It was a simple swap nothing from the suspension needed to be removed, so I am perplexed about the inflated labor cost. I would strongly advise anyone with a classic vehicle to avoid this shop at all "cost" I received a call from Steve explaing the high labor cost to do the oil-pan swap and in the beginning he did inform me that his labor cost books did not go back that far for a 53 year old vehicle so in all fairness I googled the process of replacing said oil-pan and found out that the motor did need to be raised to allow room to make the swap. Steve did explain this to me but when I said that was his opinion boy did his demeanor change and as others have commented he did get rude. so I am amending my review to be fair to the shop; but I still would not recomend this shop for classic car repair. It is sad that it is very difficult to find a reputable repair shop in Springfield for classic cars.

A telephone call came thru and I needed to ask about an alignment. I waited. After she hung up I asked about a alignment and balance- and she snipped and said "It HAS to be scheduled!! Its 80.00) I said OK and she walked away. I waited by the window again to go ahead and help my mother in law actually schedule the alignment as she was in the restroom at the time. I saw her walk to the back office annoyed for some reason (probably to complain to the guy in back office- blue shirt and one with grey sweatshit on)- who walked thru mumbling something like "it has to be scheduled.." (Note: We all already knew that and simply stood there to schedule it!) owner, staff and front desk lady must not have liked that I was waiting at window to schedule and started yelling at me! (My mother in law and I were extremely shocked) and advised her I was jot being pushy and just asking to schedule an alignment for my mother in law). We both ended up sitting down after this traumatic behavior and customer service. Sat there a while and then the front desk lady brough a book over and asked my mother in law to schedule alignment. It was all very orchestrated, rude and ridiculous but understand things get tense at times. As someone who has actually worked in a tire/muffler and oil change shop as a front desk scheduler, and receptionist/check in person I would have NEVER behaved like that to ANYONE (nor would have the owner/staff encouraged it all). - was the perception. Maybe scheduling, staffing or time mgt is an issue at this location but it was very unprofessional and rude and NOONE including ME or my mother in law should have been treated that way. Ridiculous especially for a small town where everyone clearly is related to everyone or knows people.

Jacob found a reasonably priced tire for us and it was ready right before closing. As we started to get into the vehicle, Jacob and another tech ran from the store and got our attention. They had noticed that something was wrong when the tire was back on the ground. It was crooked. We received some suggestions for a repair shop as well as cold water. We made arrangements for a Lyft driver and hotel. We returned the next morning and the tow truck driver was able to coordinate with Discount Tire employees to reload our vehicle. Shoutout to Assistant Manager Jacob and the technician who kept us safe and helped locate repair shop options.
