I took my 12 year old fly fishing for his first time and saw a guy catching fish down the shore from us, I told my son to go ask him what he was using but he was too shy. So I went and asked him and told him it was my son's first time and he beamed up with excitement "oh I'm gonna hook him up!" He grabbed his tackle and walked over to my son, showed him a bunch of flys and started tying them on his line. Throughout the entire process he explained every little detail!! From the fly's, to the cast, to the water current, what to look for, and about 3-5 casts in my son had bites. He taught him how to set a hook and boom, FISH ON! My son was so pumped to catch his first fish on a fly rod. He soaked up all the info he was given and was able to catch fish on his own. Mason from RMA, I can't thank you enough for hooking up my son and getting us on fish. BTW Mason was also teaching his mom and she caught her first fish too. He took the time out of his day to help out a 12 year old and by doing so he created a new angler. Well done Mason and RMA, thank you! Our daughters both just started competitive travel ball/club teams as opposed to just rec fastpitch softball. We went in looking for a bat that we could afford and that would be durable, and the perfect fit for each of our girl's swing styles. He introduced us to all the bats in stock and let us know that they do have a demo bat program to help with our budget for all the other gear we need! Competive level softball gear adds up quick! Devo took his time and made my girls feel confident in each bat they selected in a doable budget for us. Based on my description of needs, he helped me pick out two handfuls of bats for each girl to go try in the batting cage. He was so patient, and kind! He didn't just sell us bats, he gave my girls very valuable feedback on their batting stances, aim, and body mechanics while swinging. Because of Devo the girls were not nervous to keep trying the bats and didn't get bored with the process. He helped them each find different bats in the perfect sizes and weights for each of them! Colorado gifts, Denver broncos, nuggets, and avalanche collectibles. Hunting, fishing, guns, ammo, knives, barbecue supplies, a sportsman's dream come true. Everyone I interacted with was SO nice and helpful and happy to talk about their niche firearms expertise. Today I learned about vintage muzzle loaders, shotguns, hunting rifle calibers, and recoil factors... and nobody was rude or condescending. The first guy I chatted with even helped me with my shooting stance and posture (admittedly terrible due to a disability), and asked each time if he could touch me to help with positioning. It was courteous, very helpful, and felt very respectful. 10000 stars for Lou! I was also very grateful to the rifle/hunting enthusiast who handles the buying (didn't catch his name) and brought so many rifles from storage for me to handle and decide on. I ended up trading a rifle that didn't fit me well for ... two. What can I say, hunting season is coming and I've been slacking! I interacted with at least 6 employees in the Gun Library throughout the interaction. I ended up having them set aside the rifle I wanted to buy, and I trekked home to retrieve the trade in rifle to save a bunch of $$ on taxes - great looking out by the staff! Despite being busy when I returned, they remembered me and had my rifle set aside. I had decided to buy a second one I'd been looking at and they pulled that one and its accessories for me as well. I dropped off my trade for them to look over, went browsing for a while and returned to do paperwork about a half hour later. It took probably another 30-45min to complete the trade in, purchase, and background check forms... yet another reason to buy multiple firearms in a single purchase - huge PITA! Important, of course, but it's time consuming. Cabela's of course has many other departments and I can't speak to those today, but I can very highly recommend the firearms section and the Gun Library in particular - they're one of the largest used firearm dealers in the BassPro family in the country and you can tell that with every interaction. Regarding value, there's so many factors in buying used that it's hard to give a helpful feedback. I am happy with the price of each purchase for their condition; one is new in box and was a good amount off retail. They offer discounts for law enforcement and active military (possibly also veterans?) and have occasional sales.
