Timbavati Wildlife Park - The only animal that should be in a zoo -- a Statue of a frog!!!

The general admission is different from the train ride it's an additional fee but the train ride is worth it because you go to an enclosure and the llamas would just go near you so you can feed them so make sure you have carrots or feeds when you go into the train ride. Also after the train ride you can go into the parakeet section and you will pass by the nursery where the animal encounters are at and there are also a bunch of goats that you can feed so if you want to make sure that you still have some carrots for them. You can easily spend all your day here but I have to use probably enough depending on how crowded the place is. There were also some camels and giraffes to feed although I wasn't lucky to catch the giraffe outside. Also saw some Camel rides and some pony rides. I will definitely be coming back in for sure next time I will try the animal encounters specifically the sloth encounter in the red panda encounter seems interesting. Happy exploring!

Feeding the giraffe was really fun…read more Of course always going to zoos or other places where wildlife are in cages is always a little uncomfortable. I do feel like the animals were well taken care of, none of them showed any signs of distress. It is right off a busy road. It is pretty spendy but then once you consider that they have to take care of the animals which can't be cheap I find it more understandable that it costs so much. I feel like places like these should be located off the main roads.

Wonderful State Park! Memorable experience! Would certainly plan to return!…read more Our big annual camping trip with the family recently took us to Mirror Lake, a spot that was new to all of us. It's an easy distance from where we live in Milwaukee, as it's in close proximity to the Wisconsin Dells. That said, even though we were deep in the woods camping, there was plenty of civilization close by should we have needed to restock on anything. Since we had quite a big group, we booked a double-site and boy did we luck out. I think we had the largest double that was available. It fit two large RV/campers and five tents, leaving ample room for tons of chairs around the fire pit and the big picnic tables provided. Oh and they are *electric campsites* which can be hard to find! No water hook up though. Not too far down from our site was the big shower houses/bathrooms. And let me just say, these are NICE! Like very nice. And very clean. Probably the best campsite bathrooms I've ever seen. I feel as though the building was very new / freshly redone. Other pros: plenty of lake activities (we rented both kayaks and pontoon boats), great walking paths (freshly laid wood chips and clear signage), lakeside beaches, and various playgrounds for the kiddos. Oh and fun planned experiences by the park - it was "Smokey Bear's birthday" when we were there and they had a firetruck on-site, water games, bday treats, prizes, and a meet and greet with the bear himself. A hit with our kids. Even if you're not camping, this state park would be wonderful for a day trip!

Most of the time when we are camping at a state park, we are going there to enjoy the park. But in this situation we really just needed a cheap place to sleep that was super close to the Dells. So do I rate it in comparison to other state parks? Or do I rate it based on what we were looking for? I think it would be best to compare it to other state parks so keep that in mind when reading. Sites: The sites were nice and big and well kept, I also thought they were very private. The biggest problem with some of the sites is the proximity to the expressway. We were at site 80 and could literally see the headlights of cars at night through the trees. So as you can imagine it was loud, we got used to it but it did impact the relaxing aspect of the trip. We did notice that when we walked through the campground that the further you got from the highway the sound dropped significantly. Things To Do: This is where this park takes a major ding. There is just nothing to do here. No water to play in and really only one hiking trail. Now that being said, the one hiking trail is a nice one. But there is just the one. Facility: The facilities were nice, old but well taken care of. Overall: I know I only gave it 3 stars because of the reasons I states earlier. Now all of that being said, I would stay here again in a heart beat. Knowing what I know now, had I picked a site further away from the highway it would have been a lot more relaxing. And if you are just looking for a cheap place to sleep while visiting the Dells it is in a great location and it as a beautiful park with big mature trees and some cool rock formations. But as far as finding things to do, there is really nothing to do at this park.

Like shooting fish in a barrel…read more.. Like many attractions at Wisconsin Dells, this place is a scam. They charge by the inch and you cannot throw back fish ($20 / fish penalty). There are several ponds (size not much larger than backyard swimming pools). Each include different sizes or types of fish; the medium fish are 10-12 inches, large are 13-15 1/2 inches and the jumbo go up to 24". The fish are primarily rainbow and golden trout and cost about $1 / inch (cleaned and catching a variety of fish). This means that you will probably spend around $15 / fish (if you catch ten or more you can grab a $2 t-shirt). I had a couple of these fish on a dinner plate. They're tasty, but not worthy of the $15 / fish price tag. To be fair, the service explains these prices up front, but not in real numbers which may confuse and anger customers. It's a silly and unethical business practice that's abominable. At this price, dress up and go to a great seafood restaurant. You will not be blood-splattered, smell fishy and anger your spouse by the amount you've wasted on fishing without sport.

They also REFUSED to let me off the horse after it kicked another horse and refused to slow down. They overcharge you for a "3.1% service fee" but I was charged $29 on a $70 bill making it $99. And when I tell you cages were full of horse shit, the horses were so dirty my hand was BLACK after touching them for two minutes. When I asked to get off she acted like I was tripping even though my horse was RAMMING into her horse from behind.
