The cute bottle was a bonus! FYI, they do not refill or offer discounts if you bring back your bottle. (health codes do not allow it) The decor is cute and all the bottles are so adorable. This location is fairly small with cute decor and great customer service. The service was very bright and welcoming as they greeted every customer with a smile. This is not a boba shop you can come and expect to study or chill inside. There are no tables or seating available except outside. I ordered their oolong milk tea, which I read somewhere on the menu is brewed daily, but it does not taste like usual oolong. Instead it tasted like roasted milk tea with a lot of sugar. I let it sit so the ice can melt hoping it would even out the sugar level, but no difference. I probably won't ever order their oolong again. They should probably fix the menu and label it as roasted oolong milk tea. I was totally craving the Tropical Storm and was hoping this spot was open. I walked into music blaring and two people sitting on stools without a mask near the register. They ask that you don't cross the white line to order. However, with the music blaring, the guy who showed up behind the register could not hear me and I couldn't hear him. After three attempts of repeating himself, he removes his mask and looks over to the guy sitting on the stool who then lowers the music. Seriously, why put signs everywhere to social distance and wear a mask when the employee and his homies are just chilling without a mask and having a party among themselves. Good tea and smoothies, but very disappointed. No special glass cups, which I drove very far to get. Instead I just got my drink in a plain plastic cup. I even called the location to see if they were open during this"quarantine" and she did not even mention that they did not have any special glass cups in stock. In the store she said they would start using the cup after the quarantine is over. When I asked her if I could redeem the cup later with my receipt, she said no and that I would have to buy another drink. So, I basically paid for a very overpriced boba drink. Not worth my $6...... Roasting water, please offer a 15% discount if you want to keep your customers happy during this quarantine since you aren't giving us the cup we pay for. Also she needs to speed up her drink making. I've been here a couple of times and instead of getting their smoothies I got their strawberry lemonade it was was soo good. Awesome choice from the cashier who suggested this drink to me by the way! This review was originally going to be 4 stars but im dropping a star because by the time i had finished my drink I noticed that is was filled with ice by more than half. I finished my drink within a couple of sips which sucks cause I was really trying to savor the lemonade. Overall the service and the strawberry lemonade were great. Full disclosure, this wasn't our first choice for treats the evening we were at Long Beach Towne Center. I actually was craving a specific ice cream flavor from next door but they didn't have it so I was (sad face) walking passed this location & spotted the word "Ghirardelli" on their menu. As a fan of that particular brand of chocolate (the hot fudge is toe curling for me), I was almost hypnotized to try something. I ended up ordering an aptly flavored drink called "Frozen Hot Mess" which, let me just tell you, is sweet and sweet. And for me, it was DELICIOUS. I mean, if you're gonna go for it, just go for it. It's ironic that the drink called "Guilty Pleasure" which was also ordered this particular evening is actually less sweet than the "Frozen Hot Mess". So pick your treat. And choose wisely. Oh, and the bottles they serve with the drinks are too cute. I don't know how cost effective it is for them, but they are reusable so I appreciate them. read more

This location has been a huge disappointment. It is located in the Long Beach Town Center near the Edwards Movie Theater and there is always plenty of parking. I was really looking forward to trying this spot and had read that it was a great coffee shop. We had ordered two of their Roasting water Iced Coffees, and they tasted overly sweet! This place shouldn't even be considered a coffee shop because of its pre-made coffee. We tried to get the sweetness level adjusted, and they said that their coffees are premixed/made, so there is no adjusting the sweetness level, no customizing your order to different milks and no adding anything. As soon as we got to our car, we threw the coffee in the bushes and kept the cup. They serve their drinks in a variety of cute reusable cups. There weren't many choices on the menu, without sugar already added to your drink. It's a cute place to get fun drinks in their cute bottles if you don't mind all the sugar they add. Last time I got the Sunburst smoothie (strawberry and passion fruit), and it was a little too milky/bland/unflavorful for my taste. This can become a collectible if you are into things like that. Look at their instagram page to know when the design changes. There is no discount if you bring back the bottle for refill. This location is at Long Beach Town Center and it is right off the freeway. It is right next to Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. There is not much place to sit down and it is more of a to go place. The line is long and out the door, but it goes by fairly quickly. Staff were friendly and offered recommendations. The place is super cute I ordered the Lots of Lychee Fruit Tea with Green Tea and Strawberry Lemonade. All drinks come with two free add on such as: boba, grass jelly, chia seeds, honey aloe, strawberries, jackfruit...If you want additional add-ons, they are $0.50 per add on. I usually get the LOL with herbal tea, though I have tried it with black tea (which makes it a little more bitter than the herbal tea). It is a small shop so there is no indoor seating, but there are plenty of patio seats outside in the town center. Sometimes the wait can be a little bit long, but the employees do their best. Some patrons can get annoying (high school kids, college kids), but the drinks are good and come out within reasonable time. I have seen so many posts about this cute place and never had a chance to visit until a couple weeks ago. I went at the butt crack of dawn at 8am on a Saturday. I was craving boba milk tea but the cashier told me they make the boba every