This place was good before when it was called Ding Tea, and we had never had anything like this happen before. We ordered iced taro drinks, and they tasted really bad--almost rotten. I went to this place to study and when i tried the banana cream matcha i absolutely loved it. I'm more a sweets person for matcha and this drink satisfied my expectations. Although the drink was good it took a while for drinks to come out because of only being 1-2 workers working. For the studying part it was a bit to loud in the cafe due to the music and i would see it more as a hangout spot than a quiet study sesh but that was just a personal mistake assuming it would be a quiet spot. I came in hoping to try their Horchata Pumpkin Cream Latte (it looked insane and I was really excited for it), but unfortunately they were out -- no big deal, gives me a reason to come back for sure! I ended up getting the Pineapple Tea instead and wow... amazing. Light, refreshing, and super flavorful. Definitely worth trying. I remember when this place used to be a Ding Tea and now it's changed to be Cafe Monster. The renovation they did here is great! There is a lot more room to just sit and relax, work, or meet with others; although I do wish they had some board games here, but I digress. The menu is fairly straightfoward, it isn't overpopulated, and has just the right amount of drinks, from the staple milk teas to some of the more customized drinks for this location. I got the Jasmine Milk Tea with boba and a Thai Tea with popping boba for the kiddo. The drinks were above average, but doesn't stand out. The employee was patient and kind though. Cafe monster has a creative menu with unique and popular trendy drinks. The inside has plenty of lounging area with a TV that was playing sports at the time I went. I met the owner Tam and he was very informative with what drinks are the best sellers and any questions we had. I tried the horchata matcha with 50% sugar. My other friends got the Thai tea brûlée. The matcha horchata was topped off with a horchata foam that worked pleasantly well with the matcha. It wasn't overly sweet and I'm glad I adjusted it to 50%. My friends had no complaints and enjoyed the Thai tea brûlée. Will definitely be back to try other drinks. read more

Located on Woodruff and South St in Artesia, Cafe Monster is one of my go-to places for boba milk tea. I've been coming to this location regularly since it was Ding Tea. From what I can gather, it appears to be the same ownership and a rebranding: for example, they still have the same Wi-Fi network from when they were ding tea. I don't factor this as a positive or negative. If anything, I do think that the ambiance/decor is nicer since their rebranding. The flavor of the milk tea is usually on-point and the boba has that "QQ" (the way that taiwanese people describe perfect chewiness) that is desirable. I think that this is probably one of the best spots in this LGB/Cerritos/Artesia area for boba. DM me if you agree/disagree! My only complaint is that I would prefer less ice and more volume in my "large" drink, so I think that I need to specifically ask for less ice when I order. read more

The Vietnamese coffee was very good. We had alot tried two flavor of fries. The Cajun was definitely the best. But they had no dipping sauce or ketchup which would have been a nice touch. But we would definitely come back for the nice and friendly service and big space for hang hanging with friends. This place used to be Ding Tea and now it's Cafe Monster. I decided to stop by and glad I did. Overall, the ambiance is well lit and has a modern feel to it. There is plenty of space and tables for the customers. I ordered the Pink Monster refresher and it didn't disappoint. I love the flavors of Pitaya, mango and coconut milk, what a tropical taste in the mouth and a "pink drink" that's done right! The golden boba still has the same chewy consistency it had under the previous name. I need to go back and try more of the drinks for sure. read more

This is right by my house so I'm quickly becoming a regular. I've been getting the Vietnamese coffee. It's nice and strong and has a great flavor. The way Viet coffee should be! The service is nice and quick so long as it isn't when school lets out and there are a bunch of kids figuring out what they want to order. Ive been here a few times now and i think i can safely rate it - i enjoy it!! I usually get the same thing everywhere i go which is some variation of matcha, foam, and oreo. This place makes it very well - sweet and creamy like i like! My husband is addicted to the creme brulee coffee. We once went here like 3 days straight. They also have creme brulee dessert in a jar, macarons, and other desserts. Bathroom is pretty clean and theres lots of parking. Good amount of seating inside - modern and trendy decor. My daughter loves coming here for the banana matcha which is good but today I had a bad experience! They advertise a mojito with sparkling water when I see them adding squirt which I cannot drink due to a medical reason. I asked if my drink was made with squirt or sparkling water. They said it was made with squirt, the guy re made my drink but they were laughing with his co worker. When I received my drink it had this weird chunks floating around. Ding Tea has rebranded to Cafe Monster. Provides ample indoor seating and big screen TV to enjoy a game or whatever. Service was great.... super friendly and helpful. Staff keeping place tidy when they can between orders which is always a nice touch. We ordered a cold lychee tea and hot jasmine milk tea. Both are of good tea quality but hot drink was warm not hot in temperature.... darn. We'll be back for another try. read more

Tried their black tea and it is far superior to any other teas I've had around here. The Artesia/cerritos area has a good amount of boba and tea shops already, but cafe monster really stands out.
