I am a vegetarian, and its hard to find a good spot especially in surrey that offers a great vegan meal, thats both western and Indian. By far my fav vegan burger!! The menu was great, lots of items you can order pizza, pasta, and Indian! I got a few dishes, and I was happy with them all. I really enjoyed the veggie burger, and the tandoori paneer plate & the cauliflower wings. Everything was flavourful, and felt healthy, I didnt feel gross after eating this food (most places in surrey you feel like there is MSG and feel not good after eating it) but I felt leaving good! The place was busy when I came in and the staff was very nice and attentive Overall it is very clean, and there is absolutely no meat or eggs there. My boyfriend and I were planning on watching a movie at the nearby Strawberry Hills Cineplex. After a search of restaurants in the area, we found this one. A vegetarian bistro and we had just been talking about trying more vegetarian dishes? Why not? As the name suggests, it is small and quaint, buried in a strip mall and one of those "blink and you'll miss it" places. The decor reminded me of a contemporary restaurant where everything is chosen based on their ease of ability to be cleaned (and for the record, the place was clean), with enough seats to sit about 15 people, and I may be rounding up. We were the second table to enter and we were greeted promptly and given the menus. Perhaps I was misled by the restaurant name and did not really know what to make of the meat dishes that I saw: Beef burger? Chicken Nuggets and Fries? Crispy Chicken Burger? I saw nothing to indicate they were the vegetarian version of chicken nuggets or beef burgers, and about 2/3 of the menu was vegetarian or vegan options, so I surmised they must have put a few meat options there to satisfy any meat eaters that wander through the door. I settled on the Spaghetti with Veggie Balls and the boyfriend ordered the Veggie Curry. The pasta was quite filling (included garlic bread) and I discovered the veggie balls and/or sauce was a tad above my spiciness tolerance level, and was even spicier than the Veggie Curry. In hindsight, I wasn't surprised: it is my personal experience that a lot of the times a vegetarian dish will have a lot of spices added in. Chalk it up to not reading the ingredients carefully and thinking things through. In terms of service, I thought it was great. Water glasses were filled regularly, the waitress checked up on us to ask how we were enjoying the food. I would be very interested in coming back and trying other items on the menu! read more

I wish I could tell you about the food. I can't. The stated opening time--both on the restaurant door and the restaurant website--was 11:00 am and we arrived on a Tuesday at 11:24 for lunch. As we drove away at 11:30, two people walked up from the parking lot and opened the restaurant door. It's not naive to expect a restaurant to be open and ready to serve you 20 minutes after their declared opening time. Stumbled upon this place by chance. Super friendly service and very cute little restaurant. I had the Greek wrap, really light and refreshing. Super fresh as well, not at all soggy! Fantastic food! Fantastic service! Fantastic place, so clean, so open, so happy. The menu is so big that it took me 10 minutes to order. They make sure you're happy and full at the end. We have eaten here twice now. The first time, we showed up right before closing and I felt a bit bad for that, but they were so friendly and happy to serve us. I had the Teriyaki Rice Bowl and my husband had the veggie curry. Both deicious and nicely spiced and attractively presented. Second time, we called in our order and picked it up for take-out. We had the Veggie Lasagne and the Pesto Naan Pizza. Both very tasty. There is quite a lot of cheese, but I'm sure most customers love that. Don't second guess by looking on the outside of the restaurant. The quality of the food was freshly made and a little more on the healthy side. They were very accommodating to our vegan and non vegan options. There is an extra cost to sub for vegan cheese. $2. We also ordered nachos with vegan cheese and a kids spaghetti pasta with fries. No photo. I personally feel daiya cheese is not that yummy being vegan. I rather not have it. I ordered a vegan panini with pesto sauce (my choice) it was very bland so I added salsa sauce which tasted better. I always ask for no salt on the fries which to me tastes better and is better for you. Then there is the veggie lasagna with regular cheese. I was told it was as good as it looked! I've walked by this place at least twice every week average for the past year on the way to seeing Gareth but have never gone inside until recently. I had the extra encouragement from a fellow Yelper in passing. The ambiance seems more hole in the wall style but the food speaks volumes. Why didn't I come sooner? I feel so ashamed at myself. Menu is a fusion of North American comfort food and Indian Food. Prices are incredibly reasonable on a tight budget. I had the pasta dish which was amazing. Extremely large portion, therefore, I had to take half to go. I left room for their awesome vanilla buttercream cake. My expectations were not very high, but what a lovely surprise! I ordered Sheppard's pie and it was to die for. Totally delicious. It came with a yummy gravy and cesar salad. I would describe it as Canadian comfort food with no meat. Actually, it was the best tasting Sheppard's pie I have ever eaten, meat or no meat. I can't wait to try out their other offerings. My wife and I are vegan and the host showed us everything on the menu that could be made vegan; the list was very long!! We started with the stuffed nan. From bite one we were in heaven. Since then we've tried their veggie curry, lasagna, poutine, nachos, quesadillas and probably some other things I can't remember right now. Seeing that I am a regular at vegetarian spots along Main Street in Vancouver, I may come biased when it comes to vegetarian restaurants. This place is the closest (possibly only!) vegetarian friendly place near my work. I love that they are a small shop, and their portions are huge. Their shepherds pie was a little bit odd, as it comes with a plate of gravy, and the veggies and potatoes where all mixed together, rather than the traditional veggies in the bottom and potatoes on top. I feel like it also had a bit of an Eastern flare to it, as it tasted like their were spice in the pie that would not be in a traditional shepherds pie. Their stuffed Naan bread, however, is out of this world as they make fresh chutney for it! I would definitely go back to this place. read more

The food is amazing!!! The food is so delicious, using fresh ingredients! The quality just speaks for itself. The service too is impeccable, they catered for my special dietary needs. The restaurant has some vegan and gluten free options, you just need to ask the owners who will try to cater for your needs. I also think a lot of the products are Organic, which I love! - definitely my new FAVORITE place. I have made several trips to this restaurant now and tried an array of dishes.
