Deeeelicious. Came here Sunday morning for a quick brunch (not so quick), I got the half order of the salmon eggs Benny and my boyfriend got the breakfast burrito. And let me tell you this food was divine. The potatoes were cooked to perfection, the hollandaise sauce was great, the eggs still had the perfect runny yolk, and the salmon was a nice thick flavorful slab. My boyfriend didn't have as great of things to say about the breakfast burrito. While the scrambled eggs were delicious, it was suppose to have bell peppers, onions, among other veggies, and those just kind of disappeared? There were very small pieces so it was basically just an egg burrito... it also took quite a while to receive our check once done and finish off that whole transaction. I've dined in and ordered take out from Roadhouse Grille a handful of times over the last few months and it's been a consistently good diner breakfast experience. If you can, check them out on weekdays before 10am as they have a pretty good breakfast deal. They have a large assortment of breakfast and lunch options. Everything from omelettes, waffles, sandwiches, soups, and more. I can't speak on anything besides the cali scramble because it's the only thing I've gotten from there. I love the spinach, avocado, and goat cheese combo and they are quite generous with all the above in the omelette. The manfriend has gotten the early riser combo which includes eggs, choice of meat, toast, and hashbrowns -- from my understanding he has no complaints. When we dined in, the service was quick and attentive and our coffees and water were never empty, which left us full, hydrated, and caffeinated. Plenty of parking outside and the restaurant is spacious enough that you are very much socially distant from the next table. Tried this place for breakfast. Interesting ambiance and wasn't too busy so it was quiet and easy to visit with our group. Service was quick and waitress returned often with coffee refills but didn't go out of her way to be very friendly. Coffee was meh. Food arrived promptly and portion sizes were very generous. Met some friends after a walk on the beach. It's a big place with lots of rooms and places for kids to play. It's old school 1980s decor with lots of posters etc bric a brac all around. We were seated quickly and the waitress was quick and efficient. Coffee was ok, hot and brown, just like you'd expect diner coffee with lots of refills. The corned beef hash which was 18$ I believe was made with a sliced product similar to deli meat, so not chunky like you'd expect. No seasoning and quite bland so was kicked up a few notches with some hot sauce s and p. The potatoes seemed like they were a frozen product. The huevos rancheros was served on a tortilla so not traditional and also very bland. It was cheesy though. We did not order any toast but we saw toast on other tables and the toast looked good! The Greek omelette was the better dish of the 3 but again was virtually tasteless, the feta really helped but the tapenade was not good. Seemed like it was made with canned black olives and not much else. Sorry. 17$ with spinach and mushrooms. All in all the prices are steep for what you get. My husband wanted the breakfast burrito which was 17$, if you wanted guac or refried beans it was 28$ so that's why he got the hash lol. Checking out my breakfast options in South Surrey, I came across Roadhouse Grille. Before making my way, I was able to check out their menu online. I would definitely only come here for breakfast if I can make it for the Weekday Specials before 10am, otherwise breakfast can be pretty pricy for what is offered. My boyfriend and I came on a snowy weekday and it was comforting to enter such a homey restaurant. We got to sit in the area with large windows at all sides so we could watch the snow fall while staying cozy inside. We both ordered the Early Traditional, essentially $2 cheaper than the regular Traditional breakfast and we get a complimentary coffee, tea or pop. Food came relatively quickly. Everything tasted as it should - scrambled eggs were fluffy and soft, sourdough toast was crispy and chewy, potatoes were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, bacon was crispy but a little on the drier side. In the end, I was perfectly satisfied with the food and the service. Plenty of parking and seating area, so I'll definitely be back if I'm up early enough to catch the weekday specials! read more

