I ordered the scallops, after reading bad reviews on here, about the crab cakes I wanted. My meal was priced at $21.99. I was more than a little surprised to see three (3) scallops on my plate. This is a super casual, on the River floating bar/ restaurant. The food is good for this kind of place. They do not accept reservations accept for large parties. You may wait 30 minutes or longer on the weekend. It's not much fun to watch large parties be sat while you are waiting. I'd suggest going to a restaurant that accepts reservations for everyone. I came upon this spot from business travels. It was right next to the hotel and not a lot going on at the time I went in. It was not easy to find at first as I didn't realize it was actually on the water. Even then I had to walk around to find the spot. Key is go through the big gateway (duh on my part) It was an interesting idea but I will have to say the river didn't quite have the beach feel they were going for. The water was dark and murky with trash. It wasn't quite the atmosphere I think they were trying to create, but A for effort. Staff was friendly. Food was ok. I had fish and chips. I guess I am also partial to being inside while I eat. Just a preference. I think if I were meeting friends at night for drinks this would be a fun hang out for beers and hanging out after a long day or before heading over to the casino. read more

Permanently moored. on the Ohio River with docking for boats. A bit noisy where we sat due to a big fan continuously running. The fish and chips were average and a bit greasy. My husband's hamburger was very good and we both loved their fries. You can't beat the ambiance! We watched a barge roll by. Parking garage on the hill and you walk down. The walk back up the hill after indulging in food and drink is rough. We saw a golf cart right outside the restaurant. We tried this place for my birthday this weekend. The outdoor ambiance is nice and there are plenty of seafood (and non-seafood) options to choose from. It's not fancy, but our food was good and fresh. We enjoyed sitting outside by the river, too. We were looking for a good place on the west side of Cincinnati and found this place in Lawrenceburg on Yelp. The location for the restaurant is sitting on the river and that is what we were looking for to celebrate a good week at work for both of us. Unfortunately that is when things took a turn for the worse starting with the hostess at the front counter. We asked to sit at one of the tables by the water, the hostess picked up two menus and walked away and put them on the table the farthest away from the water??? Our waitress was awesome waited on us right away and brought us our drinks and appetizers. We asked if we could move to the table over by the water, she said no problem so we moved. From that point forward you could see we were getting the stink eye from the hostess (by the way we figured out by a couple google searches that the hostess is the owner, we think) We had the cream cheese stuffed fried pepper and loved them. We shared the shrimp, the wife said that they were overcooked, not sure they tasted fine to me. We were planning on sitting there for a while being that we had nothing else to do but that we were getting pointed at by said hostess we decided to give the rest of out money to a place that wanted our business. I am not sure what the whole context of this was but I noticed that all the young waitresses had the same t shirts on, not sure why only the young ones, but I noticed on the back of the shirts they said "the wet spot" ... why only the young ones with that shirt and what is the point of that. Seems like it could have a couple different connotations that might be a little odd for a place that is not just an adult bar. read more

My wife and 10byear old son went here the other day. We got the shrimp basket as an app. It was good as good as fried shrimp can be. My wife and I nursing a hangover went with bloody marry mine was spicy exaclty the way I asked for it. My wife got hers mild and she said it was very good. My son ordered a burger and fries from the kids menu. He said it was great and he considers himself a burger coneseur. My wife got the fish n chips. She said the fish was outstanding not to greasy and flacky. I went with the fish sandwich again I enjoyed it. Nothing about the meal.was bad. My only regret is I did to much fried food. Staff was friendly and helpful. We sat outside right on the river. My son loved the boats.going by and enjoyed watching them dock in too. The pros - Food taste good. Plenty of out door seating. They have a outdoor bar that faces away from the river but the large mirror allows you to see the water behind you. I like the outdoor bar and the seating by it. The Cons- Worst parking ever. Best to park at the garage and wait for a golf cart ride down. Limited parking by the loading ramp. While it is nice to sit in the open are shade is limited. And the open area usually has families. I would prefer that you don't have to walk through the family area to go to the bar seating. . This place closes down during the winter. Overall it an ok place, with the view of the day of the Ohio River as you'll never know what will float by while your dining or drinking. read more

