Horrible customer service. I was never greeted or acknowledged and had to stand at the register to even get assistance. When I told the gentleman that was working (I'm not sure if he's the owner) that I was interested in buying some kuhli loaches, he huffed & puffed with an attitude that was uncalled for. It's a shame because they have a beautiful selection of fish of all kinds and if it were based on the products alone, they'd probably get 4-5 stars but the customer service makes or breaks a place and it definitely hurt my experience. read more

He has a nasty attitude Everytime I come in to spend money. I just be kind and find the fish I want and leave. I always kill with kindness and I guess he takes advantage of that. And then he had the nerve to tell me that he wouldn't credit me for the two fish that I got from here that keep dying. He knew they were sick, and the lady that works here said she would give me the credit for the fish. He told me I needed to take it up with her after driving an hour to get here. The time before now I only had a few dollars after buying a red jewel cichlid that had signs of pine coning, and serious bacterial infection. He seen it. I bought the fish and knew I needed some more kanaplex so I went and asked my wife for some money she gave me 20$ and he said "oh you gotta ask your wife for money?!" I have a serious blood clot and I can't work but yet I choose to spend my money here. But I guess he don't think of that cause of his bad attitude. My wife was furious and told me not to come back. I should have listened to her, but he has a nice choice of sick fish I feel like I can nurse back to health. I'm already on school for marine biology. This makes me so mad. I'm going to get my credits from the lady who works here and never return. I guess it's back to Petco or aquatica of Memphis. It's a new building next to Petco on summer avenue. I hate his attitude but I keep returning. All his fish are very sick. And he knows it. He's just in denial. And that's fine. Just make sure you buy meds from Amazon. Not here. This is so frustrating. He told me he can't keep replacing the dead fish I buy from here, he just came back from vacation and he needs his money. I'm furious. read more

If you're walking in going to buy a fish.. fine, I'm sure theyre fine, but MAN! If you need them for anything other than that I can honestly say, in my 30 years of American commerce experience, I have never met a more disorganized, Ill-communicative, disrespectful organization. I booked them 3 separate times to come clean my tank at my house, it's bad, fish are dying, I needed help. This company ghosted me 3 times, like... I changed my schedule around 3 times to be at home for the cleaning and they just don't come... first one rain.. ok sure, though it wasn't even raining at the time they told me they were coming. 2nd time, just "forgot." Third time though, I was pumped.. they confirmed their opening and I was like ok hunnie, I'm going to skip the girls soccer game to get this tank cleaned it's needed really badly... and OF COURSE. No show. I've never felt more disrespected, they claimed because I didn't call and "pre-pay." Even though I did and they just sent the money back the first time. This company is aweful, disrespectful and run by people who can't even manage basic scheduling functions. I wish there was another option for this service in Memphis, there's just not. read more

Great addition to the aquarium game here in Memphis. We were starving for decent "pet" fish stores for many years. Now there must be at least five shops worth paying a visit. They all vary somewhat in their expertise, style, and set up. This makes it worthwhile to spread your business around and keep everyone around if you love the hobby as I do. These guys have an excellent selection of both fresh and saltwater fish. The prices are actually some of the best around, and I dare say they have the best quantity and diversity of fish anywhere within several hundred miles. My jaw has hit the floor a couple times with what they had in stock. They have tanks for sale. It looks like he builds stands and canopies himself. Not sure how he is with marine setups with sumps, skimmers, and high end monitoring systems. I did see plastic dish scrub pads in the sumps at the store, so there is that. Not the greatest media for bacteria growth, but to each their own. They have a small selection of corals for sale but the ones they do have are generally pretty nice. I bought an ultra maxima clam and it is doing great. It was priced extremely well compared to other places. The place does always seem to be in some sort of construction when I am there so that makes it feel a bit chaotic. There is definitely a lot going on here most of the time. My senses and mind get pretty stimulated. I wish they had more "salty type" goods in stock such as salt, additives, pumps, filter media, live rock, more corals, and a better selection of reef type foods. Great shop for all freshwater and saltwater tank needs. They have numerous types of corals and other saltwater life available including a wide array of rare or hard to come by fishes. Same goes for their inventory of freshwater fish. They have the basics and then they will get random rare fish in, quite often. So come by often and see the inventory!!! They also sell frozen foods for fish, fish tanks with and without stands, conditioners, tubing, filters and more. We have been buying fish from here for a few years now and just brought home a Congo puffer. All of the employees have been very knowledgeable and helpful and always very polite and personable. We have been beyond happy with all of our purchases from here and are looking forward to adding more cool fish to our tanks. read more

Great place, far better than fish barn. Helpful and courteous. Good selection of fish they don't sell in other places locally. I like that when they place an order, if you remember of their Facebook group they'll throw a post out asking if anyone needs or requests anything for either fresh or saltwater. Admittedly, the saltwater selection is not huge but the freshwater selection is very nice. Heck I can even get amano shrimp! Yay! Another thing that I really like is that they insure the store is handicap accessible. The store is still young with a lot of room for growth. And all of the fish I've gotten have survived well! read more