morning so it was not ready. The other flavored balls were available but I really just wanted regular boba. After the kind lady reviewed the items they have and what the procedure was for ordering, I decided to get the guava tea with grass jelly and chia seeds & I got my husband a strawberry banana smoothie with extra strawberries. I was the only customer so the order was quickly whipped up and placed into two very cute, plastic beach/luau themed bottles. The appearance of my Lychee drink did not look very appealing so I was worried about the decision I had made. I was so excited to leave with the two cute drinks, I completely forgot to get those long straws. Luckily, I went home straight after so I just poured it into a regular cup for consumption. My guava tea ended up being so refreshing and not overly sweet. My husband loved his strawberry banana. Found out about Roasting Water from a friend who repeatedly checked in and posted her bulk purchases on Instagram. I was intrigued with their bottles. It looked like a great souvenir. I was wary, though because I remember visiting a place because of their great "packaging" but found out we have to pay extra for the nice bottle. Not so here at Roasting Water. All your orders will come in the nice bottle. I came one day and our drinks were in a cork-stoppered glass bottle printed with a beautiful circus scene. The drinks were so good, and the bottles too, that we came back two days later. We were wondering if it would have the same design. No they did not. For our second visit, the bottle had a screw-top with a looped string for easier transport. The bottle was not glass but bottle. But the print was still beautiful, but this time, a peacock. HOT MESS is a frozen hot chocolate with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and Ghirardelli Hot Fudge. It was so good we ordered it again on our second visit. WHITE PEACH TEA was very good and it came with pieces of fruit, which were tart, and two free add-ons, for which we chose boba. The boba was cooked all the way through and sweetened well. The tea was just the right amount of sweet and so refreshing on a hot SoCal summer day. OOLONG TEA with boba was also very good. The tea was not bitter, but it was strong enough not to taste watered down even thought there was melting ice. That means they used more tea to flavor, not over-steeped their tea. There was no line on our first visit n a Friday night. There was a long line to order on the Sunday afternoon we were there. I came here with my friends a few weekends ago after months of waiting to go! Affordable drinks in cute bottles. I've seen RW bottles all over social media and was excited to give it a try. There were 2 parties ahead of us when we came in. Naturally, we expected the line to move quickly, but for some reason, they don't separate out their duties here. There were three employees working (from what I could see) and one of them would leave the register and leave the customers waiting for 5 mins at a time. It literally took forever for us to simply order our drinks. One person should be at the register while the others are making drinks. The prices here are very reasonable considering that they offer 2 free toppings per drink order. I got the almond green milk tea with boba and sea salt foam. The drink itself was honestly really disappointing. It was way too sweet and there wasn't enough sea salt foam to balance out the flavors. The boba, however, was the right consistency. Their fruity drinks seem to be the most popular here, but they're not exactly my cup of tea. Overall - glad I gave it a try, but probably wouldn't drive all the way back here just for boba. read more

I wanted to try Roasting Water ever since the original location opened in Westminster, but never got around to it. It was out of the way and always seemed too busy, and I hate waiting in line. I decided to give this location a try since it's on my way to and from work, and I can avoid the crowd by coming here right after work. After my first visit I didn't want to come back because I didn't care for my drink. I got the Royal Mango which just tasted extremely bitter. Mango bits were hard and had no sweetness. I only came back today because I just wanted to kill some time while I was waiting for my tire to be fixed at America's Tire. This time I got Ginger Lychee Green Tea with boba. The tea was way too sweet and I couldn't even taste any ginger. All I could taste was lychee. Boba was sweet but didn't really have any flavor. I think most people are initially drawn to this place because of the cool looking bottles, but it's just a gimmick. None of the drinks seem all that unique. They don't even give out glass bottles like they used to. Now it's just plastic bottles, and you can't even bring them back to reuse or get a discount. Maybe I still haven't found the right drink but I don't have the patience to keep trying. I love ginger and mango, and this place failed on both flavors. While not as enamored of this place as many others it's definitely got the cuteness factor going for it as well as serving good drinks. I stopped in on a weekday afternoon; there were only a couple customers inside waiting for their orders so I was able to walk right up to the counter. This was a pleasant surprise after reading reviews regarding the long lines that are often here. The interior is very small with no seating other than a small bench (but there are patio tables outside if you don't want to grab-n-go). There are shelves displaying various cutesy mugs and bowls they offer for sale. Near the door is a rack with menus which list their multitude of drink offerings. After a quick glance of the menu to ponder the many fruit smoothies, teas and coffees, I decided on an iced mocha. It was reasonably priced especially considering they give you a plastic "character" bottle. The bottle isn't really a selling point for me and I ended up giving it to a friend who likes that sort of stuff. What was important was whether the mocha was any good or not. Luckily it was quite good. Topped with some sweet cream, the mocha had a deep, dominant coffee flavor, the kind that slaps you in the face like an angry pimp, and kept me buzzing for the rest of the afternoon. The chocolate flavor was also strong although when I was finished I was sad to see so much unrecoverable chocolate that had sunk to the bottom of the bottle.
