I asked Yelp for a recommendation and Oahu Windows and Doors contacted me very quickly. They said they would send Nick, "our repair guy," out to take a look and give me an estimate on a repair. Nick arrived exactly at the appointed time, took a quick look (and listen) at my door and diagnosed the problem in a minute or two. Then, since the problem was a seal on the door, asked me if I simply wanted him to remove the seal to stop the sound, and gave me the pros and cons of doing so. I said yes and he removed the seal and put things back together. He gave me some tips on what to use to lubricate the door, as well as--if I ever wanted to replace the door--what I should look for and how to save money. Nick was knowledgeable, personable and effective in solving my problem. I highly recommend Oahu Windows and Doors.

Preston prepared our quote within 24 hours, and the pricing was very fair & reasonable. We needed the door replaced within 4 weeks in preparation for guests, but Preston was able to schedule us within 2 weeks of accepting the quote. Installation day: Preston arrived 10 mins early to set up, and work was handled by Preston, Nick O., and a 3rd worker I didn't get the name of (sorry). All 3 were very professional and friendly. They were also all very patient and nice with our dog who kept barking at them. The doorframe they were working with is nonstandard size and uneven, but they successfully fit a new door without issues and within the schedule. They were self-sufficient and didn't need to ask me many questions or need my help with anything, which made the day really easy for me. The door looks great, fits perfectly, and is super smooth. The next day, they called to offer to fabricate the screens for the project to save my friend time and told me to ask him and get back to them. After a couple of days, I realized that my friend was not going to follow through, so I called Screens and Things back to ask if they could do the job, and they cheerfully reinstated the contract and completed the job. The installers did a superb job -- looks great and they completed everything quickly.

The customer service was good throughout the process, and communication was clear. Since the glass had to be custom ordered from the mainland, the turnaround time of about a month was understandable. The price was also on the higher side at $1k, but I accepted that given the custom nature of the job. However, for what I paid, I expected a higher level of workmanship. Unfortunately, the final result did not meet those expectations. The quality of the work--especially the overall finish of the door--was disappointing. In my opinion, when a company completes a job like this, the area should look the same as it did before (or at least close to it), just with the repaired glass. That wasn't the case here. Maybe expectations can vary, but for me, the outcome didn't reflect the level of quality a reasonable customer would expect at this price point. Based on my experience, I can't say I'm satisfied with the final result. Now I need to find someone to fix what they did to the door.

I bought an above tank basking platform for my 75 gallon turtle tank, and I needed a section cut out of the glass and platform to be able to fit my filter hoses. I send him a quick video asking me if he could help with another specific project, and he did EXACTLY what I needed, and went above and beyond! He even cut the screen top I needed to be able to fit my hoses through my 40 gallon. He does custom glass cutting and creations, and he was there for me when I needed him.
