Dr.Tandy and Carol are HILARIOUS!! The whole office has this very relaxing vibe to it so you totally feel comfortable as soon as you walk right in...but it gets better...within the relaxing office there is a relax room to help calm you down for your surgery....I have never used it, but I peeked in and you just want to fall asleep in there! After your operation (that pretty much feels like a teeth cleaning), you get this warm towel to wipe your mouth off with that smells like fresh squeezed lemons! Its the little things people...when you have just had skin grafted to your gum a nice lemon towel makes your face feel fresh! :) HAHA im serious! I actually decided on this office due to a positive Yelp review from Meg K. and was happy to learn my insurance was accepted as well. The consultation was very informative and I didn't feel pressured into doing more than needed for the grafting, so I decided to move forward in getting my surgery done by Dr. Tandy. Last Friday I had my first of two rounds of grafting done and it went better than I anticipated. The staff here is just great. Very professional, understanding, fun, and helpful. Dr. Tandy, Christie, and Sadia are all amazing and I am actually excited to see them soon for my next round. Reasons why this office is wonderful: 1. You get this awesome complimentary Shea Butter Lip Balm which appears to be custom made by Dr. Tandy. 2. The Relaxation Room is so cool! There is an awesome massage chair, tranquil music, and even blankets to keep you relaxed prior to surgery. 3. The staff is so much fun! While still completely professional, I can't stop laughing while I am visiting due to all of their jokes :) 4. Dr. Tandy and her team take their time in explaining each detail and really take into consideration all medical history prior to scheduling surgery to make sure nothing conflicts. They called before each session to make sure that we were all on the same page. I love their thoroughness! 5. They are very understanding in rescheduling. I had an unrelated hospitalization and was unable to make my original scheduled grafting surgery. They made sure I was in good health prior to moving forward with rescheduling. Until recently I was a patient of this practice for 14 yrs. Yes, they have changed hands but state…read morelaw, not to mention common sense, requires them to maintain ALL patient's records as long as they are a current patient and up to 6 yrs after their last visit. (az leg 32-1264 Maintenance of Records) My most recent visit was about 9 months ago when they broke my implant repair before I even got out of the chair (paid $465 for it) and then refused to fix for no charge like I had been promised. I want to replace my old, broken implants, obviously not with them. When I tried to have my records transferred to my new dentist (they need to know the original hardware) was told all my records prior to 10 yrs ago are gone. No files, no hardcopies, no trace, nothing but excuses and a bad, defensive attitude from the front office staff. After a signed release and many unanswered/unreturned calls for over a month from my current dentist, it took a couple unpleasant phone calls, with them even hanging up on me, before they finally sent what they did have. They are not good stewards of you as a patient or your records and are not trustworthy. Also know that they delete any negative reviews on their website. Go to yelp if you want to know the truth.

You will feel at home as a patient at this family dentistry…read more Been coming for years and have been taken care of without a hitch. The waiting room is like a basement, in a good way. Couches and Lounge Chairs with a TV are set up for your waiting pleasure. There's a mini arcade and toys for the little ones. The scheduled appointments are set about 6 months out for the semi annual cleanings, but you can just reschedule as the date gets closer. I like that they are able to send text reminders of the appointments otherwise I would never remember. For the most part they get you started for your appointment at the time you are scheduled. Only on a couple occasions I had to wait past my appointment time for more than 15 minutes. Office manager, Megan is always very cordial and will always put in the leg work to help you with your visits. Whether it is with scheduling or figuring out with your insurance she tries to take the stress out coming to the dentist. Dr. Ray always tries to catch up with you when he does his check up so that way it's not such cold robotic experience. Persoanable and friendly staff is the most you can ask for when dentist are on every corner these days. COVID Safety: They only allow the patient to come back for the treatment. Others have to stay in the waiting room or elsewhere. They give you protective goggles to wear during your cleaning. The hygenist also wear face shields as part of their safety apparatus. I don't know if they are limiting the amount of people in the waiting area. Also not sure if they are wiping and sanitzing areas thoroughly in between patients.

Appointment was easy to make over the phone and they send you a text confirmation right away. They also send a reminder text a few days before and the day of rather than call you so I appreciate that - I can be forgetful at times. When I checked in I realized they had a check in offer and I've always wanted to try teeth whitening so I asked them about it before I started my cleaning. I was a bit hesitant because I've never done it before and I was afraid of the sensitivity afterwards. The staff explained the procedure to me in great details and answered all my questions. They were also nice enough to add it to my appointment that same visit so I didn't have to come back - the entire procedure itself from beginning to end took about 45 mins. I decided to take my daughter with me since she had half day off school and they were very welcoming. The most thoughtful staff turned the tv the other way so my daughter could watch something her age while I got my procedure done because you know..kids and their patience lol. Now I know why they named themselves happy family dental! They make you and your family feel happy and really treat you like you're family yourself. I will be back :)

I went in for a minor repair to a small chip on my front tooth, something I had successfully maintained for over 15 years. I clearly requested an A1 shade, which had always matched my teeth. Despite this, the dentist chose to use "universal" composite, a material not intended for front teeth. The result was one yellow front tooth next to a white one. Even the dental assistant questioned the choice of material, yet it was still used. Afterward, the filling was filed down in a way that created a visible gap in the center of my smile, which I never had prior to this visit. Instead of acknowledging or correcting the issue, I was told I "needed veneers anyway," which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the circumstances. Due to the financial burden of correcting someone else's mistake, I was unable to have this fixed right away. This significantly impacted my confidence and mental well-being for nearly a year. When I finally saw another dentist, I was informed that an excessive amount of universal composite had been used, causing my entire tooth to appear yellow and requiring extensive drilling to correct. I ultimately had to pay out of pocket to repair damage that should never have occurred. This experience reflects a lack of transparency, poor clinical judgment, and disregard for the cosmetic and emotional impact on patients. I am sharing this so others are aware and because patients should not be left financially responsible for correcting preventable errors.

I followed their instructions for postop care, icing the areas for 15 min on 15 off for 4-5hrs. Also used wet tea bags to cover the extraction area, as instructed, several times. While there was some pain when the anesthetic wore off, the next day I was completely pain free, outstanding! Follow their instructions and it will likely work for you too. I have a second round to go thru, but I will no longer be anxious prior to the next procedure. They are a very caring and professional practice, highly recommended.

He is a diabetic and is losing all his teeth due to a dental procedure done when he as a child. He can't eat most solid food so I was looking for free dental care or very reduced costs to get him implants or dentures. When I looked up free dental care on the web Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health Dental clinic was the first one on the list (see photo) I was so excited as I thought finally someone will help him. Unfortunately after speaking to the customer service rep who answered the phone I was told they do NOT offer free dental care and only have a 20% discount over most private clinics!!! I was shocked and disappointed to say the least. Why are they advertised as a Free Clinic and then only provide a 20% discount, he can get that at most regular clinics because he is a veteran, so not really a discount. Adults have 32 teeth so she told me to get implants it is $1000 a tooth so that is $32,000 dollars!! WOW not much of a discount....
