I questioned this and he said 'If this doesn't work we will only prescribe something similar'. Complete waste of time, all I wanted was a muscle relaxer so I could have a decent night's sleep for once. If you've been to a doctor that didn't take you seriously then you know what I'm talking about.

I had had these shots over a year ago by another practitioner, she was in and out and the shots did nothing for me. When I say in and out I mean it seemed like the procedure was simply to dispense some product into my back and charge my insurance. My experience with Dr. Mahboobi was completely different. He explained to me what he was going to do and systematically with great care and precision injected the medicine in exactly to precise spot it needed to be. During the procedure he told me every step of what he was doing. I found him to be professional, caring and an exceptional physician. The time he spent with me was triple what the other doctor had spent and the results were 300% better. I suggest that if you need spinal tap procedure for back pain you seek Dr. Mahboobi's excellent care. He is an expert at what he does and really cares about his patients.

If you have a special needs child that needs to be sedated, you're in luck. His policy is to prioritize those children only. If your child is 4 or over, the earliest he'll see your child is noon. And your child can't eat anything for 6 hours. He makes absolutely no exceptions and will refund your money back if you're as much of a pain in the butt as I must have been to try to insist that my 4 year old needed an earlier time. I can't comment on whether he does a good job or not. i was just frustrated by his unbending policy. Luckily, it forced me to shop around and find a dentist who uses a HOSPITAL instead which is much safer alternative, anyway.

I arrived to the office and figured I'd be waiting a long time with the number of people in the waiting room but that wasn't the case. I was taken back and my history was taken then followed by Dr. Newton coming in. He did a complete exam on my back and asked further question from my history and discussed game plan. He knows how insurance companies can be so wrote orders for xray, mri, and PT just in case my insurance company refused further treatment until PT is completed. He gave medication for muscle spams and a stronger NASID to get me through until I am able to get the scans done. Overall a great visit and would definitely recommend. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it took the PA 2 days to submit my prescription to the pharmacy. I understand each location has one person in charge of this and my appointment was in the afternoon. However when in discomfort I just figured it would have been completed that day if not the next morning. And I received no response to my portal messages. So my tips include: make sure you complete paperwork online prior to visit. And ensure your prescription is sent the same day or try and get a paper one to take yourself (this isn't always an option).

This doctor seems to go out of his way to find the root of your pain, not just treat it. Refreshing, to say the least. I was happy when my last pain management doctor temporarily took my pain away, but shots are just band-aid and a contract for a lifetime of care. I feel for the first time in years of orthopedics, physical therapists, pain specialists, surgeons, sports med docs, etc., that I have hope of RECOVERING from this debilitating pain.
