    It's been about 2 years now and my opinion has not improved. My mother still complains, mostly…read moreabout the property manager and office issues. The office is not open on a regular basis. PM says she goes there "as needed". Apparently that does not mean as needed by RESIDENTS. There have been numerous that mother has gone down to the office for one issue or another and the office was closed. No one answers the phone when she calls, no matter what day or time of day. It's always "catch as catch can." Surprisingly, the PM is very responsive to emails I send to her on my mother's behalf. But the other residents are afraid to speak up/stand up to her. They think they have to grin and bear it; put up with her abrasive behavior, lack of interest in their quality of life, and absence from the property. A big thing my mother complains about is the frequent change to the "shopping bus" schedule. It does run every week on Wednesday, but WHERE it's going changes every month. One month it is scheduled to go to Wal-Mart on the 1st Wed; next month it is scheduled for the 3rd Wed. How is a senior supposed to keep up with THAT? How are they supposed to budget their fixed SSA income deposit date with that? Is it a game to keep them on their toes? Meanwhile the location is horrible! Nowhere near any public transportation! Several, long blocks and over the river to the nearest RTA bus stop, and the closest Walgreen's to get prescriptions. The closest Metra stop is about a mile away. My mother does not like the general environment but does not want to move because moving is such a huge ordeal at her age. Although I am now old enough to apply for Independent Living accommodations and considered this place, it has become the LAST place on my list and I certainly would not recommend it to anyone.

    Beautiful clean facility that's chock full of employees who smile and say "hello" as they pass you…read morein the hall. The front lobby is stunning. Individual employees are, for the most part, committed to their jobs. For that, as the family of a resident, we are grateful. However, SV seriously lacks cohesion as clients are promised and redirected frequently. There's no single chain of command you can follow when meds aren't dispersed (on time or at all), the doctor doesn't show, appointments gets rescheduled, allergies are ignored, etc. It's understandably difficult to run a facility of this size but when you commit, you need to commit wholeheartedly to the needs of a clientele who will not or cannot speak for themselves. It's been our experience that SV is a place where employees redirect, rather than act, when an issue occurs. Often, because they don't know how to make things right. Remedy: Hire a client care coordinator or team who is available, responsible, and has the authority to act when something goes wrong or doesn't happen. Document it and work to make sure it doesn't reoccur. This way, you truly partner with those of us who don't know who to contact, or constantly have to address the same issue. If this person or team exists, let's hear about who he/she/they are. SV has wonderful employees in place to serve the clientel. Management now needs to make themselves known and take further steps to lead the masses. Thanks.

    I am a previous client of metro family services, blue island, il 60406 however they did not have my…read moremedical records on file. I was seeing a psych their over ten years ago. My current Doctor is at Northwestern hospital. I thought I would restart going here since it is much closer to where I currently live. I filled out the paperwork requesting transfer of medical records. However, My doctor and Nurse claim that they have not been contacted by metro family services at all. I had two sessions with counselor Sara Ahmed, she asked me a lot of questions such as 1) Do I pray, 2) How many meals a day do I eat, 3)Do I have a case pending with DCFS , repeatedly, 4). Are you retarded? 5.) Do I have any friends in the church I attend? 6.) Are there any cultural differences? 7,) Any Abuse in the Home? 8.) Any substance Abuse or drug abuse or alcohol abuse? my two sessions with her involved a hour of questioning, for what purpose I do not know, I email her regarding her line of questioning and attitude and all she did was ignore me and told me it would continue for up to a month. so I stop going, because her line of questioning was offensive and demeaning, and not helpful. I felt like I was being criminally profiled and made to feel paranoid. I am covered by both medicare and medicaid. I should not have went back to this location, one of their mental health counselor who was a 20ish white girl told me that I would end up on the street homeless and not received any housing assistance, about a year before I got my apt in the south loop chicago area. I know Why blacks don't seek help from mental health clinics. they are so negative and unhelpful, they don't get paid if your conditon and social situation improves greatly. They are nothing but eagles and birds of prey.

Busting in the apartments unannounced. Calling dcfs in retaliation to calling the police on them. How disgusting is it to weaponize DCFS and harm children for your own immoral reason? Lying on ALL the paperwork. Forced evictions wrapped in lies. Owner is aware and not even interested in the truth or discussing what really happened with the actual tenant. They've hired that woman to be their dog to people. They know. Disheartening. Unprofessional and illegal asf but they know. Brandi.adams@dre-pmc.com You must file a compliant via email before she'll speak to you on the phone. Going to make up a flyer and give it to all the tenants to be able to speak with her supervisor.

There hasn't been any renovations just a bunch of people with a security deposit moving in and out! Once my lease is up I'm outta here because the neighborhood is drastically going down with the office renting to just ANY and EVERYBODY! My apartment looks exactly the way it did when I first moved here...although one good thing is that they will send maintenance to fix things if you do a maintenance call and he is onsite...but I wouldn't give these folks my money if your looking to rent decent living quarters!
