So my two kids, wife, and I had his service from fall 2016 to early spring 2017 after in gave them my insurance info. Dr goodwin and Brenda is very nice: HOWEVER... We kept getting these bills that finally racked up to $1500 following my visit in early spring. When the bill reached to the $1500 I contacted my ins rep if anything can be done for them to cover it as in-network. They said no and if I would've found an in network dentist that 99% of service is covered 100% from fillings to exams to crowns and etc. When Brenda asked if we're gonna pay the bill following my visit, I asked her how this is racking up. She said they do not cover pompco and that their service is out of network :( My wife was the one bringing our two kids for service and when I asked Brenda if she told my wife about being out of network, she nodded her head with a yes. Now again, she's a very nice lady and the service was good but if my wife heard someone tell her my insurance is not covered she would've remembered something of this nature and told me to find another dentist, as we were struggling and in the processing of buying a home. So I think anyone hearing something like this would've stopped this service especially if it's out of network So my recommendation is if you pick Dr Goodwin make sure you ask if they are in network and service is covered. I'm the lucky one with a WONDERFUL bill of $1500 since Brenda CLAIMED SHE TOLD MY WIFE THAT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT POMCO

I first started at Shoppingtown Dental reluctantly because of the "mall" reference (don't let the name put you off... it's not even in Shoppingstown just near it!) but the office was close for travel and took my NYS retiree insurance... up front. I have found this office to be exceptional in terms of insurance billing and pre-approvals (thank you, Pat!) with appointments kept right on time or very close to it... none of these "we're running an hour late.." Most importantly, Dr. Simlote is .... very skilled, very gentle and kind, and very concerned with your well being as he works in your mouth (confirms all is ok as he goes). The sharp, insufferable pain meant I needed a doctor immediately. In a hilarious twist, I had a recommendation from an SU Coach for Dr. Brian Tromblee, and my wife Dolly had a recommendation from her yoga instructor, Karen, for Dr. Teri Forth. When we compared notes, we realized they shared the exact same phone number (315-458-4794). Turns out, they are a fantastic husband-and-wife duo running Forth-Tromblee Dentistry! Rather than argue about it (we'd already spent our energy arguing over milk percentages and Pop-Tart flavors at the grocery store earlier), we called and booked appointments for ourselves and our three kids. Dr. Tromblee saw me within an hour of my call. He immediately took care of the nerve pain before giving us a warm welcome to the practice. Long Story - I went to get my teeth cleaned 3 years ago - I had been a patient for 14 years -…read moresomething went wrong at that cleaning - I heard a loud grinding sound as if the hygienist used the wrong size scraper as she cleaned my bottom front teeth - after the cleaning I went home and noticed those teeth were extremely sharp - they even cut right through dental floss as if it was butter - I went back to have Dr. Tromblee polish them to smooth them out - it didn't work and I had to go back at least 4 more times - at the last appt Dr. Forth had to put some bonding on one of the teeth that were damaged by Dr. Tromblee when he tried to fix the rough, sharp areas - this still didn't remedy the situation - I stopped going back to them to "fix" the issue that started with their hygienist when I caught the staff there rolling their eyes and giving each other the side eye look when I showed up again with the same issue - I then went to another dentist and she could not figure out what was wrong and just ground my teeth but didn't fix the issue - after having her try to fix them 4 or 5 times I went to another dentist and am now on my 2nd dentist there and 4th time repairing the issue - Meanwhile this has taken over 3 years and my mouth is so sore - the end of my tongue is raw, my teeth have moved and are now crooked from my tongue rubbing on the teeth, and my gums in the back on the front bottom teeth are receding and I now have to go see a periodontist - The staff at Forth & Tromblee treated me as if I had done something wrong - I just wanted my teeth fixed and it seems they and the following dentists just damaged them even further. After 14 years with them, my entire family went there also, you'd think they would have really tried to help, but they didn't, and 3 years later I just want to pull those teeth out and get replacement teeth made. After that a new manager and staff said I owed another $1,200 but said the entire staff I dealt with had been fired and they had no notes or computer entries saying they had given me that price. It was my word against theirs. The receptionist was incredibly rude and District Manager was nice at first and then turned nasty when I asked for documentation. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office for unethical practice. After 20 years of being a patient there it was unimaginable that they would do that even though they are new owner. This place is a scam.

I had been very reluctant to visit any dentist before finding his office, because I have had terrible experiences prior to this. Dentists who were very rough, who would rather pull teeth than save them, and who botched work. Dr. Pateras restored my faith in dentistry not only through his skill, but also through introducing me to preventive dentistry. In the past I would have teeth that would break off with no warning, loose teeth, constant infections and lots of cavities. After becoming a patient here, and taking care of problems before they become irreversable, I have enjoyed good dental health ever since. I have had to have my share of restorative work such as crowns and bridges due to past neglect, but the remaining teeth have remained in good shape and I plan on keeping them. We know it can be super unpleasant so it's important to find someone who will make a unpleasant experience a pleasant one. Dr Chris and his staff do just that! They are super efficient, informative and dare I say painless?! My first visit consisted of X-rays galore and then a treatment plan for all the extensive work I'll need. Hey! Like I said I'm either their dream or nightmare. Although the cost of what my new mouth will cost me is astronomical it's not a surprise and on par with other dentists that have examined me. He is extremely gentle and is concerned about ensuring you experience no pain. I have had multiple root canals with him and have never felt a thing other than the initial nova caine shots which are minimal because they use a topical first as well. I've referred many people here in the past. Great prices when I had to pay out of pocket or use Care Credit. Only complaint is he sometimes leaves for a month if the year to go do charity around the world, and causes me to delay appointments. But that's not a complaint, he is truly a great guy and takes care of my entire family.
