I needed some new running shoes, but wasn't sure of what to get. I had worn Nike in the past, but experienced some shin splints and had a minor foot injury. The staff person I worked with listen to me and pulled out a couple of different brands. I ran on the treadmill so that they could see my pronation and they recommended some insoles. Service was great. Emilee helped me and my sister. I bought 2 pairs, inserts and some socks. My sister bought 1 just because they were out of stock for the other pairs she wanted. Emilee was so helpful, given she just started. She was so patient with explaining the different types of shoes, brands, and comfort level that suits your needs. We both did the foot analysis and it's free. It shows you which type is best for your feet. Amazing! Their shoes are on the pricier side but you get what you paid for. It's like walking on clouds. If you're looking for comfort, sleek style and good quality , I think I just found them. Highly recommended. Don't forget to do the foot analysis. Claudia is the BEST! She patiently worked with me, answered all of my questions and made excellent recommendations. She took the time to understand the type of shoe I needed for my level of activity and high arches. She explained the different options and how I could benefit from each. It was great to compare and understand the pros and cons without feeling pressured to rush a decision or select something that wasn't going to be right for me. She did not try to up sell socks or their VIP plan, which I appreciated. I heard every other person talk about the savings and how to cancel. I was convinced to do that before and it was not easy to cancel. He was who ended up helping us get fit for shoes and pulled out not only what we were asking for, but also an assortment of options. So I stroll into Roadrunner Sports, thinking it's a simple in-and-out deal. I know my size, I know my shoe, I know my budget--easy, right? Ha! Instead, I'm suddenly in the middle of some bizarre, overpriced shoe carnival. They're measuring my feet, analyzing my walk like I'm auditioning for the Olympics, and babbling about custom insoles like they're about to cure world hunger. I wear a woman's extra-wide shoe--of course, they never have it in stock. So what do they do? Special order them, but first, they cut the insoles while I'm trying on shoes I already know don't fit! Now I've got custom insoles that look like they were hacked up by someone with a blindfold and kindergarten scissors. And don't even get me started on the upsell circus. Suddenly my Costco socks are no longer worthy, and they're pushing $30 socks like they're spun from unicorn hair and will make me run marathons. Spoiler alert: I can't run, and no amount of overpriced footwear is going to change that. But Roadrunner Sports is acting like their shoes are going to transform me into Usain Bolt. And the grand finale? Their relentless pitch for the VIP membership! Like, congrats, you've just survived the most annoying shoe-buying experience of your life, now join our cult! Discounts, perks--no thanks, I just want shoes, not a lifelong commitment. Came in on a slightly busy moment on a Sunday. Needed to exchange/return some shoes and WANTED to get a different size and another pair. A salesperson took my name, said it was busy and I was on a wait list to get to. Ok. Fine. So I sat down and waited. Then I watched as new customers came in and were served. Then watched as one salesperson sat and watched his one customer try on a pair. And just watched. All I needed was a different size of what I purchased and another pair of the same. So I sat and watched and waited. Remember, my name was on a waiting list! Got tired of waiting. Maybe I don't look like the customer they like. Or maybe they didn't think I was the type to buy shoes. I've purchased a lot of shoes from this very store. Since I was apparently invisible to help, I just decided to return all of my shoes, and I'll shop elsewhere. There are a lot of other stores to buy shoes from. I'm sure this won't make a dent in their sales or any significance whatsoever to this store so that is how I will respond accordingly. I'll dismiss this store from future purchases. The person who finally took my returns after asking about my sales experience did offer to find some help (get on another wait list?) but didn't seem to care about the situation. So again, that's how I will respond. My buying dollars will go elsewhere. read more

I was fitted by a short Asian kid in his early 20s. I'm a size 10 wide, but this kid insisted that I was a size 9.5 after using their "high tech" machine and assured me that I'd have a more comfortable running experience. Bought 2 shoes that he had me try on. They were very snug over my feet, but I haven't worn a size 9.5 since I was in my teens. I go home and immediately use one of the two pairs. The shoes fit tight, but there was no discomfort and I used these as my primary activity shoes. As the shoes became more noticeably worn, I switched to the other pair of new shoes. They were tight on my feet and I immediately felt they were uncomfortable to wear. After a single short walk, I couldn't wait to get them off my feet as they were painful to wear. I returned to Road Runner Sports and two employees including the manager listened to my explanation. The same short Asian kid was still working there in the store. The tall manager explained it had been 10 months and I had exceeded the 90 day return period. My explanation for wearing the first pair and not trying on the second pair until recently did not matter. No exchange would be given, so I was left with new shoes that didn't fit. I was unhappy with this experience and didn't return to this Road Runner store for many months. I went back today and there was a new manager. He said he would have exchanged the shoes for the right size if I had seen him instead, but now it was too late. I canceled my VIP membership. I've found that it's better to purchase the same shoes directly from Hoka or Brooks without paying a premium at Road Runner and getting a small 10% discount. There are better sales at the shoe brand's website. Plus, the other apparel at Road Runner is also priced at a premium. No wonder high cost shoes and apparel have fast become best acquired online. Won't buy anything from Road Runner Sports again. read more

