This…read moreis the only hardware store close to us and it makes us very uncomfortable to see so many people without masks throughout the store. Other stores are making an effort to make the shopping experience safe for everyone, and it does not seem like Home Depot is doing enough. We did also have difficulty getting to a few of the items we needed. The boards we were trying to sort through were very warped and actually frozen together, which made it a little difficult and more time-consuming to get what we needed. Employees were helpful and willing to retrieve the next set of boards for us. The staff is always very kind and we can generally find everything we need here. My only real issue is not adhering to COVID precautions -- hopefully they can make a change and create a safe place to shop!

Then it stopped and started intermittently. Five minutes later a wider more forceful spray came out at a disconnect fitting. I immediately stopped the machine. I emptied the tank and returned to using just the vacuum function to gather the water it had dumped on the carpet. I went over the entire half of the carpet that had been cleaned before the fitting failed, wrapped up the cord, and I am preparing to return it to Headley Hardware. I should have gone to the place that has never failed to have quality, well maintained equipment. I was trying to save gas and give a local retailer some business. Never again. Oh, and the machine tank reeked of cat piss!

They do everything from keys (including "digital chip" key clones) to vast amounts of nuts and bolts, SAE and metric, tools, supplies, home/industrial hardware. They are not Grainger or Lee's. They are not Lowes or Menards. Their prices are sometimes high, but they don't sell cheap gear. I wished they'd sell lumber and plants, but maybe it's better that they don't. They get five stars for being the best HARDWARE store in the area. You don't have to buy a huge blister pack to get just one or two of an item. Their clerks know what they have, and it's a good idea to ask them. They sometimes have better alternatives in mind, and their selection is vast for the size store they operate; they can save you a lot of time, unlike the big box stores, where there are no real specialists except the Big Item sales people. I remember when Lowe's first came on the scene they tried to outdo Home Depot and did very well for years in my book. From the staff always asking if they can help you find something (and they still do for the most part), to sealing up their concrete floors and making the store more clean they seem to always one up their competition. Today I think they still do very well keeping their store clean, keeping items in stock and delivering appliances in a timely fashion. HD tends to court the contractor who buy in bulk while Lowe's goes after the DIYer. I know Wall Street doesn't like this but I do. Living in the west, Ace Hardware stores were twice the size they are here with many stand alone buildings so naturally the inventory was vast. Not so good here in the Midwest with older stores and smaller shopping center footprints type stores. This is where Lowe's excels by having pretty much everything you need. I have said it before and I'll say it again I am not a fan of buying merchandise online. I need to see it, touch it, try it on, etc. before I buy and I want the convenience of walking in and walking out with my item; not waiting for delivery.
