to mention the bathrooms because they were exceptionally clean, which always stands out to me. If you're looking for a clean, welcoming local bar in Bedford with a great craft beer selection, friendly service, and a unique vibe, this place is absolutely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back.

I had the house smoked porchetta toast, so good. The menu isn't broad but every item looked really good. Service is friendly and professional, very knowledgeable about the beer list. They offer hard liquor as well and I wish they focused on local fair as well since Nova Scotia is producing some great spirits. Not much to find a fault here, if you like beer!

But I am on a liquid diet, lol. Ambiance - See pictures. This was the last brewery we visited, so my memory has faded, lol. Cool modern decor. 2 floors/stories. Toilets on the bottom floor.
