We go often to eat at Roadhouse.Usually we are there 1-3 times per week. The staff is awesome....welcoming and even remember what you want to drink. The food is "spot on". OK!!! Love the food and LOVE the vibe!! Great first sign - lots of cars in the parking lot. Then I walked in, met a wonderful lady who told me she was crazy, so I told her we were family!! I ordered the Road House Breakfast and requested the pancake, but "Crazy" told me to try their Belgian waffle in the shape of Texas & that I would not be sorry! Absolutely delicious!! The entire meal!! Hash browns, sausage patties, eggs just how I like 'em!! Plus I added a side of gravy (tip for all of you!!) Will be back again soon! Great local diner! Serving sizes are generous and the flavor is spot on. The husband ordered chicken fried chicken and I had chicken fried steak. We split so we could both try each. We had the same sides: Butter beans, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Nothing was greasy and, because we'd been cleaning out an elderly family member's house all day, we were actually able to eat everything. I'd love to try their breakfast sometime, because a diner like this is probably amazing. (Side note: I think I like the chicken fried steak from Weezy's a little better, but Roadhouse was tasty enough to get again.) read more

We're on the road and this is the only place I've seen with decent reviews other than the catfish place down the road. We came on a Monday night and there's about 5 other tables that were occupied. We have a very friendly server and when she took our orders, she apologized for having ran out of the baked potato and mac n cheese sides (the very ones my youngest kiddo have been asking to have). Anyway, I picked the tater tots as side for his corn dog kids meal. I ordered the grilled chicken meal (with mashed potato and gravy, green beans, and coleslaw sides); my hubby got the catfish poboy (with fried okra as side); my oldest kiddo got the chicken sandwich (with curly fries as side). We all loved our food. My youngest ate up 3/4 of my mashed potatoes. My hubby and oldest kid licked their plates clean. And I'm very pleased with my dish as well. The only criticism I have is that when I walked to the restroom, the floors of the kitchen area is dirty. The general dining area also needed sweeping. The restroom itself is very clean though! So, I'm hoping that the food they served is also just as clean!! read more

Ordered the CFS with pinto beans, fried okra and mashed potatoes: OMG was it all delicious! The CFS is pan fried and pounded thin well just the way I like it. I would have given them 5-stars but the waitress disappeared too early in the service and stayed away. Next time I am in town I'll be back. read more

In town for the night and wanted an early morning breakfast for the kiddos. Decided to try the Roadhouse. Very friendly when we walked in, ladies said seat yourself, be right with you. Waitress was helping us within seconds of sitting and taking our drink order. Several waters, chocolate milk and a couple soft drinks were on the table quickly. We took a little while to decide, but waitress was very accommodating and awesome. We had 4 TEXAS waffles and some eggs, sausage, bacon. Youngest had a pancake that came out like mickey. Waffles took a little longer bc they only had one iron. Definitely need to add more because they were popular and good! I can not say enough about the 3 waitresses and the waffle girl. Great service, worked their tales off and definitely deserve a nice tip if you stop in. Great breakfast joint! Thanks for the great start to our day. read more

Omg! Trash can nacho fries could feed a family even though they are listed as an appetizer ! The rib eye steak had a nice seared tasted and cooked perfectly to med rare. I also got the vegetable medley and was pleasantly surprised with the grilled crispness. We were also served a nice piece of homemade cake for dessert. Food and prices are not bad. And the staff is friendly. The only problem is the cockroaches. I had a HUGE one drop from an overhead beam, bounce off my head, and land onto our table. BTW, the Lamar County Health Department web site needs to be upgraded. The only document you can access for restaurant inspections is a blank inspection report. What good is a restaurant rating if you can't find out what the violations are? read more

Very disappointed today, went to eat lunch, busy, ordered the chicken breast, one came out was small, the waitress told us they would bring out another, they did, was undercooked, brown beans were hard, had no seasoning, corn was cold , told waitress, she did bring out more corn, it was hot, but overcooked and needed seasoning. The service was good. Cashier asked if everything was OK, I told her what is in the post, she replied "I'm sorry ". Wow really that's all you care. Waitress did tell us it was a new cook, I do understand but with menu prices going up, I expect food I can eat. Always recommend this restaurant to everyone, but may have to rethink that. Driving from Louisiana to Tulsa and this was a little our of the way, but not too far. They have a great variety from which to choose and serve breakfast all day. There is counter seating as well as a very large dining area with small tables for two and large booths for up to 6. We had breakfast and lunch entrees. The kids breakfast portion was a very large pancake and a large sausage patty. Our picky eater had 3 slices of bacon-thick cut peppered- and a buttermilk biscuit. A kid's fish plate and chicken strip plate had large portions of meat and hand cut fries. I had the Beans and Salad-pinto beans and a trip to the salad bar. Beans were well seasoned/cooked, but not mushy and the salad bar was very well supplied romaine and spring mix, despite it being a small mom and pop type place. My husband had the Good Egg Burger. It was huge, he only ate half, and was loaded with bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and egg on a handmade one inch thick piece of meat. We had a basket of fried pickles while we waited at whole fifteen minutes for our food. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating to my 5 kids and even brought crayons and coloring books while we waited for food. This was a great stop for us and we'll definitely be back!! read more

Checked this place out with my family on our way back to Dallas (from Oklahoma). Great service and descent diner food. I got their eggs and sausage dish and I was able to substitute the toast for a biscuit. My husband got their omelette and my kiddos got their pancakes. All our food was ready at a reasonable time and it was tasty. Def recommend this spot read more

Tea is nothing but water with a slightly darker color. Food comes out and the fries are limper than my unmentionables when I saw Hillary Clinton in a swimsuit. I ordered the philly steak and on a taste scale it was a 5 or 6 out of 10 not too bad, however the portion was small and the bread was stale, very hard to but into. French Toast is very tasty, and you must try the Sue Taters. It's sort of a "garbage" breakfast plate--eggs, ham, bell peppers, onions, hash browns, and gravy all mixed together.