If I could leave one star I would! This location is terrible. I've spent hundreds of dollars on shoes. Socks. Sandals. So many things. But won't spend another penny. My husband bought a pair of shoes FOUR months ago and spent $160 on them. The soles are completely falling apart. I spoke to Jacob first who said he'd see what he could do to help me. Then Michael who said he was the store manager got on the phone and said he couldn't do anything because it was past the 90 days. As a shoe store you should at least stand behind the products you're selling. I'd get it if this had happened after a year or even longer. But four months. Please. He's a truck driver so not even running in them. Buyer beware spend your $ elsewhere so at least if you have a problem they'll help make it right. This store manager doesn't seem to care about its customers at all. He offered to help me go through ASICS for warranty providing me a copy of the receipt. I have it! read more

Best Service Ever! Just got back from making a shoe purchase at this store. Excellent knowledgeable customer service (Fit Specialists) which is a rarity these days. I explained my various walking and balance challenges. My person immediately knew which shoes to show me. He also created a personally formed shoe insert for my high arches. While he was busy another Fit Specialist checked out the length of the shoes......seemed a bit short which put me in a size 9 (never had to do this before, but have noticed that the sizes in sport shoes vary widely company to company). Low and behold this solved the problem......the balance of the shoes perfect. I have issues with rolling off the side of my shoes.........not with these though. The shoes are pricey, but worth it. Custom insoles made, to try on at no obligation. I was asked questions about my intent to use the shoes. Noah explained my foot differences and recommended a few different brands to try. I went through the elaborate fitting process and they wanted me to buy a size 10 1/5 when I normally buy a 9 or 9 1/5. Then did the insole fitting. So I got a pair of 10/ 1/5 with the insole. My foot kept slipping around in the shoe and sliding off the custom insole. Especially when going downhill or even a slight incline. Took them back and they suggested a half size smaller which was a size 10. I still have the same problem of constant slipping around in the shoe. If I go to them again I will buy off the self in the size I usually get and ignore their suggestions. They may work for other people but they do not work for me. read more

I knew the shoes I wanted and had a pretty good idea of what I needed but Stewart still was able to educate me on several features of both the shoes (Hoka - Bondi SR) and the custom insoles. Road Runner Sports is the only specialty store I love visiting. Very helpful staff and a huge selection. The members program is also a great value even if you use it occasionally like me. This is my favorite shoe store! I've been coming here for the past month and have nothing but praise for this store. I was unaware of this store until I received a recommendation from a friend who has frequented this location. Upon walking in I was greeted and acknowledged by everyone in the store. My "fit expert" Pam was very personable and an absolutely pleasure to shop with. Her knowledge of the products was insightful and helped me make an informed decision. She even helped me make custom fitted insoles (so cool!). Went in to get fitted for cross country shoes for my son. Staff seemed to be actively ignoring us. After standing by the treadmills for 15 min and trying to make eye contact with any associate in the store, we left. They were greeting and helping the people who came in after us but we were never asked or greeted. Thankfully the Bellevue staff is much better. One star only because I can't do 0. Great place to go and get a precise fit for a pair of shoes. This is not a store to go in and just buy a pair of shoes, you go here to get the proper fit and type of shoe for your feet as well as what can help you address any imbalances you may have with your feet. Eddie at the Kent location helped me fit my feet with a pair of shoes I wouldn't have looked at other wise that work best for my feet for daily walking and a short run (couple miles round trip) a couple times a week. Check these guys out to have a thorough assessment and see which shoes or accessories may help you run or walk more efficiently and live healthier. read more

