I went in person to this small shop to order 4 bridesmaids' bouquets for a small outdoor wedding two weeks out - a very small order that would have been around $250. The shop attendant took notes on what I wanted. I arranged to have my sister pick them up the morning of the wedding. On the day of the wedding, my sister called from the store to say they didn't have my flowers. The shop attendant said she accidentally wrote down 6/2 (a Tuesday!) instead of 5/2 (a Saturday). This was AFTER she confirmed they closed at noon on Saturdays so I would need to get them before 11:30 and AFTER I asked, "Is this enough notice for a small wedding flower order?". So, I asked over the phone if the shop attendant could pull together 4 small bouquets of ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, and she said NO! My sister ended up going to 4 different grocery stores in the area and was able to put together the original bouquets I requested. I was shocked that this shop did absolutely nothing to help correct an error they made and doesn't keep enough stock on hand to whip up something small. I obviously do not recommend this florist, which is disappointing, because I love to support small local businesses. Unfortunately, the high school student working at the local Kroger was more helpful. read more

We were in Roanoke for an event and I wanted to surprise my husband with flowers delivered to our hotel room. The ordering process was simple and the flowers were delivered on time. However, the quality of the bouquet was very low. I ordered the "deluxe designers choice" so the florist could pick the best flowers they had in stock. The bouquet came with so much filler and only 4 premium flowers (roses). The filler was daisys, carnations, and greenery. The daisys wilted less than 3 hours after they were delivered. The cost of the bouquet and delivery was over $100. I was so disappointed. read more

Popped in yesterday to pick up an arrangement for our anniversary. It was my first time coming in, and I was greeted with a smile and invited to check out what they had in stock. I mentioned the occasion for which I was shopping to the very nice florist who was working at the time, and she offered to create an arrangement for me from scratch. I mentioned that my wife likes calalillies, so she came up with an arrangement with those mixed in. Fast forward, and my wife loved the flowers, and our living area where the arrangement is displayed smells fantastic! We are both pleased, and we will be back here again for sure! read more

I've been here 3 times over the last year and have been pleased every time. Twice were for Mother's Day arrangements that I had the make custom and the third was a pre made one for a birthday. Each time the flowers were fresh and lasted quite a while. I am so disappointed. My Husband bought me flowers for Valentines day at about $120.00 from Roanoke Florist. Four days later the flowers look awful. This florist has to be one of the worst florists in the Metroplex. My husband ordered the pic on the left online for them to deliver. And the pic on the right is the one I got. My wife had been mad at me for several days for a reason that is still unclear to me. So I was trying to do something to help get me out of trouble. So after I got online and placed an order for flowers to be delivered same day, I found a good deal and a beautiful arrangement that I placed an order for. 3 hours later, I got a text from my wife that I was the greatest husband ever! Worst florist I've ever used. Ordered a "Lush" plant bowl for my daughter's first Mother's Day. What Roanoke Florist sent was terrible. What I ordered had four plants in it, lush looking as the name implied. What my daughter received was one ugly, thin, spindly plant with some other teeny tiny plant at the bottom with about two leaves. I'd spent $88 for the plant bowl, so I called. I was very nice at first. The first girl on the phone gave several excuses, the best one being that the pictures are "Photoshopped" so you're not going to get what you order. Wow. Then don't use pictures that do not represent what you're selling. I totally understand alternates having to have been used and would have been fine with that, if I had gotten my money's worth. But it was nothing comparable to what I paid for. I realize we are in the middle of the virus and they may have trouble with their delivery, but that excuse was not adequate, either. I would have been totally flexible if she had offered to replace it with the proper plants or even a flower arrangement worth the money I'd spent. The owner got on the phone and had a smarty attitude from the beginning. I wanted them to replace the plant with something better than what they sent and worth the money I paid. I had been very nice to her, but I explained that I could have spent $9.99 at Walmart and received the same thing. She got mad, raised her voice and said she was going to just cancel the order and go pick it up from my daughter! She would not replace it with something worth the value of the money I spent! She was so rude! She kept trying to talk over me and being totally rude and making a million excuses. Plus, she said she made that arrangement herself! Wow! That's bad. So instead of redoing the job properly, she completely RUINED my daughter's first Mother's Day. There are no other florists with anything left, so my daughter will not have anything for her first Mother's Day thanks to Roanoke Florist! Unbelievable. I see they have terrible reviews for this very same thing. I just wished I had checked the reviews before I bought from "Ruth," the owner. Worse experience I've ever had with a florist. Previously on 8/20/16 I wrote a review about Roanoke Florist about a floral arrangement I received (see below). Update: 8/23/16 - Today I received a new bouquet from Roanoke Florist with an apology for the first one. I wasn't expecting that. I appreciate their efforts to make it right. Today's bouquet is much better than the one I received on Friday. It has fresh flowers that are in better shape. If Roanoke Florist makes arrangements like this, their business will do well and people will want to use them. If not, then business will be driven away. My boyfriend had flowers delivered to my job that he paid over $100 for, which included red roses, stargazers and 2 other kinds of flowers. They looked beautiful the day I got them and within the 2 days following, they were already drooping. The stargazers had already begun to wilt at the ends and the roses were facing down. I'm very upset that he spent this kind of money and this is the quality flowers that were delivered. We will be sure NOT to use this company again. We don't recommend them. The $10 flowers he got from a local grocery store before he had these $100+ sent to my work are still kicking and smell beautiful, while these expensive ones are practically dead in a fraction of the time. read more

Well received flowers from my daughter and her husband for my birthday and it was just like Mother's Day. This florist sent old flowers with brown edges. Do they think since this order is placed from out of town that it's ok to use their old flowers? SMH. I guess I need to let my family not to use this florist. Bought 6 roses that were not fresh and were open with brown edges..... Didn't really want to make a fuss when I saw the roses since I am not an expert.... I paid $35 for 6 roses and nothing else ..... After telling my fiancé that I paid $35 she was in shock .... And told me I shouldn't have paid more than $15 ..... Do not go to this store .... They will try to gouge you and the product is substandard ..... I am all about mom and pop stores... But I really do hope they go out of business ...
