Classy Pittsburgh Gift SPOTTTTT!!!…read more We need to shout it from the parking lot and let the whole city know!!! Stop going to Sports Stores for yinzer merch - gifted hands has your fix! An unassuming boutique store - Gifted Hands is an epic find for Pittsburghers who need a gift for their Steel Nation friends. Yes, the store has jewelry, bags, and beadwork items lining the front windows and the front of the store... but if that intimidates you... close your eyes and wander to the back of the store. Primanti's sandwich dog toys! Steel cutouts of the Pittsburgh skyline! Mister Rogers children's books! You won't be let down! You will find a gift. The prices are pretty equivalent to Amazon and you can peruse the curated selections to find things that you normally wouldn't think of. To top it off, the employees are always the sweetest! When checking out, they will offer gift receipts... and gift wrapping!!! We bought a Pittsburgh children's book - and they offered baby wrap (colorful tissue paper) or the Pittsburgh mix (black and yellow colors) FOR FREEEEE!! Amazon wouldn't do that!! Stop being lazy and cheap with gifting - come out to a local establishment and get your gift here!!

This is a great spot to find unique gifts for anyone on your list…read more They have a nice selection of jewelry and accessories (like earrings, scarves, purses), some home decor (things like signs and knickknacks), a baby/kids section, mugs, some birth year things and a whole wall of Pittsburgh goodies Stuff can seem a bit pricey, but much of it is handmade, so definitely worth a splurge. The staff are friendly and attentive and will even gift wrap your purchase! If you don't need it wrapped, they still carefully package it for you to take home. Definitely check it out if you are looking for a unique gift!

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. The owner is unprofessional, unethical, devious and deceitful…read more I commissioned GDC to make an item for me. I brought some of my own "scrap" gold to be used in part for sentimental value and in part to defray the cost. Picked up my object only to find that my scrap gold had not been used. When I questioned the woman as to why my scrap wasn't used she became a bit nervous and had no answer other than she guessed he "forgot". I was charged far over the estimated price and while I put down a deposit it was ADDED to the estimated price AND, they wanted to keep my scrap! I returned home and called requesting my scrap back, even offering to pay the difference in price (before I realized I had paid far more than the estimate). The woman became nervous and said she'd have to weigh it but would call back. No call back. Phoned the next day and spoke to the owner explaining the situation. Explosive temper is an understatement. I was told, as he was yelling and carrying on, he didn't care about my sentimentalien, he had a "very sick sister in the hospital", daughter in law who passed away, son who took off and is raising their child. That there were more important things in life. His personal problems had no bearing on the situation. Recently lost both of my parents, so the sentimentalism of incorporating it into something I designed was important to ME. I was told I was "weird" because of this. Because of his belligerent behavior and the feeling something just wasn't right I consulted the police. I had a receipt with no discount given for my scrap gold. Therefore, he wasn't entitled to keep it. Poor bookkeeping-on purpose-meant to confuse. The police stopped in to speak with him and I received a call from GDC within minutes telling me I could pick it up. I did so the next day only to be verbally assaulted once again, yelling and carrying on, lacking any form of civility, not letting me speak. I was flipped off, told I was a bitch, told never to come back, he instructed an employee to call the police on ME! Threw me out and told me to go back to my "miserable life. " MY miserable life??! No apology for not using my heirlooms or the unsettling phone call the day before. Unabashedly appalling behavior from a business owner AND man. The man is pathetic. Got caught with his hand in the cookie jar but is trying to make me some kind of scum of the earth. Shame on him for resorting to demeaning a customer because he wasn't getting away with taking something he wasn't entitled to! I don't wear that hat-all his. They (employees) are all in on it. If this doesn't qualify as a poor review and warning I don't know what will. I would give zero stars but it's not an option. One burned and burned up reasonable woman.

THIS APPLIES ONLY TO WATCH REPAIR. They may be excellent for other things…read more Stopped by to see how much it would cost to replace the glass face of my wristwatch. They said they send watches to someone at another location for repairs and estimates, and that it could take a couple weeks. After 4 weeks they called to say it would be $80. I told them no thanks, I'd like to just come pick it up and not have it repaired. It took another 3 weeks before it was back at their store for pickup. Then I took it to a jeweler in Greensburg on a Saturday. They gave me a price on the spot of $30 for the repair and said it would be done in a week. I'm giving GDC 2 stars instead of 1 star because the young guy who was there when I picked up the watch was very patient and polite, and took the time to show me some other new watches that they had available for sale, in case I decided to buy a new one instead of repairing the old one.