We haven't been to the Roadhouse in awhile (since Dad moved from White Rock). We came in for a late lunch and happily found parking right away. We asked for a table at the front but the host told us they were cleaning it up so we sat in the back with all the kitschy decor. Our drinks order was taken right away but it took awhile for the sub-par coffee and watery orange juice to come. Our waitress dropped off the drinks and said she'd be right back. I saw her cash out one table, disappear for a few minutes then return to clear another table and bring them a take away container while we continued to wait ... WTF! I had to flag her to get her to come back. Luckily, our order wasn't too complicated and we got our food in decent enough time. My 4 pieces of tiny french toast looked sad and lonely on a big unadorned plate. The store bought syrup in the fancy container was a nice touch but unfortunately couldn't save the bland and dry (!) french toast. On the other hand, my Dad enjoyed his cream of chicken corn soup. FIRST IMPRESSION The interior decor of McJac's Roadhouse Grille is striking. I'm guessing it's either someone's idea of a country western / 50s diner or the result of someone moving to a smaller apartment and having loads of stuff to get rid off. Word of warning, if you have a migraine the bright walls may cause stabs of pain to shoot through your eyeballs. (legal says to tell you I am not a medical professional and there is no basis in fact for the migraine warning.) Check out the guitar ceiling fan (see photo) which must have seemed like a good idea the time. FOOD I ordered from the lunch menu which offers "Gourmet Burgers," "Sandwiches," "On the lighter side," 'Mexican Flavour," & "Roadhouse Chili". I decided on the "Roadhouse Burger" plain with cheddar cheese and sautéed mushrooms on a white bun ($12). If you like burgers that dribble grease (and yes, I do) then the Roadhouse Grille fits the bill. The blissful comfort of grease slides around the palate after every bite. Mushrooms are cemented to the patty with a generous portion of melted cheese. The meat and add-ons were nice and warm, but the bun was not. The bun looked like it might have been toasted, but I couldn't swear to it. Overall, a nice flavourful burger. For a 50s themed restaurant I did find the absence of french fries strange. The burger came with pan fried potatoes which tasted fine, but seem better suited to breakfast rather than a burger dish. SERVICE The server was friendly although a tad eager as she seemed to keep arriving at our table every 45 seconds to ask if we were ready to order despite being told we needed a few minutes to decide. When the meal arrived she was attentive, but I'm guessing we were her last table because 10 seconds after dropping off our bill she appeared at the table hovering with a mobile debit terminal. RECOMMENDATION Hey, I'd try it again. Next time though I'll go for the dinner menu. read more

This place has a lovely patio. I was so happy to find this place as there aren't many in this area that have a patio and serve breakfast. Breakfast was delicious. I had the standard eggs, sausages, hash browns and toast. I loved that they served their homemade sourdough bread for toast. The only one suggestion I would make is that they have an option to pay more and get omega three free range eggs. Went to Roadhouse last night and ordered the Prime Rib along with 2 other of our group. I am always hesitant to order any meat from restaurants I'm not familiar with but the other 2 people in our party ordering convinced me to order. I asked for medium rare. When the food came the prime rib was well done actually over cooked - when asked about it the waitress just said that was all that was left for the night. The fact that she did come back and tell me that they had no medium rare left is unacceptable. I have never written a review on yelp before and doubt I will again but this may have been one of the most disappointing dine outs I have had. It was very frustrating. Have gone through ups and downs with this restaurant since they opened. Decided on brunch today, surprise! No line up like it use to be, should have Been a clue. Service was good, food less than mediocre. Had the eggs benny with potatoes. When I expressed my dissatisfaction they admitted the recipe had changed. Change it back! Presentation was awful and now use One slice of ham to cover both muffins, ham and not back bacon. My guest had the same and felt the same way. Very overpriced for what we got. I have to say that I have frequented this restaurant many many times over the years and the food and service is generally good. However, went there for breakfast this am with my son and girlfriend. My girlfriend and I ordered the exact meal which is "The Riser" which includes a huge pancake, 2 eggs, and a few slices of bacon for $17. The meal arrived luke warm and the Pancakes were practically burned. Mine wasn't too bad but my girlfriend couldn't eat her pancake. After asking for some consideration on the bill we received $7 off the price of one Riser. I guess that was the cost of the Pancake that they burned. I thought they missed an opportunity to make things right and were pretty tight in deducting $7 off because of the burnt pancake. IMO, they need to reassess their Customer Service practices and bring them in line with a process that actually represents good customer service. Don't think I will be going back there anytime soon! read more

My Girlfriend and I had been to this restaurant before with some friends that live in White Rock and really liked it. We found ourselves in the neighbourhood again so we decided we should stop in again. What a good choice this was!!! I usually only eat Prime Rib at weddings and buffet dinners as it is one of the only meat options but it is usually not all that great and mostly fat. That is not the case here at all! I saw on of the 8 ounce Prime Rib dinners go by and I was sold! It was a huge chunk of prime rib bigger than most steaks you get at restaurants. The meat was heavenly as well so it tasted like it looked. It came with mashed potato's, carrots, asparagus and a Yorkshire pudding (so so tasty). My Girlfriend had a Half Cesar and the Stuffed Yorkies. The Stuffed Yorkies were to die for. There was a huge yorkie with what I think was basically a pulled prime rib (like pulled pork without the bun). I could have just eaten that as my dinner even know it was just an appy. There are two sides of this Establishment though depending on you dining occasion. One side is a fancier looking black and white theme (still causal dress) and the other side is more 50's diner. The tacky 50's side is just better for some reason and I can not place it. The staff are really friendly here and love what they do. So stop in here and eat some meat (or that veggie stuff if you are so inclined) and leave with a full belly and a smile on your face! read more