I can not begin to say how grateful I am, the level of training and knowledge was amazing!!!! Ben took great care to listen to what my needs where and about all the pains I was experiencing. I'm on my feet 12+ hours a day in an urgent care clinic. I would come home with feet that hurt so bad I couldn't walk on them, my knees hurt, my hips and lower back. Ben did some scans, watched my walk on a treadmill and then proceeded to make custom insoles for me. Then he brought out several pairs of shoes for me to try on and continued to bring out a few more until we found the perfect shoe for me. Today I put my new shoes to the test and for the first time in years came home pain free, I literally can get up and walk across my living room without pain. Due to this we need to find a place that sells high quality running gear with knowledgeable staff to best equip our families needs. Eddie was beyond amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable, well versed in all things running and customer service focused. He was so good with our daughter (she needed a good pair of distance running shoes) that my husband said he would only go back when Eddie was working to get his help. Unscrupulous business practices. All I wanted was some walking shoes. I was put on a machine to test my walking and another for something else, it involved insoles. I was passed to another rep for no reason. They brought shoes the wrong size [must have been all they had] and I repeatedly told the rep I did not want shoes like that. Finally purchased shoes. Got home looked at the bill . $75 for insoles. I returned it all. Not once did any of the rep's tell me there was a charge for all of it. And you have to join their club to get a discount? at $20, just another way to play the shell game.... Never again for me read more

I feel I can give this store 5 stars based on my experience with absolutely reservation whatsoever. I have been running seriously for about 3 years and a friend recommended Road Runner to purchase my next running shoe. I've been to sporting goods stores and running stores in the past, but I've received nothing like the care and attention I received here. Brandon took extra time to film my gait on the treadmill and was able to recommend several different shoes. We must've tried six to eight pairs of shoes before settling on Brooks "Beast" due to crazy push-offs from my stance. He very much took his time with me and at no point did I feel like I was putting him out with all of my shopping and stupid questions. It really is enlightening to see the way you run. The store can also create very well done inserts specifically customized for your foot right then and there! Also, if you're not cool with the inserts or the shoes that you purchase, you can always return them within 90 days. I'm very pleased with the customer service all across the board. I run. Well-I actually use running shoes to run. I've done so many mud runs, half marathons and some short fun runs...while I am not a "runner, runner" I do run and I know what I like. My first pair of real running shoes from an actual running store were from Fleet Feet in Chicago where I lived for a bit-and they are so big on selling you insoles that really that is all I remember from that experience (and the all the woman wanted to do is sell me insoles, socks and the 250$ pair of Nikes which I ended up returning-they were like knives being stabbed in my feet). My second pair were from Road Runner in Naperville IL (not a good store-actually a horrible store), the I purchased at Road Runner CO (Another not so good store), then my last home of Santa Monica CA (Another terrible store). You ask why do I keep coming to Road Runner stores that are not great stores...because there really aren't a lot of options and I don't want to go to a Dick's Sporting Goods to look for a specific kind of running shoe. So, I was really going to grab some lunch at Chipotle. And I saw that this Road Runner Store was in the same shopping center...I did need new shoes...I went in, held my breath and hoped for the best. I was immediately greeted by Jessica! She was awesome and I had so many options to choose from for the first time ever!!! I have already been on the treadmill thing I am a neutral pronator that would prefer to run barefoot if I could (but the trail in Seattle by the water is less than safe to run barefoot). So I wanted a super light shoe...minimal is best for me. Then she offered me a few options and some brands I had never heard of...then I saw it...the holy grail of shoe (Angels begin to sing). I had purchased my favourite pair of Adidas way back in the day I bought them for 4 seasons the exact same model, year and colour (even though they brought out the next version) ...then...they totally went extinct (heart-wrenching) and I had to move on and I have bought some horrible running shoes since then. Well, I loved the shoe so much I even had pictures on my phone of the shoes and the box...just in case I could ever find something similar again...So I pulled my pictures out, Jessica and I had a good giggle it was like I had pictures of my super cute dog or something...but no I had pics of my favourite shoes of all time. Oh and after I told Jessica the extra special insoles did nothing for me she dropped the subject and we went on to look for super cute and functional running shoes. The only drawback is they did not have the colour I wanted :( However Jessica did order them for me and they will be shipped to my home and my feet will be so happy running in them! I don't live anywhere near here I live in Seattle in Belltown...but the next time I need new running shoes I will be tempted to go here...good service at Road Runner or any running shoe place is hard to find...Oh then I'll grab lunch at Chipotle :) *Thanks Jessica! read more

This was an awesome place to visit, as soon as I walked in they listened to my entire list of issues with pains in my feet/legs and instantly moved me onto the treadmill and started making custom insoles. While the price is higher up front for a pair of shoes or insoles, I put in about 60k steps a day on average and have not had a single fault with my shoes in over a month. Eddie was excellent for staying past the open hours to make sure I got everything I needed too, as I only gave myself 1.5 hours to get it done and they didn't get even slightly annoyed for bringing out 10+ pairs of shoes for me to try. He also gave his input on my many leg/foot issues and supplied me with possible solutions. There is nothing I would change about the service I received. They've earned a lifelong customer. read more
