Kyle was responsive, patient, and incredibly helpful when it came to choosing the right floors, plus he secured us a discount on the materials. Haider and his team were professional, thorough, and finished the work on time. They were careful, respectful, and clearly took pride in their work. What really stood out was the extra care they took to repair cracks and level the cement foundation before installation. It made a huge difference in how straight and solid the new floors feel. Highly recommend.

I contacted Almimar Renovations and Kyle responded promptly. The same day in the afternoon Hayder from Almimar came to my apartment in New Westminster to make an appraisal of the work. He was very kind and informative of all aspects to be covered. The estimate surprised me in the best way as it considerably less than other proposals I received, with better quality laminate. Almimar did an outstanding job at my place and it now looks brand new! Kyle keep me informed all steps of the way and Hayder was very dedicated to his work, going always the extra mile to please me. They finished the work with many extras on time and budget, the result speaks for itself, I will recommend Almimar to anybody that needs great and professional work in their homes.

Having done a lot of our own research as to the different types of flooring available to us, our next step was whether retailers would have what we liked. We found many did not have the selection to give us more choice. We needed to find a good retailer who has good customer service and has staff who do excellent installation because we were not going to do it ourselves. At one big box retailer we were not too impressed by their impersonal sales staff, because they provided us with limited information on what would be involved to have the existing carpet removed and have the underlay and the new floor installed. A good friend had used Metrotown Floors and Interiors before and had referred us to contact them with our flooring project. So we made some time to contact them and to go visit their showroom. The showroom had a very good selection of all types of good to high quality flooring. The customer service representative Al Eris welcomed us as we came through the door. He asked us what was our plan and what needed to be done. Then, he made a home visit to measure the work space and bring up any concerns that needed to be addressed. For example, what baseboards could be used that would go best with the current door frames, trimming of the doors, and to consider that we may need to level the underground floor before installing the underlay and the new flooring. We were impressed by Al's professionalism and his attention to detail. So impressed that we chose to go with Metrotown Floors. Once we chose the underlay and flooring we wanted Al was quick to give us samples of the product, and he advised us of the cost estimate within a reasonable amount of time. He put the time and effort into understanding our needs and he was there for us before, during, and even after our job was completed. Reaching out to us to see if we had any concerns with the installation and if we are satisfied with his customer service and the hard working staff who did the installation. As such, it goes without saying that we would not hesitate to recommend Metrotown Floors and Interiors to all our family and friends. Sincerely, Kenneth and Nancy

Afterwards we had some of the plant based strawberry ice cream and frozen yogurt for dessert. I did a search on Google and discovered that the gravy for IKEA's poutine is vegetarian so I might try ordering the poutine myself next time. Although...truth be told, it wasn't the most appetizing looking gravy so...maybe not. Cilantro...my mortal enemy. There was cilantro in the couscous that came with my falafel balls. the falafel balls were just OK. Nothing to write home about. The couscous probably would have been decent if there hadn't been any cilantro in it. Uggghhh...why would anyone put cilantro in couscous? Why would anyone put cilantro in anything for that matter? (That second question is coming from the cilantro hater in me) The frozen yogurt and plant based ice cream were the highlights in my opinion. Daughter was satisfied with her poutine though and I heard no complaints about the garlic bread so...OK rating but if I were judging on my own personal meal (which I really really didn't like because of the cilantro), this would be a lower rating.

Visited Ikea in-store this week and immediately noticed that all of the reviews online saying there…read morehas been a dramatic decline in quality could not be more true. Wish I had done that before trying to shop online, which led to Ikea charging me $947.92 for an order they claim never existed despite having sent me a confirmation email and processing the charge on my card. I will certainly update this review if the issue is ever resolved, but the prospects of that look bleak. Ikea has repeatedly indicated that they are unable to help, and that "it is possible for a transaction to be missed by the system due to a technical issue", which is absurd, but what's worse was their pathetic responses and inability to keep track of the cases supposedly created to investigate it. I was repeatedly assured that a case had been opened, only for the next representative to tell me it had been lost to the same black hole as my order. Poof Details below. On June 12th, I placed an order through the IKEA iOS app, received a confirmation email, and was charged $947.92. However, the order never appeared in my account and could not be tracked using the order# provided in the confirmation email. I was stressed about this and my move to a new and unfurnished home, so I spent hours of trying to contact Ikea only to have a representative finally grace me with their presence to advise that IKEA had no record of the order despite the confirmation email and processed charge. They said that they would open a case about it and it would be looked into within 24-48 hours. Spoiler, that did not happen. On June 13th, I reached out because I had noticed the charge had been processed. They offered to open a case, to which I let them know that a case had been created by the agent I had chatted with the previous day. I was then informed that a case had not been created, and that they would create one.. I asked for a confirmation email and was told they can't provide that, and I can sure see why because over the following week, I spent hours and hours and hours repeating this exact process on loop, reaching out for an update only to be to repeating all of the same information over and over again, and multiple representatives assured me that cases had been created, only for the subsequent representatives to claim they could not locate those cases. Not a single one of the case numbers provided to me were ever traceable through IKEA's system at any point. June 14th. No update. June 15th. My move-in date. The charge is still on my card. I reach out to Ikea and go through the same loop of asking for an update on my case and being told that there isn't a case but that they would create one. And of course, the order still doesn't show up when I try tracking it. June 16th was my scheduled delivery date. I reach out to Ikea, same loop as above. June 17th, I begin the dispute and chargeback process with Amex and request them to open a fraud investigation. On June 18th, I reached out for an update, and like clockwork, the IKEA representative said "it happens rarely, but it is possible for a transaction to be missed by the system due to a technical issue.", right.. except the transaction wasn't missed, I was charged. I've since found several people online referencing having experienced this exact situation with Ikea and it never being resolved by them. What's particularly ironic is that I visited the IKEA store in Richmond this week and saw that the countless reviews describing a mammoth dip in quality were not exaggerating whatsoever, drop-shipped particleboard galore. So that's another reason to never shop online at Ikea, or shop at Ikea at all. As of June 19th, IKEA has made no meaningful effort to correct this.
