Sam's club needs to listen to customers' complaints regarding their choice of shipping companies. Fedex is the worst shipping company in the US. Their carriers don't deliver to the correct address, and when they do the package is often damaged. Complaints directed to Fedex go without any kind of QC/QA, bc they're a multi-billion dollar company & 'to hell with the customers'. Replacement product is often also delivered in the same manner. I've cancelled my club membership mainly bc Sam's doesn't give me a choice in shipping service, even though I'm paying for it. Too bad, bc I really like some of their Member's Mark products, but I don't have a club within a reasonable driving distance, and the cost of membership wouldn't be cost effective. read more

I originally rated this Decatur store higher primarily because of the gas station and the competition it brought to the monopolistic price fixing stations of the area. Nearly every other experience with Sams Club has been majorly disappointing however. The store itself seems to be poorly managed. The food court is an absolute joke, a couple of stale slices of plain pizza and weak hot dogs, when you can find it actually staffed and open during club hours. Nearly every time you check out there you have a line of full carts and a single friendly, but way over burdened receipt checker holding you hostage from exiting until she can verify your receipt and items you may be stealing. Costco also has the obligatory receipt screening but they manage the lines and service the customers. This is something this Decatur store refuses to do consistently. The goofy Sams Club tries to up-sell you to a premium member ship for the pleasure of being queued up like cattle waiting to be scrutinized. The checkout up-sells you EVERY DAMN TIME. WONT TAKE NO THANK YOU FOR AN ANSWER. The store is absent a pharmacy and every other Sams Club offering. The meat cases are nearly empty every day. You can't find USDA Prime beef there, they offer "Members Prime" instead seemingly trying to fool you into thinking you are getting better for your money when you are not. This seems downright deceptive to me. Costco puts this place to absolute shame and even though the closest one is 45 miles away, I maintain my membership there where you get real USDA Prime beef for the drive and all the other wonderful deals Kirkland brand negotiates for its Costco members. No more Sams for me. I cant justify two memberships and I like Costco even though its a drive once a month. Sams actually annoys me. So it goes by-by. read more

For a membership store, it'd be nice if they actually enforced wearing masks. Honestly there's not a lot of benefit to shopping here unless you need bulk, otherwise is about as painful as shopping at Walmart read more

Wonderful staff! They are all helpful and friendly! The manager Rob runs that place like a navy ship! If its not done right, he will get it done right! And Anthonia is so nice and cheery. I love chatting with her, she can tell me pretty much anything about the store. The bakery is the best in town! There are always carts available, and they even wipe the handles with disinfectant to make them nice and sanitary for the next member. Yearly membership is very affordable, i only paid $35 for a year. And you get your moneys worth on just about everything in the store. That Café is outstanding with HUGE all beef hot dogs, HUGE pizza slices, and ice cream. The Club can even give you the iphone 13 for free with unlimited everything at great rates! I love the place! 21-year member. Sam's is all over the map as far as value and selection. A lot of offerings seem inexplicably high-priced, such as some produce and motor oil, but good deals for all are sprinkled throughout. I have been asked why I shop there since I'm single and live alone, but they have plenty of good deals on non-perishable bulk that you can stock up on to both save and reduce store trips. Definitely NOT your sole grocery source, but they carry unique items (wool socks!) and offer values unavailable in other supermarkets. They can however frustrate when they stop carrying some of your favorites. There appear to be a host of perks for Plus members, including free shipping for online orders. read more

The Tire & Battery center at this Sam's Club rocks the house. For a mere $15 they were able to rotate and balance our tires. Excellent service and very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended! read more

For what it's worth. The Tires& Battery center here is like 5 stars in Walmart/Sam's Club standards. As for the rest of the store, you will get the spacey and odd ball shoppers/store clerks. But if you are in this area, and you want a club membership, Sams club is basically your only option. Once in a while you do get a good bargain here. I was able to spot Haagan Daz ice cream for 3 small containers of $4.50 ish. This is just one example. You can buy your eggs, milk and bread at a fair price here. Also the gas is always a few cents cheaper than nearby gas station, which is a plus. read more

I bought a new Samsung S6 smart phone on 4/18/2015. It died 5/22/15. Sam's only stands behind the phone for 30 days. Had to go to local corporate office and they will have to SEND me a new phone. Where's the service Verizion bragged about?!!!!! read more
