The house itself has a good structure with all major components having been replaced in the last year. I had several Contractor's bid on the project. I decided to go with Granite Mountain located at 14027 W Illinois Hwy, New Lenox, IL 60451. I dealt with Mark and Michelle, who are not only knowledgeable, but honest. They captured what I wanted, helped me pick my selections from their showroom, and kept me updated throughout the whole process. In Mark's words, there are many moving parts-that need to come together on time- and he made it happen, having staff here every day for the duration of the project. Each day I was impressed at the progress made, as well as the fact that I was able to live here, due to how clean his staff kept it. Mark timed everything perfectly. The whole house now has beautiful LVT flooring, all new oak woodwork throughout, 6 panel doors, trim, window casings, jams, fireplace mantel - all stained to the color I chose, beautiful granite and quartz countertops in kitchen and bathrooms, all smoke damage cleaned and painted, backsplash tile in the kitchen and beautiful kitchen soft close cabinets. Granite Mountain made what was a huge project, not only fun, but an incredible experience. I highly recommend using Granite Mountain for any home improvement project you have.

The office staff, the person measuring the counter top, and the installers were completely helpful and professional. Cassie in the office was fantastic, very accommodating, and responsive. My old counter tops were black laminate and I was looking to upgrade to a material and color that would lighten and modernize my kitchen. Their pricing was in line, if not a little less expensive, then the other two places from which I obtained quotes and their selection of colors and types of material were expansive. I also purchased the under mount sink to match the counter top coloring and the matching accessories. When I discovered two matching strainer baskets were ordered, instead of one strainer and one flange for the garbage disposal, they quickly refunded me the cost, once I returned it to their office. Definitely be cognitive of the depth of your current sink versus the new under mount sink, if you have a garbage disposal since the electrical of your garbage disposal may need to be rerouted. This is not the company's fault but something I did not think of at the time of purchase. Just so you are aware, it does take approximately 1 month from choosing what you want in the showroom to the final install. This is not an unusual amount of time for this type of project. Just thought some people might like to know this information for planning purposes. I highly recommend The Granite & Marble Depot and would definitely do business with them again!

We have never been so impressed with a company as we are with GMD Surfaces. They called to set the measurement appointment. The man came out right on time. Did his work and even took time to answer my questions. Within two weeks GMD called back to set the installation date. Two men came out and within 35 minutes the countertop was installed, grouted, and all debris removed. The countertop is beautiful and sets off the bathroom perfectly. The big box rep also didn't explain key details like thickness options, polish finishes, or how the flow and pattern of quartz can minimize seams in a large space. Eric, on the other hand, was a true professional. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and suggested we visit Cambria's showroom in Elk Grove Village. When we arrived at the Cambria showroom, rep Jaclyn Cornwall walked us through the store full slabs and showed us the different polish finishes side by side. By the time we left the showroom, we were completely confident in our quartz choice--color name, finish, and thickness. Jaclyn sent us to the Elk Grove Village Daltile showroom to pick out backsplash tiles, which we then brought back to Cambria to compare with the slabs. Seeing the slab and the tile together gave us 100% certainty. Before moving forward, we had requested quotes from several companies, but we kept coming back to Surface Solutions. Trust is important when making a big investment, and we trusted Eric and Samantha. They came through big time. Pricing was fair, turnaround was quick, and from the day we paid until installation, it was only 30 days. The install crew was excellent--removing our old countertops without damaging the cabinets and quickly installing the new quartz and sink (purchased through Surface Solutions). Everything looks fantastic, and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the result. We'll be sharing photos once the backsplash tile is installed and the cabinets are refaced, but for now, we can say with confidence: Surface Solutions is a company we'd recommend without hesitation.
