Great service and chatty here, it was a nice morning. I decided to order the Croque Madam, which is a 10/10! It was so delicious and a nice size too. Then I also ordered the Riverwalk Breakfast Special, which is also another hearty meal for later. The food is pretty good and it wasn't too busy when I walked in. I'm sure it's busy at lunch time. The menus aren't overly filled either, so you won't have a difficult time choosing, but they are only opened weekdays and for breakfast and lunch only. I highly recommend. read more

Stopped in here for the first time as it is just across the street from where I live. Cute little spot inside of a business building along the waterfront. The ladies working were very welcoming and friendly. I ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon. My total came to $16 or so having two proteins. Can't wait to come back to this charming riverside Korean-owned cafe. I can't believe I've walked by so many times unaware that of the delicious food inside. I ordered the beef bulgogi plate today and thoroughly enjoyed it: slightly sweet, juicy bulgogi and steamed vegetables over properly cooked rice. You could tell the meat was marinated properly. So happy to find delicious, authentic Korean food close to home. Can't wait to try the Dwaeji Bulgogi (grilled pork), the Chicken Katsu, the Kimchi Fried Rice, and the Yakisobal. Food was ready very quickly so it's a great spot for lunch. The kind owner is happy to explain the options. Had a good latte as well. I visited Riverwalk Cafe several times during my stay in the south waterfront. It was a short, easy walk from the Residence Inn and had way better breakfast options. The Breakfast Burrito is packed with the goods and was so filling. The chicken apple sausage is great! I highly recommend! Also, the Chocolate Chip Pancakes are wonderful! Mine were generously loaded with chips. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the city! Wonderful location as well, the river is gorgeous to admire on a sunny day. Service was friendly every time. Great service by the owner and her staff. All of the food is homemade and delicious. Breakfast served all day, daily Asian specials, as well as the normal soup, salad and sandwich choices. I work at a the front desk of a nearby hotel and wondered what this little place would be like. WOW! I was pleasantly surprised. For $7.50 I got a huge omelette and they happily substituted a green salad instead of hashbrowns and toast. The salad and the omelette filled up the whole plate. I had the Denver omelette and it was tasty. Usually I like soft eggs but this omelette was nicely browned but not over cooked. I ordered a large brevé latte with an extra third shot. It was 16oz. and cost $4.50. The cup holder as paper but the plate was china and the cutlery was metal. Nice touch. The café is spotless and everyone who works there (the daughter, the owner - mom and the Latina cook) was extremely friendly and accommodating. Nobody blinked an eye when I had weird food and coffee orders. Ha ha. One thing that I happily noticed was that, like in many Asian owned businesses, there are a lot of potted plants in the windows. Usually these plants are kind of scraggly and look like they're just put there for , I don't know, feng shui? But these plants are nicely potted potted and taken care of. Parking can be found on the street but it's metered. Don't get a ticket! One last note: the café is riverfront with a gorgeous, gorgeous view. There is a massive highway bridge overhead but no noise inside. There is pretty seating outside on a terrace. Maybe it's noisier there, but the view and the food will distract you. read more

I came and visited a good friend of mine who currently lives in Beaverton(right next to portland). I ended up staying at Marriott Residence Inn for a week at the SW waterfront in Portland. The Marriott there was actually right next to Riverwalk Cafe. Every morning, I would eat there. And I must say, they did the job right. The food is simply orgasmic and everything that they serve is fresh and 'cooked when ordered'. The service is awesome and near the end of my stay, they provided me with appetizers and fruits on the house! Especially, if anyone is staying at Marriott Residence Inn at the SW waterfront of Portland, you HAVE TO go eat here every morning. I'm serious, the food prices are cheap, and the quality of the food is beyond bomb diggity! Not only that, the set up of the Cafe is SO cute!. Right outside, you can see B-A-U-tiful scenery of Portland's river and the trees surrounding the cafe. I tried everything from the club sandwiches to the cheeseburgers, to the 'Denver Omelet' to the Breakfast Special. Everything tastes SO GOOD! I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. I usually walk by this place when I take a walk in the waterfront. Today is the day, I went in to have a bite. As I walked in, I noticed that the elegant exterior does not match the inside. The decor is a mismatch of potted plants, bottles and figurines. Also, seeing patio tables inside the restaurant was discombobulating. Now, the food was not savory. I ordered a simple turkey club croissant and it came out tasting fishy. It was not visually appealing, the taste was flat. I saw a guy in front of me who took a spoonful of his soup frustratedly shook his head and placed the spoon down. He left with a bowlful of soup he ordered. Well, unfortunately, Despite the beautiful view this place offers, the interior decor and food fell flat. read more

Horrible establishment! I work on the 8th floor, the same building as this cafe. I come downstairs for lunch from time to time and the owner would constantly overcharge me $0.50-0.75 here and there without my knowledge. One time for a small togo container and another time it was because I replaced onion with avocado in my salad. I don't mind paying the extra fee if I knew about it. How about letting me know in advance before the cash register? I ordered albacore tuna salad for $8.25. It's obviously overpriced for canned tuna salad that I can easily put together for less than $3. In addition, my coworkers also received moldy sandwiches. Everything is poorly made with bad ingredients. I don't recommend this establishment at all. read more

