    Breakfast sandwhich

Went here for a quick bite and overall it was not bad. Service was nice and friendly. They were doing deliveries when we were here which was a bit loud and distracting and they dropped some boxes and knocked our table a bit but they were nice about it. The mocha was good and the orange juice is fresh squeezed apparently but isn't fresh squeezed in / is brought in. The breakfast sandwiches were alright, didn't have much flavor so needed to add sauces they provided to add it in. The egg part was really big but not very flavorful. Overall not a bad spot to chat or grab a drink.

Was craving something sweet, and this was the perfect spot. I got a snickerdoodle cookie and a chamomile tea both were amazing! I definitely want to come back because the breakfast looks so good. Seems like a great spot to study or get work done.

DE-LI-CIOUS. This place is kind of mind blowing in a cold day. I got a sandwich and the butter crust on it was incredible. Super high quality and quick service. Staff is pretty friendly and you should be able to find somewhere to sit!

As others have stated I find it interesting that their main menu sign has no prices and you need to look at the printed menu for prices. I get that times are tough but staff didn't point it out and didn't acknowledge when I mentioned it which comes across as snooty. 2 eggs, protein and salad is 17 bucks which is insane. Breakfast burrito was more affordable and decent. Sticky bun was dry but sweet. Coffee ok

My Avocado Toast with Cherry Tomatoes and Basil

Surprisingly low ratings for the kind of place this Lovejoy Bakers is. As my early morning bite on a chilly 7am in Pearl District was perfected by their Avocado Toast with Cherry Tomatoes and Basil, I must write to up their ratings. I needed to eat with no coffee. After searching for a good place for some healthy food, this place was one of the recommendations on Yelp. As I perused the photos uploaded by the previous diners, I was convinced that this place would be IT!! I was the first customer for the morning as I arrived at 7am sharp. I was warmly greeted (and that is the start I wanted!) The display of all sorts of baked goods were right in front of me which I was compelled to take a photo of while I was paying attention to the lady (who greeted me). Like I already stated, I simply couldn't think of anything else besides the Avocado Toast. There are three ways to enhance your avocado toast: 1) Olive oil and lemon zest, 2) Roasted cherry tomatoes and basil and 3) Bacon and sunny side egg. The lady said all of them are equally good so I went with the middle one: Roasted cherry tomatoes and Basil. This ended up being a really good choice. It's a GOOD size/portion for the price. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and delicious. They didn't overly season the avocado. To be frank, I felt that I could use a little more touch of salt but since I hate salty foods more than typos (lol!) , I went as is (don't you hate the feeling of being thirsty after eating something with noticeable amount of salt? Yuck!) The shop is quite roomy with ample amount of tables/chairs (both high top seatings and low top tables.) Decors on wall are simply just right to create the perfect ambiance for the type of coffee shop it is. This is definitely a place for some healthy food especially if you want to avoid fast food places. It's centrally located in Portland's Pearl District, walkable from other places within. Enjoyed it!

    Coffee And Smashed Chickpea Sandwich

Came to get a light lunch at this bakery in the Pearl District. It certainly wasn't the best one we had been to, even in that week alone, but it has some good things about it. Lovejoy gets its name from the street it's located on. Has a lot of what to expect. There's coffee, cookies, pastries and more. Basically it's more like a bakery than a restaurant, but there's a few tables inside. It's got many customers who get things to go so they have counter service. The orders are placed at the counter, and if eating here they bring the stuff to you. Lots of breads and pastries in the display case. They also have the full menu. It's about $3 for coffee. There's a few non dairy milk options. Basic. It's about $10 for a sandwich. Each of us got the Smashed Chickpea. This has chickpeas, pickled onions, and roasted red peppers. Happens to be the main vegetarian choice. This was good but for sure wasn't anything fantastic. For a local bakery it's okay but it could be a lot better. It's located on NW Lovejoy Street between 10th and 11th. The menu includes a few things for vegans and vegetarians.

Great food amazing service and the pumpkin chia mocha was amazing definitely coming back!! :) 10/10 recommend

Decent coffee shop, some seating (inside and out) and common pastries. Could be good to work here or meet someone from a chat. Grabbed a few lattes and an almond croissant. The croissant wasn't super fresh and I wish I would have asked them to warm it up at least. Okay spot for a AM coffee.

    Breakfast burrito

This would be a perfect spot to come and read, work, or just relax. The windows let in so much light. Solid, very filling burrito. The burrito is definitely mostly potatoes, which makes it feel very heavy on the stomach. It was overall very salty, which is what I happened to be craving at the moment but for someone else might be a bit too much. A little on the pricey end, but that can be expected of the area.

