Make sure you are out of pain before you leave that office! Once you pay you are done, your "care" ends. I've never really experienced tooth pain like this before but I'd rather suffer through it than deal with these people. Keep your wife, children and loved ones away. They treated me and my wife very poorly and handled everything poorly. Tooth pain is no joke but to them they get their payment and that's all they care about. Just an update he replied to me saying I scared the office girls when I never once spoke to any of them since this whole disaster started and I have call log to prove it, do you ? You messed up twice and the sad thing is neither time bothered you NONE of this had anything to do with the office it's all you and your poor handling of both situations. Dr. Grimes has been my dentist for years and has always been knowledgeable in most everything he has come across. What he knows needs to be referred out, he does not hesitate. His staff has always been friendly and personable. My husband just had a full restoration of his teeth done and we couldn't be happier. Naomi was rude, obnoxious and condescending. Such a shame that a great Dentist has to get a poor review because their staff apparently have no decorum. Dr. Grimes and his staff are amazing! I appreciate his gentle, expert care! His hygienists and assistants provide excellent care as well!!

First of all, the staff was friendly and helpful, making sure I understood my procedures and finding me the perfect appointment time. The office was spacious and clean. Dr. Grime's assistant was excellent, patient and thorough. She is the picture of perfection in professionalism. Upon meeting Dr. Grimes, I found him pleasantly easy to talk with. He went over my entire teeth and explained each, one by one, both positive and negative. I found him easy to trust and hereby put the future of my teeth in his hands. Dr. Grimes and his entire staff have been extremely kind, patient and understand with me the past few months. I have awful anxiety when it comes to dental work and everyone has made the process so much easier for me. Dr. Grimes takes his time with you explaining any procedures and concerns you might have. I had to have a root canal and he went over everything in detail about the procedure and answered all of my questions in a way that eased my anxiety. BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT USE GRIMES DENTISTRY!!! What should have been a routine tooth extraction for me, turned into an absolute nightmare and I would not want anyone to go through what they put me through! Basically when suturing the extraction site following having my tooth pulled, the doctor accidentally SEWED MY GUMS TO THE INSIDE OF MY CHEEK. After 2 days of living with my mouth sewed shut, I finally went back in to have them check it out, and I was told that while they were sorry for looping so much cheek tissue into the stitches, they could not remove the sutures without undoing the entire procedure, so they prescribed me stronger pain pills and then I had to live like that for at least 10 days, maybe more. And even then they didn't remove all the stitches, just some of them. I was swollen, sensitive and in severe pain for 6 weeks straight and when I visited other dentists to get their opinions I was told this is NOT standard for an extraction, it's actually unheard of to sew the cheek to the gums like they did in my case. Not only that, but the stitches ripped out of my cheek over the "healing period" (naturally, since I have to move my mouth every day) and most of the bone graft fell out. I basically will have to have the whole procedure redone by another dentist! And that's *once I'm fully healed* which I'm still waiting on. Not to mention I have scarring inside my cheek and on my gums to this day (5 months later) from their botched procedure. I wrote directly to Grimes asking for my money back for this awful experience, and I was offered a partial refund only IF I would sign a release agreeing to never tell anyone about what happened there. (I will try to come back and upload a photo of this document later.) NO THANK YOU GRIMES!!! You can keep your hush money and I will utilize my rights to tell anyone and everyone to stay far away from this place of business! To anyone considering using Grimes Dentistry: Please think again! I had no control over the pain and suffering I was subjected to here. We trust these medical professionals to uphold their oaths and take good care of their patients, or at the very least hope they don't get too liberal with their blades/tools (or in my case - the needle and thread). After years of terrible dental experience I found Grimes and Simek. I have needed a root canal for two years and I kept putting it off until the pain was unbearable. I just got home from the procedure and I am WOWED. These people care so freaking much about their patients it's unreal. You'd think I was their daughter. Being in a town which is new to me, finding a dentist was terrifying. From the moment I got there they ensured me everything would be fine and that they'd take great care of me. I let the dental assistant know I had severe anxiety after they had numbed me with a topical and she asked if I'd like nitrous. I said yes please. She got me set up and ensured I was okay multiple times. They numbed me up and I didn't feel a thing. The doctors and women who work here are insanely good at their jobs. I was very disappointed with this dental office. The first time I went in I was told I needed a deep cleaning (Periodontal Maintenance)...not a cheap service. I choose to do the cleaning because I trusted that it needed to be done. A year and a half later I went back for a normal cleaning and once again they would not clean my teeth unless I had this "deep cleaning" (cost 3k) done again. So I left the office paying $100.00 for ex-rays and no cleaning. I then went to a different dentist and he cleaned my teeth and said there was no need for the deep cleaning at this time. I've never written a bad review before but I actually work in the insurance business and have heard several customers with this same experience. It makes me sad and to be honest very frustrated that this has happened to multiple people. My recommendation is before you spend tons of money on services you don't need get a second opinion. read more

Dr. Simek is fantastic. From calling his office and scheduling the appointment to sitting down with him during the consultation and coming up with a game plan. He is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and price was the most competitive I was able to find in Lubbock. He will be my primary dentist from here on out. I took my 13 year old to see Dr. Grimes for a teeth cleaning and checkup. This was only her 1st time to see this doctor. The dental hygienist was very good, but Dr. Grimes must have been in a bad mood, because he came in and chewed her out for not cleaning her teeth/braces better. She had only 6 months left until her braces were to be removed, and he told me that I should just have the braces removed now and forget the $5500 I had spent on them and wait until she was more mature and do it again before she ruined her teeth with poor hygiene. My daughter fought back tears through his whole butt chewing and cried when we left. He was angry with her when she wouldn't answer his question about understanding what he was telling her, but to answer him would have opened the flood gates, and she didn't want to do that so didn't respond. He obviously didn't understand her. I knew she was not cleaning her teeth as well as she should, but her orthodontist had never acted as if it were that severe so it surprised me. I was shocked that someone that had no relationship with her would talk to her the way he did. I have no problem with a good butt chewing when necessary, but he was very rude and intimidating and it could have been handled in a kinder way. I won't return. He is probably good with adults. I have friends who like him. read more