It was recommended that I try this place, so tonight I did. I ordered the special-a ribeye steak with baked potato, green beans and a salad. I ordered my steak medium. Our appetizers, potato balls,and a Bavarian soft pretzel were very good! Our meals came out and that is where the disappointment came in. My steak was more well done, and tough. The baked potato was still hard, and not warm enough to melt the butter. The salad consisted of lettuce, 1piece of cucumber, a tablespoon of cheese and 3/4 croutons-kind of a sad salad. My daughter ordered the sweet potato fries with her meal, they gave her a baked potato. She brought it to the waitresses attention and the brought her the fries, but not the dipping sauce. Had to wait on that to be brought to us. When asked if everything was ok by the waitress I told her no, she agreed the steak was overcooked, and that the potato wasn't right. She asked if I wanted something else, or would I prefer for it to be taken off the bill. I chose to send it back and to have it removed off my tab. Sadly they charged me 6.00 for the sub par salad. As boaters we are thrilled to have a restaurant with a dock. However after multiple visits we continue to be disappointed. The quality and portions of food are severely lacking for the price. At our visit today we had multiple upcharges, including $1 to add cheese to a kids meal burger and $4 to sub onion rings for fries - both of which were quite high for the product received. The wraps were nearly all lettuce, no meat, and the fish tacos were basically empty empty tortillas with lettuce. Sadly we will have to find a new place to have lunch or dinner by boat read more

Come for the whole experience: view, service and food. Food listed last for a reason - fresh, but standard. Sweet potato fries were the most flavorful part of the dinner. Shrimp steaming hot, trapped in a crisp coconut shell (but I kept waiting for a stronger burst of flavor). Very attentive and friendly service, including discrete lid on the right child's drink and fast delivery on a food envy whale: "But I want a shrimp cocktail too-o-o!" (Thank you, Megan!). The surprise came when I felt the earth rocking and thought: "I must have overheated in the mud race today. A couple of sips of Fat Tire should not feel that way". I've been here two times at each time I had a great experience. The first time I came via automotive vehicle on land. We parked high on top of the bank and walked down over the aqua green bridge over to the restaurant. The second time I came, I showed up on a boat! Now this is how all the cool kids do it. Make sure you show up early, either lunch or dinner, because the dock will get busy/full with parked boats. It was one of the coolest if not the coolest way I've ever showed up to a restaurant. The River Watch is located on the Ohio River. It floats above the water and you can feel the restaurant move. They have a very good lunch and dinner menu with a nice selection of adult beverages. I have gotten two different fish dishes while I was here, the catfish and the fish and chips. Both items are hardy and will definitely hit the spot. The service is great as well and everyone greets you with a smile. One of our draft beers seemed to be skunked and they quickly switched it out with a bottle no charge. It was a calm night on the Ohio River as we watched 2 barges float between power plants, logs speed by and ducks consume Cheerios from the vending machine during our dining experience. The waitress and very friendly and the beer was cold. I ordered the Maryland crab cakes. They came with cocktail sauce to enhance the dryness of the cake. The flavors did not mesh well together at all. The atmosphere at River Watch is very junky and tired. Honestly, I come to the 'Burg' a lot and have never tried this place. I know it's gotten just okay reviews so maybe that's why. The restaurant is located right in front of the Double Tree hotel, very convenient if you are staying here. The have lots of seafood dishes and other items to chose from. I would recommend the blackened Mahi Mahi, it was delicious! Also, not a bad spot to sit and relax and watch the sunset as boats go by. I would come back for another dinner. read more

I went here today for the 1st time for Lunch. It was a nice day & pretty view sitting outside by the water. I got some great pics of the surrounding scenery & it had some friendly ducks :) I ordered the Fish Sandwich & it was fresh & tasty. The Fries were also good. Pretty good lunch food wise. Our waitress was nice but a bit forgetful :( Overall it was a nice experience & I would return here. Side note: Parking is in a nearby garage. We've eaten here several times. My kids love the ambiance, and the food has always been fine--until the last time we went... My wife ordered the chicken planks basket to share with my 3-yr-old. When she cut into the centers of the chicken tenders, they were very visibly undercooked. The waitress was extremely apologetic, and she said she would have the kitchen remake the chicken and also take the meal off our bill. We were happy with that solution. Our waitress came back a few minutes later and apologized because the owner said she can't take the meal off our bill. The best they could do is take 10% off our meal. We were irritated, but let it slide. We waited so long for the chicken to come back out that everyone else at the table had finished eating. We asked for the bill and a box so we could eat the chicken later. When we got the bill, all they took off was 10% off JUST MY WIFE'S MEAL...AFTER TAX. It only took a dollar and some change off the total bill...not even enough to cover the cost of her (flat) soda. Not only that, when we did receive the new chicken, there was one piece that was visibly cut in half and refried. The waitress was wonderful, but management was horrible to make her go back on her word. And taking a dollar and some change off the bill after serving RAW chicken to a pregnant woman and small child hardly seems like great customers service. We will not be returning. There are MANY great options in Lawrenceburg other than this establishment. I recommend going elsewhere. read more