Thanks to my Entertainment Coupon Book or we would never have tried Riverwalk Cafe. I had the Chicken Bento lunch special $6.95 and my partner in dine had the Bacon Cheeseburger lunch special. We were both very happy with our own meals and each others. We always share. The chicken Bento included fried pot stickers (2), fried shrimp (2), one egg roll (2 halves), steamed veggies, and my choice of brown or white rice. I chose white rice. There was a substantial amount of chicken and not too much rice. The pot sticker and egg roll fillings were quite good. Pork (I think. I didn't ask.) and cabbage, carrots, and spices. Everything was delicious. Cooked fresh and tasty. In no way did I expect good Asian fare at this little place. But, I got really good Asian fare at this little place. The fried items were fresh fried and done right. Crispy and flavorful. Even the chicken was tasty and of good meat. There was very little fat on my chicken. Which, makes me happy. The cheeseburger came with potato salad and potato chips. The salad was truly great. Neither of us like mustard or vinegar potato salads. This had perfectly cooked potatoes, julienned carrots, mayo (THANK YOU!), and hard-boiled eggs (again THANK YOU!). She rarely likes potato salads and I mean only mine. The burger tasted like it had been grilled over a BBQ. Though, it was prepared on the grill right in front of me. The burger patty did have grill marks. I believe they may actually have precooked it on a grill. The bun was a specialty bun that truly held up to the burger. This burger was a large patty. Not a typical 1/4 frozen thing. I think it was at least a third pound burger. The only downside was that they put a small amount of sauce on the burger. My partner might want to remember to ask for it exactly as she wants it. Mayo only. She is a mayo-a-holic. Riverwalk Cafe's hot chocolate was made the right way, too. Hot milk (NOT water) and real chocolate syrup. Not powder. It truly makes the difference and is well worth it. We will go again. With each other and others when ever possible. read more

Riverwalk Cafe has delicious and fast cheap breakfasts. If you are in a hurry and want to spend around $5 on breakfast, this is the perfect place to go. It is a bit tricky to find of you've never been in before; walk around the large building with signs on the corner until you are facing the river and a small grassy hill. The cafe is just behind the hill, inside the office building. The owner is nice and gives great service. I personally recommend the pancakes and the muffin sandwiches. read more

the portions are the biggest Ive ever seen. Usually the quality of food and taste slacks when you get such large portions however Riverwalk has some of the most delicious lunch items ive ever had. The sandwiches were made fresh with very good vegetables and ingredients and it is also very cheap! When everyone in downtown is charging you an arm and leg to eat lunch, do yourself a favor and walk down to the waterfront to Riverwalk Cafe. IT IS WELL WORTH IT! read more

First day staying down on the waterfront, I needed some lunch and took a walk. This little cafe looked deserted, but I stopped in anyway and perused the menu. After some deliberation I asked whether they had whole grain bread - she said "Yes Yes, we have whole wheat" and took me over to the counter and showed me a loaf of brown crusty bread. I ordered the sandwich of my choice by name (can't recall what it was now) - ham with swiss, mustard, lettuce and tomato - simple enough. The woman shouted over "Ham and swiss". Within seconds the sandwich was done, I paid and hoofed it back to my hotel. Back in my room I unwrapped the sandwich only to find white bread, two paper thin slices of ham, cheddar cheese and mayo. I was pissed. I hoofed back over there and she did some backpedaling - but I got my money back and left. All the while I was channeling Joe Pesci - you remember the line from Lethal Weapon about "getting f---ked at the drive thru" - well I wasn't in the mood for that at all. read more

Very nice. Food all cooked to order right in front of you, ingredients are out in plain view so there's no secret about what exactly goes into your good. Prices are great for the quality. Big selection of chips, drinks, candy and other items, including cookies nearly the size of plates. Staff is friendly and nice. Take out food is wrapped in foil to stay warm. Looking for nearby dining options (staying at the Marriott Residence Inn) we found the Riverwalk Cafe (week of 9/7/13). I suppose our first clue should have been that it was empty, but we went in anyway. Kind of half help yourself and half being served. Ordered breakfast.... simple bacon, eggs, hash-browns and coffee. Eggs were decent. Bacon very dry and thin. Hash-browns like shredded cardboard.... flavorless, dry. Though we would give them a second chance (I know, I know) and went back the next morning. Ordered Buttermilk pancakes and Blueberry pancakes. Actually pretty good, although the bacon was the same as the day before. When paying, the gal told us they never charged us for the coffee and something else and added that to our bill. She then added the bacon to the bill. They did charge us for the coffee and we did not ask for the bacon, it was on the plate. She said she would not charge for the bacon then..... Will never go back. read more