The food was surprisingly delicious and great price! Everything we ordered taste good, big portion with real ingredients. The chai tea was really good, I can taste the chai really worth the price. Nice friendly service, cozy open environment with beautiful view of the city street. Would love to come back again!

Espresso, Latte, Avocado Toast ($8.25), Breakfast Burrito ($9.95)
    Wendi K.

Cozy cafe located in Pearl District. Great drinks, a beautiful pastry display, and fresh sandwiches / breakfasts. Avocado Toast ($8.25) - fresh and lemony, on hearty seeded sourdough. Just wish the bread had been toasted and that there was more avocado. Cardamon (+.75) Latte with Oat Milk - the latte art was so beautiful and the micro foam was perfect - I just do wish the cardamon flavor was stronger. Order at the counter and they bring food out to you.

Everything we ordered was gorgeous and whimsical in presentation, but of course that would mean little without the flavors to back it all up, which it had in spades. The Thai steak tartare tostadas were incredibly balanced, with brightness and herbaceous notes from the vegetables, herbs, and sauce, great punch from the Thai spices, richness from the tartare, and a nice snap and slight nuttiness from the tapioca crisps cradling everything underneath. The foie gras dumplings were simply divine. I expected them to be rich and dense, but they were like little pillows, with a savory filling and a perfect balance of smoked leek broth, crispy fried leeks, and a caramelized shallot jam that ended up being the surprise star of the dish for me. Then came the main event, the Duck Stack, which I can only describe as a McGriddle on steroids (in the best possible way!). Somehow it all worked beautifully, with the rich duck gravy, fluffy pancakes drenched in syrup, spiced onions, and a fried duck egg tying everything together in perfect harmony. It was one of those dishes that sounds wild on paper but is totally brilliant on the plate and in your mouth. The garlic fries were spicy in the best way, perfectly crisp, and served steaming hot. The Duck Stack (pancakes covered with duck gravy, onions, and a duck egg) sounded a bit odd to me (and probably many others). When I asked the server if it was good, they told me that people travel to the restaurant specifically for that dish. I'm glad I tried it. Again, very unique with a well balanced spice profile paired with the delicious undertones of a hot pancake. I know I would have never thought of that, doesn't sound like it should work, but....it worked! Service was great, atmosphere was a bit loud with a band playing next door, it was a bit overwhelming, plus a random dude walked into the restaurant and a server lit his joint for him as a courtesy(?)...stunk the place up for a few minutes, but as I thought about it, I decided that was about the most "Portland" thing I had seen all week on my trip :) I'll be going back for sure, I would love to taste through that entire menu. This was an incredible introduction to the Portland food scene, delivering some of the best…read moresandwiches I've ever had. Between the genuinely friendly hospitality and the flavor combinations, this spot hits it out of the park and is a must for sandwich lovers. Griddled Mortadella (5/5): An incredibly delicious sandwich that perfectly balances rich, salty, and savory flavors. It comes loaded with a generous portion of grilled mortadella and melted provolone cheese, perfectly moistened with a tangy mustard aioli. The fresh lettuce and bell peppers added a satisfying crunch to every bite. Chefwich - K-Town Steak Sandwich (5/5): A limited-time creation packed into a banh mi roll. It had a generous portion of perfectly tender and sweet bulgogi steak that pairs with their melted jack cheese. The gochujang mayo sauce had a subtle and sweet heat, while the fresh kimchi added crunch and slight acidity to balance the rich meat. Elote Tater Tots (5/5): Definitely a creative side dish. The tots were perfectly fried and topped elote style with cotija cheese, pairing well with the smoky chipotle mayo on the side. Logistics Tip: Street parking is surprisingly easy to find in the surrounding area, even on a busy weekend evening. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If you're a first-timer, don't hesitate to ask the staff for suggestions, as they're exceptionally warm, welcoming, and passionate about the menu.

I've only been to the Lardo in PDX (is it still there?), so I felt like I needed to give the brick…read moreand mortar a chance because, let's face it, the one in PDX is meh. We walked down here on a beautiful day after wedding deletes shopping, so spirits were high. Located on a busy corner, but with plenty of outdoor seating, Lardo is a good place to have lunch on a Saturday. I have nothing to say about the parking sitch. My daughter and I shared the Willamette Reuben and her friend ordered the Italian Flag. We shared the Lardo fries. Oh man, the Reuben was perfection! The flavor of the meat and everything on the sandwich, from texture to flavor--chef's kiss! We heard that the Italian Flag was excellent too. Definitely, you can share a sandwich especially if you're having fries. The fries were delicious--crispy and flavorful on the outside, perfectly hot and mushy on the inside. Yum!
